especially cosplay wigs that are meant for one character. here is an example

>> No.7890481

If they are casual it looks pretty cool, I used to do that so I could change my look without having to damage my hair.

Some wigs just don't work with every day outfits, like when people use those god-awful Miku wigs

I think it's fine as long as the wig is taken care of and not a shite party central wig. There's a girl in my town that's always wearing a tangled Haruko wig with goggles and it pisses me off every time I see it.

>> No.7890584

I have unnaturally coloured hair and wear wigs regularly for work. They are wigs I use for cosplay, but they look really normal and are good quality, so most people don't take a second look.

People who want to walk around in obviously animu wigs, I guess have fun, but you look stupid.

>> No.7890625

This is probably the best place I can post this.

I'm planning on buying a long black wig that I will be able to wear to my prom ( my current hair is too short to actually properly style)

What wigs would people suggest that are good enough quality and that won't leave me with an itchy head? I may also have to style it a bit so if that works as well then that's brilliant!

>> No.7890635

Those god awful miku wigs don't even work with miku.
>>7890478
As long as it looks natural I see no problem with it. I've thought about wearing one of my more natural wigs after getting a bad haircut but decided against it for comfort reasons. I could see why people would do it though.

Looks exactly like a guy I knew in high school. He was on the football team, and for some reason they all had to bleach their hair. This is what his hair looked like when it started to grow out.

Not sure why you would want this kind of look on purpose.

>> No.7891460

I personally wear wigs occasionally when I go out, but they're wigs that don't look like obvious costume wigs. Usually I stick to natural colored ones that have minimal shininess to them

>> No.7891507

During my highschool years some scene chick would wear these horribly teased and messy wigs constantly and tell others it was her real hair. They'd believe her and thought it was the coolest shit.

I always see people complaining about the use of cosplay wigs in Lolita, but honestly, I can't always tell if it's a cosplay wigh when I buy it...

>> No.7891747

>>7891539
Cosplay wigs as in wigs in unnatural colors and usually prestyled/made in mind for cosplay.
Compared to wigs that could realistically be styled with someone's actual hair though obviously the reason people don't is because it's more impractical to dye/style into different colors and intricate styles all the time (and some just don't have the right hair for it)

>> No.7891780

>>7891747
Huge hair and unnatural colors aren't that uncommon in Lolita fashion, but there's like natural colored cosplay wigs that I wouldn't have recognized as such.

I wear them sometimes, but that's because I would love to dye my hair crazy colours but I'm way too afraid to damage it. Plus I like my current hair, I don't want to change it but I still wanna try different looks every so often, you know?
In saying that, I wouldn't wanna wear something like a Yuno Gasai wig or anything, but I like alternative/pastel hair colours so I think a wig is a perfect alternative to dyeing your hair. Provided it's actually a nice wig and not a shitty, shiny mess.

If there isn't any other pictures of just the wig then i wouldn't trust it.

Also be carefull with grey wigs, if you don't look like a young child with perfect skin it has the possibility to make you look like grandma hippie.

Anyway good luck with whatever you choose to do.

I think roots can be ok but they need to be styled? bleach in a few streaks so it fades better into the rest of the color of your hair.

It looks really bad if it's just a blunt edge around your head

Depends on what look you're going for. If you want to look like an actual human being, cosplay wigs are a bad choice. If you want to look like you're cosplaying something, pick a cosplay wig. Usually people are going for the first option yet still pick a cosplay wig and end up looking like they're wearing a costume instead of a coordinated outfit. Pic very related.

>First:
This girl is a Finnish beauty and makeup blogger Roseshock, who likes to play around with radical looks both in her makeup and her hair. She's been recently growing her hair and then cutting it to bald again, then colouring her hair and so forth.
She's also an occasional con goer, so she knows her way with wigs. In Finland, while the cosplay scene is quite big these days, normal fags would never now the difference between this haikyuu wig and oddly coloured hair.

Go check her out in Instagram or Tumblr, she's talented and her attitude is awesome.

>Second
As long as the wig you wear while normal fagging is good quality, doesn't scream "I LIEK MIKu DESU/ NARUTOTTBAYOO!!!!!111! ^_^" and doesn't shine like a cheap halloween wig, then it's fine, have fun.

>> No.7898412

>>7890625
You will get any itchy head no matter what you do. Why? Because the itch is mainly caused by your head sweating because there is a pile of plastic on top of it. The best thing you can do is wear a fishnet wig cap so the sweat doesn't get trapped like it would in stocking cap and learn to deal with it.

>> No.7901187

Oh god this. I get such bad headaches when I wear wigs. Doesn't matter how big or small they are. I always have to take ibuprofen at cons if I want to survive the day.
