Although the experience was brief, at that moment I truly felt like I was out of place. I've always assumed most con attendees are atheist/agnostic, but it sort of dawns on you in moments like that. I've been very precatious to avoid mentioning anything remotely relating to my beliefs at every con since out of fear of a super-awkward moment.

I spill, not spaghetti, straight up bucatini out of my pockets 24/7 and all of my con experiences reflects it.
All of my cringe when I was 'cosplaying' an 'original character' that jumped on a dude's back because he humped some other dude against a table from one end of the room to the other. Fucking christ. At least I was never a land whale.

I'm not religious myself, but damn, that is some fedora-tier shit. It must be kind of an awkward boat to be in, though, being a non-crazy religious person at a con, I don't envy you. The only religious con-goers I know are the stuff weeaboo horror stories are mad of, fucking batshit insane.

I get complimented and stopped to talk about my cosplays a lot, but I also have horrible social anxiety and immediately get very nervous no matter who it is that talks to me. Example:
>cosplaying Rawberry from The Gray Garden
>cute Wadanohara cosplayers come up to me
>"you're so adorable I love your cosplay what's your facebook etc etc"
>HAHA THANK YOU VERY MUCH IT WAS NICE MEETING YOU
>sprints away to 3rd floor of convention

First of all don't run off. Walking away from someone that is trying to talk to you will be seen "You disgust me, I don't want to be near you". If people start talking to you, stay near them. You'll stutter like shit, but they'll see you as shy, not disgusted by their presence. You're a cosplayer talking to cosplayers, so to avoid awkward blanks in the conversation, you can start talking about who they/you are cosplaying as if you've nothing else to say

Proper social etiquette isn't easy. He's just going to look like a mute.

You'll know the limits of far you can go with people when you act like an extrovert. You'll also make mistakes(The mistakes you're supposed to make when you were younger) and learn from them.

You learn social etiquette by communicating with other people, you don't get to communicate as an introvert.

Next thing I knew, I had a major boner, like full mast, can't put down without it hurting kind of boner and she just laughed at me. It was shitty because I had to go to the bathroom hoping no one would see and wait for it to go down, but it didn't go down for like thirty minutes, so I just sat there. >Be with cousin
>Cousin compliments some Monster Hunter cosplay
>She engages in deep talk in a language only a fucking woodpecker on speed can understand
>He just got game day before

Later that day some random chicks started stroking his beard and asked if it was real. I wanted to punch them so hard.

Same thing happened to my friend but with homestuck. God I swear she was on every drug .

I went to a really small con in my town. The vendor hall, artist alley and guests tables were all in the same very large room.
One of the guest was the black mom/walker from The Walking Dead.

She was in the middle row, and there wasn't much to do at this con aside from board games and cruising the vendor/guest/alley, and every time we past her booth she became more and more saddened.

I'm pretty sure she left early on the second day because no one wanted her autograph.

I know it's not terrible or anything, I just felt so guilty every time we walked past her and felt the awkwardness for her.

this happened to me once but I was by myself (walking through a crowded con). some random guy came up to me out of nowhere, put his hand on my waist and pulled me in for a selfie. I thought he was really excited about seeing my character but then he asked me who I was dressed up as. then he took my prop and started playing around with it. told him I needed to go back to my gofer job asap and to give it back and he immediately asked if I was going to report him or something. when I look back on it, I probably should have but I was so busy that weekend.

I am drunk again, I am unfortunately not as good of a story teller while inerbed, but I will try.

I'm 12andwhatisthis, but as I said before, 16 at this point, super lalaland have no fucking clue what real life is like, but I've read books, I know how this works.
I'm like totally cool with following him behind the convention hall, no really guys, I got this.
He's like, 23? But it was just a detail at this point, just as the fact he's only been with girls that are much younger than him because of the lower likelihood of stds. Yeah.

And I see dick for the first time, so then I got stupider and pursued it.
After a few encounters with him doing vanilla firsts, Finally warning bells were going off and I started panicking that I might actually get pregnant and have to deal with this guy's child for the rest of my life.
News of just how shitty my taste was finally struck me, and I burned a lot of bridges after that.

>find out that he's willing to settle with a girl, but not with the first girl he gets pregnant...he'll only settle with the second.

That cashier was stone faced like a motherfucker, now that I've worked in retail a few years, I know that feel. It is a feel that feels.
__

The catboi story is just meeting a couple girls out on the grass with him, realizing how disgusting labia paper is when testing cunnilingus, and trying to 'get' why the 'real' vampire girl has no idea about The Black Veil and has no opinion on it, and also learning that werewolves have a better bark than bite.

>"You're not a werewolf"
>"I really am, you have no idea, your puny human brain cannot fathom"
>"K, well, bite me then, prove you're a werewolf and bite my arm as hard as you can, I can take anything you got, that should be adequate proof."
>bites really really hard, doesn't break skin
>"See? If you were a werewolf, you'd have at least drawn blood"
>"You're just a weird human, are you really though? Because that would have worked if you were human."
I just had a ridiculously high pain tolerance, but I refused to be sucked into their weird play pretend thing because sex games wouldn't have been as weird, I thought, and left catboi to stare at the crazy chubby chicks that were looking at him like he was a juicy steak.
I don't think he survived that encounter, never saw that guy or those batshit girls again.

First time at an anime convention, me and my friend were a little fish out of water on the first day. We were plenty early to get passes registered so everyone was just chilling on the green until the con opened. Suddenly some dude calls us over and we go over to see what he wants, he is about our age, maybe a year or two older and says "No reason to sit on our own right?". Everyone introduces themselves and he pulls out a bottle of rum and asks if we want to hang out and drink with him until the con starts, we suddenly turn awkward, make excuses and shoo ourselves away and don't see him again.

Looking back, I feel stupid for not taking him up on the offer, first time at a con we didn't expect people to actually be outgoing and friendly so missed out on having a few drinks and hanging out with someone new. Instead we spent the first three hours of our con experience sitting in the grass eating a sandwich wondering when our other friends where showing up.

Oh well, live and learn.

i don't understand the defiance agaisnt religion either.

it has a place in society, teaches children (most) life lessons that generally promote ethics and morality.

most "in your face atheists" tend to be generally unpleasant people to deal with and highly opinionated with low education.

however most people in America and even japan subscribe to what is commonly referred to as the trend of religion of science.

which is made apparent when people tend to believe "studies say" which is the modern day equivalent of "the church decrees" followed by a statement that has no merit or logic.

I'm not religious, i don't have anything with people who are religious.

then again I never understood the concept of martin heidgger's letter on humanism, which questions the need of ethics in human behaviors, then again Heidegger and Nietzsche were the headlining figures of nihilism....

....annnnnnndd i sound like a fucking neckbeard. whatever

there is nothing wrong with you being religious, don't let the masses of far left leaning/ yet to mature and question their ideals clap at anything jon stewart screams and jokes about in a child-like manner kids get to you.

Your 'most atheists' statement is complete bullshit.
You're thinking of the fedora wearing loudmouths, MOST of us don't give a fuck.
Also it's far better to say 'studies have shown' than declare 'facts', at least a basic level intelligence can differentiate the two.
I use the phrase 'studies have shown' in conversations to indicate there is a reason to both accept the following as a possibility and to question the source and the data.

is a completely viable statement to some people, science functions much like religion in today's world.

another blatant example of this is on sites like reddit.

go to r/science anyone with a BS or higher gets a special designation, acts like a preist's collar doesn't it?

then the next argument is what does politics have to do with this? why did you call them liberals what does that have to do with anything.

everything....

you understand that liberals reject the church and treat science as a religion to an extent.

our state and federal government provides hundreds of millions of dollars in grants

"we fund these projects in order to better humankind"

is it the role of government to to better humankind? Or should the state distance itself from religion/centers of belief....and should the state on serve the purpose of governing society?

that is why you're upset OP, it's not a simple clap if you hate religion argument.

it's an argument of differing ideals of ethics, morality, politics, mannerisms etc.

I wonder what they were thinking. Walking around, not even once.

>At Touhoucon taking pictures of this group of cosplayers who randomly gathered to beat on a sinsack

>Like, it's directly above her head

Obvious population characteristics aside, even this thread has ridiculously asinine advice like "be extroverted at cons" which some people seem to translate as "invade personal space".

Nevermind that extroversion/introversion refer to energy rather than social skill.

It also seems that conventions are treated like a space where real world consequences are put on hold, the random hugging and shit was around since at least the 90s so it's only gotten worse.

I'm a cosplayer, and usually find it easy to be social with other cosplayers.
But for some reason I can't approach lolitas at cons without turning into a huge pile of spaghetti
>at con, cosplaying a magical girl
>spot girl in AP cosmic dress with her bf or something
>pretty nice coord, well accessorised
>sort of walk up to her as we pass each other in the corridor
>stammer out

>she says thanks gracefully and we keep walking
>FUCK
And the thing is that I'm sort of into lolita (own some nice main pieces, can make 3-4 complete coords, and have met my local comm) but I just find it so hard to keep it together when I see them at conventions. At least at the last one I managed to tell some girls they looked great and I loved their shoes, and it hopefully came across as gushing rather than awkward.

I can put some light onto this as a guy.
The general idea is that, when a thong sits above waistline, you pull it then release it so it 'snaps' and gives a scare, the general idea is that the girl is so weirded out by it that she won't repeat the mistake in the future.

It's a harsh method which is in no way meant to be flirty, more in the sense of 'how the fuck did you not notice this' which is supposed to create such embarassment so that the girl will fix it and not have it happen again.

>> No.7919025

>>7914408
Next time, tank up on a lot of booze at the start and then stop drinking alcohol, at some point when it all hits you'll be good and woozy enough that you won't need to drink more.

Also, next time a girl stands infront of you and starts grinding, place your hand either on her hips or on her stomach. The stomach is an orange zone though and that can either make a girl really self concious because "muh belleh" or make her really self confident because she picks it up as you like what you're holding.

Then grind.

In the second time, run a fingertip along the tattoo, then stand up, slap her butt playfully (don't go mike tyson on her ass) and compliment her on it,

If she's putting your face that close to her vagina then I doubt she'll mind physical contact of that nature.

Third story
I don't know man, just enjoy it. The girls who are staring are wondering what it's like to be in the girls shoes and the guys who are watching are all mad jel or rooting for you

There is no downside to this situation

Half, the prupose isn't to give a scare, you give a scare to reach the purpose.

The purpose is her being more thoughtful of herself next time. It's more of a 'if you do shit like this, expect to get reactions like these.' What she does with that information is up to her.

Either way, like I said, it's not meant as a flirtatious way of focussing your attention on something.

As for justifying, what is there to justify? Are you injured? hurt? were you stolen from?

I'll admit that there is a difference, what I'm talking about is, you walk past a girl, you notice it, you grab, pull and release during the walk, you don't actually stop, hold the thing in your fingers for a few seconds with a creepy smile while staring intently

that shit's freaky as fuck

This is gonna sound like a creepypasta lol

There's a man that frequents Fanime AA (maybe other cons too idk) and he carries his tablet around. He goes to each table and asks, "Have you heard of... (insert show)?" In 2013, he asked me about Dangan Ronpa, when the show hadn't aired yet. I didn't know about it so he showed me the video game characters and asked me, "Based on just appearances alone, if you could choose guy and one girl, who would you trust? Who would you not trust?" It was awkward but whatever, I humored him. He took down my answers, bowed and thanked me, then left. He was straight-faced and solemn the entire time.

My friends and I all laughed nervously about it but forgot until Dangan Ronpa aired and we recognized the characters.

Until 2014. Same man. Same tablet. This time, with more characters from DR (at this point, I had already looked into the series itself and knew the other non-anime characters). Took our answers and left.

I'm not quite sure what he does with these survey responses. Next time, I'll ask.

I'll remember that the next time someone is crossing the street without paying attention and they're about to get hit by a bus.

Maybe it's just you being so insecure about being touched that you cringe up and respond like a hedgehog. There's a difference between groping, fondling harassing and just touching.

I've already said it's a negative way of putting your attention to it, so we agree on the fact that it's a dick move and I personally wouldn't do it myself, I'd just ignore it and move on with my life, but that's me.

All I did was try to explain where this behaviour comes from, though in the context that was added to the story later on (the guy was caught holding it while staring at it, only to go like 'y.. your pantsu..' is pretty obvious that what he did and what I'm talking about is not the same behaviour.

Something I find objectively wrong, and I'm sure you can find that as well.

>I cant point it out so ill shitpost and believe my delusions because i am never wrong or at fault

Okay, typical. I wasn't trying to justify anything, I just said its more likely to happen, ya dig? You can't seem to get that through your thick skull and keep deluding yourself into thinking I'm justifying it/supporting rape/and all this other bullshit because of your delusional implications.

Oh and:
>Whenever I say something you try to dodge

Thats you.

You cannot point anything out that I ask you to. And now you're telling me that I actually meant something else when I said something. Yes, you must know what I'm saying more than me! Cool projections, you just don't want to admit you're barking up the wrong tree for reasons you made up in your head.

Nice double posting son, I'm sure the mess in your head can't really formulate anything in one go so take your time.

It's not like I pointed out in your posts how many times you think someone deserves it smugly thinking your revenge against the whores is complete. To me that is a justification and support thereof, and it's not a big leap to take either. With which I'll continue with another irony greentext:
>WOW MAN SAYING THAT THEY DESERVE IT DOESN'T MEAN I SUPPORT RAPE! I MEAN JUST BECAUSE THEY PROVOKED IT, AND ARE CLEARLY AT FAULT DOESN'T EXCUSE ANYTHING!!!

:/ How long are you gonna keep running away from this, any normal idiot would've ran out of breath trying to convince himself the other part is delusional for saying "Well you can always try talking to a girl instead"

Truly I have became Tumblr crier of tears.

By his/her logic, anyone who buys a fancy car should be aware of the chance that he might get robbed.

Just because people point out that you put yourself in a situation where bad stuff happends to you, doesn't mean they think you deserve it.

Example; A girl is playing around on the train track, then gets hit by a train and dies.

Did she deserve it? no
Could she have seen it comming? yes

can you see the difference? if not, you belong on tumblr

>being robbed for having nice things is comparable to standing on the train tracks.

Except that you can play anywhere else, and also own a car anywhere else.

>You live in a house, and people build train tracks right through it, you get hit and you die.
>Why didn't you just sell your house and leave anon, way to live in a dangerous area shoulda seen it coming man.

That feel when poor people get mugged and beaten for 50 measly bucks, shoulda seen it coming nobody should carry money on their person.

I'd like to get some clarification on this. Are you saying that it is the sole responsibility of the individual to be prepared for any given situation and that the people who react to them are absolved of subsequent actions due to the initial preparations taken by the individual?

I'm saying that if the individual ignores chance and likelyness, he/she's going to have a bad time. This isn't a responsiblity thing, there is no responsibility in play. This is all about recognizing that there are other influinces outside of your control while realizing that there are things you can do to make sure these other influinces cannot touch you.

The individual is not solely responsible for what happends to him or her but that's all the more reason to take extra precautions, because the individual is not the only factor in his or her surroundings.

There are a large number of other influinces which cannot be accounted for (strangers) and assuming that they will always be good and do no harm is laughable and horribly naïve

Just because something is unfair doesn't mean it doesn't happen, unless you live in a fantasy land ofcourse. That taken to heart, all you can really do at people who did something where he or she could expect a certain reaction only to complain when this expected reaction occurs is laugh

That's nice m8, I stand by my earlier standpoint, which is that you completely missed the point of my post.

Stay buttmad at being called out on your own bullshit though. I mean, seriously. Who is stupid enough to purposefully single out one sentance in a comment, take it completely out of context while willfully ignoring the point.
That takes a special type of snowflake.

I can't believe you're so retarded that you completely double backed on your original standpoint and then think yourself enlightened or intelligent by adopting my original standpoint of "It's good to take necessary precautions against things that might happen"

You're an absolute idiot, you are irredeemably retarded, you are such a cancer on society that you can only fail and pretend you knew something that was common sense all along.

You went from:
>LEL WHORE YOU BROUGHT A WHITE KNIGHT ALONG TO LOOK AFTER YOU GET BTFO'D 1on1 SLUT
To:
>Oh yes it's really crazy people expose themselves to danger without taking the appropriate precautions.
All in the space of me wrecking your infantile view on the world, and how everybody is at fault for getting hurt in that off chance their precautions or lack thereof didn't follow through all the way, you disgust me.

Yes I'm mad, mad that scum like you exists that will stop at nothing to lie to themselves, to lie to others, scum like you that can vomit out their retarded biased opinions and not feel an ounce of shame in hindsight so you just continue being the disgusting filth you are. Of course the most heinous bi-product of your miserable existence is that if people fold and give you an ounce of right to your idiocy then the greatest of harms is done to peoples perception of reality because suddenly, the victims are at wrong for being alive for forgetting in blisfull ignorance that we're not living in 1500's or Africa anymore where all life is uncertain.

This is the raging anger I carry for individuals such as you, the corrupt shameless liars that stop at nothing to be a hero in their own eyes of some divine logic they carry in themselves cause all others are wrong and beneath you.

No, fuck you assclown. Anybody can see through your bullshit, why even bother being this idiotic.

Take a glass of water and come back when you've cooled down.

Untill then, I'll dismiss the rage in your post and single out the point you're trying to make in the hope of establishing some form of normal discussion.
>the victims are at wrong for being alive for forgetting in blisfull ignorance that we're not living in 1500's or Africa anymore where all life is uncertain.

That's just the thing, life is uncertain. A lot less then it was in the 1500's, but there are still pedophiles out there, still psycho's, still murderers, rapists are still out there. All of these things mostly have the same source
>frustration and insecurity
as long as there are frustrated insecure people, life will not be certain.

I said, multiple times in different posts, that I have NEVER said they deserve it. When I ask you to point to any posts where I said they DO deserve it, you are unable to and shitpost and make things up, so that you can pretend I said something I didn't say. Just that its something they should know is more likely to happen if they dress that way. Not deserved, but more likely. You can't grasp this simple concept.

You can't separate the two different situations in your head because you made up so much imaginary shit.

I'm not running away from anything, I keep telling you over and over again, that your assumptions on what I said =/=what I actually said, yet you keep accusing me of saying things I didn't say. I have already reiterated my point many times, while you keep telling me that I didn't actually mean what I said, and that I meant something else. Because you clearly know what I am saying more than me.

You're like a retarded feminazi.
