All of my cringe when I was 'cosplaying' an 'original character' that jumped on a dude's back because he humped some other dude against a table from one end of the room to the other. Fucking christ. At least I was never a land whale.

Need I say more? Also, I am 32 years old, so it does not help that half of congoers are under 18, 25% are just above 18, hardly any my age or older. I'm not good with talking with young people. And don't even get me started on jailbat that try to flirt.

I get complimented and stopped to talk about my cosplays a lot, but I also have horrible social anxiety and immediately get very nervous no matter who it is that talks to me. Example:

First of all don't run off. Walking away from someone that is trying to talk to you will be seen "You disgust me, I don't want to be near you". If people start talking to you, stay near them. You'll stutter like shit, but they'll see you as shy, not disgusted by their presence. You're a cosplayer talking to cosplayers, so to avoid awkward blanks in the conversation, you can start talking about who they/you are cosplaying as if you've nothing else to say

I was flirting with a girl, and for my costume I was wearing a morph suit, and was only wearing a shirt and boxers underneath. Next thing I knew, I had a major boner, like full mast, can't put down without it hurting kind of boner and she just laughed at me. It was shitty because I had to go to the bathroom hoping no one would see and wait for it to go down, but it didn't go down for like thirty minutes, so I just sat there. I couldn't even jerk off to make it go down because of the morph suit, and I couldn't use my phone in it, and people were constantly coming in and out so they would have heard me in the stall.

The con I went to wasn't a huge event to begin with, it was run by said uni's anime club and it was free. I put a really simple cosplay together (okabe rintarou) for it and once people started showing up it was pretty chill, but god you could just feel the sadness and awkwardness on the persona man's face.

I went to a really small con in my town. The vendor hall, artist alley and guests tables were all in the same very large room.
One of the guest was the black mom/walker from The Walking Dead.

She was in the middle row, and there wasn't much to do at this con aside from board games and cruising the vendor/guest/alley, and every time we past her booth she became more and more saddened.

I'm pretty sure she left early on the second day because no one wanted her autograph.

I know it's not terrible or anything, I just felt so guilty every time we walked past her and felt the awkwardness for her.

this happened to me once but I was by myself (walking through a crowded con). some random guy came up to me out of nowhere, put his hand on my waist and pulled me in for a selfie. I thought he was really excited about seeing my character but then he asked me who I was dressed up as. then he took my prop and started playing around with it. told him I needed to go back to my gofer job asap and to give it back and he immediately asked if I was going to report him or something. when I look back on it, I probably should have but I was so busy that weekend.

First time at an anime convention, me and my friend were a little fish out of water on the first day. We were plenty early to get passes registered so everyone was just chilling on the green until the con opened. Suddenly some dude calls us over and we go over to see what he wants, he is about our age, maybe a year or two older and says "No reason to sit on our own right?". Everyone introduces themselves and he pulls out a bottle of rum and asks if we want to hang out and drink with him until the con starts, we suddenly turn awkward, make excuses and shoo ourselves away and don't see him again.

Looking back, I feel stupid for not taking him up on the offer, first time at a con we didn't expect people to actually be outgoing and friendly so missed out on having a few drinks and hanging out with someone new. Instead we spent the first three hours of our con experience sitting in the grass eating a sandwich wondering when our other friends where showing up.
