Reposting my second question from the last thread -

I'm getting a custom sized dress. I want the stock size S, but with the sleeves and dress length extended for my white girl long arms and legs.

How do I make that 100% clear to my SS?

I don't want to end up with some ill-fitting mess, but she's asking for my body measurements, and I don't want it to end up really tight or anything.

>> No.7870465

What shop are you ordering from?

When I get custom I send in a full body chart with all measurements marked in cm that are relevant. The shop SHOULD realize (if they are any of the well known taobao shops you'll be fine) that they need to add wearing ease to the dress, and I've never had a custom order botched up and made to my direct body measurements.

I am sick of seeing so many people complaining about her and I have seen that some have stories that would get Melissa kicked out of the comm, but they cant share them as Melissa has threatened to be physically violent towards people who oppose her before. It is time to speak up about this. If we make a petition, then people can show that they want her kicked out without feeling threatened by the vile woman.
This person is tainting my opinions of the whole comm. She shouldn't get special treatment because she is supposedly trans. She identifies as a sissy on her Facebook page. Sissies are adult MEN who dress up as little girls for pleasure. She has brought sissy friends to meet ups (Paul I think his name was?) who made suggestive and inappropriate comments towards lolita.
>>7872833
It is my business. Melissa drama has been discussed on cgl. When people from other boards come look at this they will see us discussing sissies in lolita. If they don't know much about the fashion, they will assume it is a fetish related thing. We already have enough issues with that already without people actually accepting people who openly admit their fetish into the community and berating those who oppose it. When normalfags see "her" dressed badly and looking very much like a sissy in public with proper lolitas they will assume that lolita is a fetish. I had seen her before I even knew who she was and what she had done, and was really concerned that people would think badly of the fashion if they saw her.
She is an embarrassment to all lolitas, especially brolitas. She isn't wearing it as a fashion, but using it to fulfil her sexual fantasies.

THANK YOU. I agree with everything you said and I am a part of the community. Every time I have tried to speak up in person at meets about how uncomfortable melissa was causing me and many times the actual reasons were disregarded because they would only focus on me being transphobic. I NEVER MENTIONED HIS GENDER OR SEXUAL ORIENTATION and yet that is the only thing the lolitas seem to notice. It is not about transphobia. It has nothing to do with him being a "transsexual" - WHICH BTW HE ISNT IF HE IDENTIFIES HIMSELF WITH SISSIES AND HAVING FANTASIES ABOUT CROSSDRESSING. It is about him being a creep and a threat to the community. We have plenty of transsexual/transgendered/brolitas in the community that do not get this amount of negative attention because they don't behave the way melissa does.

I am afraid of being shunned because I am a newer lolita that was is just now trying to be active. As a brolita myself, Melissa and people like him are one of the reasons within the Lolita community I feel discredits and bruises the presence of males within the fashion's culture.

The fashion itself is about embracing femininity without being overtly sexual. Melissa is a prime example of when someone goes out of their way, despite their ignorant intentions to sully and poison this idea. Melissa is, as stated, a sissy. His only reason to cross the gender binary isn't for genuine expression but rather to live out a fantasy that seems to be based on self-degregation and possibly gender hate-he gets off from being emasculated.
Melissa, and men like him, any man who hasn't adapted good social skills and joined this community and become purposely perverted towards people are tarnishing the reputation of brolitas. There's already a stigma developing where brolitas tend to be associated with the word "creepy". Melissa simply wants to pick up girls and make them fill his sexual pleasures. He is not transsexual, and he is not transfeminine. He is guilting members of that comm into not kicking him out because no one wants to say anything that would make them look like a hater. We should be bringing brolitas closer into the comms, and stopping potentially dangerous people like Melissa.

I have: Melissa Brown is an embarrasment to the lolita community, both in California and internationally. Her presence has made many people feel uncomfortable, to the point where they will not go to meet ups where she may be present. She has made violent threats towards other people in the San Francisco community, and it has been suggested that she uses the fashion as a way to fill her sexual fantasies. Liking facebook pages such as "Sissydom" and "Transgender Crossdressing Transsexual Fantasy Video" on the same Facebook account she has created for her lolita identity shows that she considers lolita to be a fetish, as she associates the two together. Transgender, crossdresser, and sissy are completely different things.

A transgender person feels they were born in the wrong body and goes against society's gender. It is appropriate to identify them as the gender they identify with the most because if they think they are a woman, they ARE a woman (vice versa). They do not transition from man to woman or woman to man when they feel like it.
Crossdressers dress in the opposite gender. A woman can crossdress as a man. A man can crossdress as a woman.
Sissies are men who want to be highly feminized. They ideal feminine things, like lace and frills (lolita???) and live out their fantasies at their own time. Hence the difference between a sissy and a transgender person: sissies are men who pretend to be woman and revert back to being men when they are done with the fantasies while a transgender woman stays a woman 24/7, just as cis-gender people stay their own gender. crossdressing is just clothes.

Melissa is his sissy boy handle. Melissa at lolita meets is him living his sissy fantasy. Melissa at lolita meets is a man pretending to be a woman for said fantasy. Melissa is not a woman.

I don't want to make those accusations as his/her gender has nothing to do with why they don't belong in the community. Even back in BtB in 2012 they were calling Melissa a she. Regardless of what she actually is, I am not going to discuss her being a fake transgendered person as it does make the petition seem transphobic. Even if she never specifically said she was a "she" it is implied that this is her preferred pronoun. If we make this seem like it has something to do with her gender identity then it won't go anywhere.

I dont think you can have a female be a sissy because the point of it is that you are making someone feminine for a sexual purpose or when used as an insult it is just implying that a man is being too girly, and females are inherently that. Even in that link, some of the responses are saying more of age play stuff in general or saying that you dont do sissy as a female. Nobody seems to understand. I am not saying that I think sissies are the same as transgendered people. I am not saying that Melissa is male or female. All I am saying is that if we want this to be taken seriously by the people who whiteknight Melissa then it has to be clear that it has nothing to do with her being transgendered. Being a sissy is separate from being transgendered. Transgendered is an identity, being a sissy is a kink. Nobody is special because they are transgendered. If we bring up her being transgendered there is a possibility that it could backfire on us.The point that she evades being kicked out by throwing her identity around is a good point but this isn't about what she has done to avoid getting kicked out, its about why she should be kicked out. I think Melissa should be kicked out. I'm across the globe and not in this comm but it's clear many comm members are uncomfortable with having him around.
It does seem he's wearing Lolita and going to meets to live out fantasies and for sexual gratification, such fetishists shouldn't be welcome.
I have nothing against trans people and Brolita's who are genuinely in this fashion for the same reasons as we are.
But Melissa is neither trans or a genuine Brolita, he's a sissy boy fetishist.
Even if you forget about Melissa's reason of being into Lolita, he still harassed fellow comm members and openly threatened them with violence.
That alone should be enough reason to kick someone out of a comm.

I these are fine. What's more important is the frame suiting the shape of your face and eyes.
The frame itself is quite low key, as long as you don't go with huge black hipster frames you'll look fine.
If you're able to wear contacts you can also try that as well. I myself wear glasses as the only contacts I can wear are hard ones and they hurt my eyes so much it becomes unbearable.
Comfort is also important.

This really upsets me. Physical violence is never okay or should not be tolerated. Just because they have never actually hit anyone does not justify them still being in the community.

I posted it on the Facebook group. A few anonymous people voiced their fear of being outcasted due to discrimination, and since I'm not very active in the community (not by choice but work schedule conflicts) and I'm okay being a lone lolita, I don't have much to lose if this backfires on me. About 3+ months ago I ordered two pairs of shoes from Dear Lenore. After about 2 months of waiting and never receiving any word from them OR the shoes, I contacted them for a full refund. Some new customer service representative contacted me pretty quickly and said I'll get a refund on the 28th of September.

The refund didn't come on the 28th, so I filed a PayPal claim. After a few days and no response to the PayPal claim, I escalated it to a dispute. They have until the 13th of October (today) to respond to the dispute, according to PayPal.

I looked online to see what happens if the seller doesn't respond. Apparently PayPal sides with the buyer immediately, BUT if the seller doesn't have funds in their account it's apparently possible that I don't get my fucking money back...?

I'm so fucking livid. Based on Dear Lenore's shit history and shit customer service I'm super nervous I won't get my money. I'm going to wait it out until tomorrow to see what happened. Do you guys have any advice?

Email them. IW's not Bodyline, if they messed up they'll replace the item. You will have to ship your dress back to them, although if I remember right I think they reimburse your shipping fee as well as ship you the correct dress for free.

It's a good idea to doublecheck both your order and lolibrary to make sure you're right though -- a friend of mine thought she received the wrong colourway, she ordered navy and got black. But then she rechecked the site and realised her dress wasn't black, it's actually really dark blue. That's Andrea. A mtf post-op (as far as I know , she has fake tits at least). She may be a sissy however is smarter than Melissa in the fact that I've never seen any 'likes' on her FB for any of those comms or interests. She does have problems and is extremely controlling and narcissistic (she has admitted these things herself as problems). I've never felt uncomfortable in social situations with her so she's at least much better at social awareness and behavior than people like Melissa and I've never seen any threats of harm to anyone else in the comm made public on her fb. But back to the controlling aspect: she basically flipped out when she was removed as a mod of the atl comm and was seen screaming into her cell phone to the temp mod that was elected during the transition between leadership. She was at another state's meet (either FL or maybe somewhere up North?) and her freakout made a lot of the girls uncomfortable who witnessed the phone call. But no, she's basically just someone who wants to have her fingers in everything and gets mad when any power is taken from her. Which isnt a super uncommon character flaw. The only thing I really don't like about her and this is just me being a bitch, is she is one of those people who doesn't swallow her spit when she talks and you can hear it in her mouth and it kind of gathers in the corners of her lips and it grosses me the fuck out. Can someone help me with a lost package issue?

I bought a dress from LM at the beginning of September. At first I thought I was paying for express and signature confirmation, but turns out it was just PP fees - whatever. It was a dream dress and I was willing to pay whatever for it

Two weeks later I decided to check the tracking code. It said it was delivered a week ago. Wtf? I asked around my neighbors and the maintenance guys that worked around my apartment. No package

I filed a dispute but lost a month later since the tracking said delivered. I asked PayPal if they could please help me with the unresponsive seller because I couldn't file the package as lost to USPS - only the seller could.

Well it's been about two weeks and the seller is still ignoring me. I'm out of $600... I did pay with a credit card but I don't know what good it will do when PayPal told me I was shit out of luck because the tracking said it was delivered.

Ask to see tags, ask to see the lace, close ups on the print.

Usually I don't even need to look at the details because 9/10 replicas sold are two or three times the size of the real thing and it's obvious because of the size.

As far as I know oojia hasn't done DDC or CDC yet though she apparently took deposits on DDC according to some post in rufflechat on fb.

Most of the PC replicas have fringe instead of pom pom lace and the chest bows are horribly deflated and look way too big compared to the original.

Well, the colors are usually off in the Vampire Requiem replicas.I know in the black colorway it's especially noticible on the gates. The gates on the real one are a silvery grey and have some blended shading of purple on them and the replicas it looks more like a flat grey and the purple isn't as well blended/shaded. Beginner here and I'm in dire need of accessories. A lot of tutorials and guides give a good idea on how many main pieces/blouses/footwear you should have but idk none of them go in depth with accessories aside from being like "you wanna have like a headbow". What I read from your post:
> you already have a wardrobe of some size, including some accessories
>You find it difficult to actually put together coords
>you *think* you need accessories to make coords

Lolita's not the kind of fashion that you can solve by buying random crap according to some made-up quota. It's not the number of items you have, everything you buy needs to be able to match other things you buy in order to make a coord.

Your best way forward is to make a collage of items you already have, and post it to the coord help thread. Ask for help in putting together outfits, ask for anons to suggest missing pieces that would make your wardrobe more versatile. Then , based on those suggestions, go out and buy stuff. Don't just buy random things because anons who have never seen your wardrobe say it's versatile.

She'll look like a blimp in a babydoll cut. I'd definitely go for a normal waist, then get some bulk in accessories or something like that for the top. In the ita thread, there's a picture of a girl who literally looks like a snowman, and that should be a cue for what to avoid.
If she can sew, you should get her to make a really simple jsk, and you can help design so it doesn't look ita, so you can insure that it will be a full enough skirt to compensate for the waist. I think the main problem with most plus-size lolitas is that the sillouette goes to hell. If you can use your body fat for a petti, something is wrong.
Just some suggestions. I hope everything goes well!

I'll be honest here and what I'm saying is not meant malicious.
She should forget about wearing Lolita. She should wear what flatters her shape and unfortunately Lolita is not going to look flattering.
What's most important in Lolita is the shape, and because she has such a large belly she will never have the right proportions.
Waist needs to be smaller than the bust and hips, even when plus sized.
She could try a corset but I doubt it will do enough. No matter what shape she'll try, be it A-line, cupcake or babydoll it will look off and she will also look even larger wearing a petticoat.
It's nice that you are trying to help this girl, but some people are lost causes.

Your best bet is to commission a seamstress. It's the best way to make sure she gets clothes that fit properly and maintain the silhouette without making her look out of proportion. The biggest issue with plus size lolita is the fit, especially around the waist, because the gathered fabric there doesn't drape right if the dress is too small. It doesn't matter what size you are, an ill-fitting dress is going to look awful no matter what. Fit is key, it will make or break the outfit. I've seen good coords fail utterly because the skirt/JSK/dress just didn't fit the girl wearing it.
Go for tights, not socks of any sort. They'll be more flattering. I'd use short sleeve blouses and wrist cuffs to elongate the arm, but make sure the sleeves don't dig into her skin. I'd go for a natural wig, no giant volume or twin tails, and a beret or flower crown instead of a head-eating bow to help balance the sillouhette.
No waist less or high-waisted dresses. She needs something to balance out her figure.

Ok, might get eaten alive for replying but I have those same measurements and am (surprisingly) able to make gothic and classic coordinates work. I've been into the fashion for a long time, though... so I'd like to think I have a seasoned eye for finding flattering plus size pieces.

Depending on her body type, she needs to find out if she looks better in separates or dresses. While I do own a few jsks, separates work best for me (especially high waist skirts with boning, to take my waist in a bit). Custom sizing or alterations are pretty much her only options unless she finds something secondhand in the plus size comm. Introduce her to Lady Sloth, I'm not a big fan of their dresses but they make really nice custom size blouses and decent skirts.

Shapewear is a must, Spanx and control top tights go a long way. A good bra is another essential item. Although my waist is larger than my bust, with the right hi-lift bra and some spanx I can usually create the illusion that my waist is smaller than it is. Torrid sells great plus size bras, just make sure she gets the right size.

I don't recommend blouses with buttons, at all. Boleros are a nice way to look polished and hide upper body flaws. Sometimes I incorporate waist belts into my outfit to create the illusion of a smaller waist. Wear tights instead of socks, they're much more slimming. For hair and makeup, have her research how to do face contouring, and find hairstyles with face-framing layers to appear smaller. I hope these tips help!

(inb4 shut up lazy landwhale)
Yes, I know these measurements are not healthy but I figured I could at least provide tips from personal experience. I know losing weight will do her (and myself) very well in the long run. I get it. It's not easy to dress well in lolita at this size but I just wanted to show it's possible if people are willing to put in a little work.

>DDC had a release where everyone and their brother could have bought it. Heck, people could have bought 2 and altered it!
>CDC (especially in Navy/Blue) is so rare to see in person.
I get really excited when I see rare, genuine prints. Exclusivity is a big deal in Lolita, and replicas mess it up.

On a related note, have any of you that own the real versions of one of these rare dresses get accused of wearing replicas? It happens to me all the time in one specific dress- I think because people are used to seeing the replica and rarely see a real version. I was wondering if anyone else had this issue.

I was reluctant to post a collage because I didn't wanna seem super lazy and be like "guys make my outfits". Maybe my lack of accessories isn't as much of a problem as a lack of blouses/legwear is? Or my incoherent style? Or just my lack of creativity lol.

Okay, you've got a small but very diverse wardrobe, I think that's making it hard to match things together. I can see most of the items working out with just one or two coords with the other items.

>one-note-lita

Being slightly one-note lita actually makes it easier to have a small but easy-to-coord wardrobe, because if you wardrobe only had a few colours, eg white and red, and a single theme (eg roses) you'll be able to match everything to everything else.

With regards to jewellery, the one that comes to mine is white pearls. It would pop on the red bolero, red dress and brown blouse, it would match the lighter coords (whip showcase and the white Chess Story dress). So, pearl necklaces and maybe a bracelet or two so that your arms don't look so bare. Try to pick necklaces long enough to go under the collars but still look good.

For a second choice, you could consider getting gold accessories with rose themes on them, maybe in red, this would match the red dress, the white Chess Story dress, the cat skirt, and probably whip showcase.

For a more versatile wardrobe, I'd say you could try getting a pair of brown shoes that match the brown blouse, you'd be able to do the brown blouse with the Chess Story dress, or the red dress then.

I don't see any socks or bags in the collage... but then I don't see the flower crowns and berets you mentioned earlier, so I just assumed you have enough to match your dresses.

With Chess Chocolate look at the bottom lace. On the real one it's gathered lace, on every replica I've seen it's never gathered. Plus AP doesn't use a typical lace for that bottom lace, so if you can see a closeup of the bottom lace and it's not a special lace with AP and crowns embroidered on it, then it's a replica.

Also if there's a waist bow it's very easy to tell. Have yet to see a replica get their waist bows to look as nice and full in the center as AP does. Replicas have skinny center on their bows.

Not sure if i can ask this here because no craft thread or accessories thread but it's lolita related a bit because i plan to buy gothic lolita items.
I'm a jewellry maker, usually i do kawaii stuff like sweets, fruits, cute animals (i started to do more realistic fruits or sweets following japanese blogs) with polymer clay but i'm unsure how to do more gothic accessories that are less "cute" and more elegant like crosses. Any tutorial/advice about gothic accessories with polymer clay?

Honestly, gothic styles rely more on being classy and elegant, so polymer clay isn't really a good material for gothic as it looks, well, less classy than metal accessories. You might be able to make some roses or something.

There was a girl making polyclay gothic stuff on etsy but I can't remember her shop name. (She also made sweet accessories.) Her gothic stuff was mostly clay roses, and I remember she also had books that were really cool. Her clay work was very detailed though.

I don't want to make a new thread solely for this, but here are some questions for you seagulls:

>How long have you been wearing the fashion?
>What subset of the fashion do you wear/which style is your favorite?
>Do you have any dream dresses?
>Have you acquired any of your dream dresses?
>Are you part of a comm or are you a loner?

Hell yeah I'll respond to my own questions.

>How long have you been wearing the fashion?
Only for a couple of months, tbh. I'm a huge newbie but I've learned a lot from lurking here, I think.

>What subset of the fashion do you wear/which style is your favorite?
I like toned down sweet and classic. I love gothic but I don't think I could pull it off.

>Do you have any dream dresses?
RRL JSK or OP in the lavender colorway. I also love Bright Starry Night from Btssb, also in the lavender colorway.

>Have you acquired any of your dream dresses?
I did get Cosmic, which was a dream dress. But I'm selling it soon.

>Are you part of a comm or are you a loner?
I'm in a comm, but I haven't gone to any meets yet.

>What makes you happiest about lolita fashion?
I just love how elegant it can look and how pretty it can make me and others feel. It's like stepping into another world.

>How long have you been wearing the fashion?

Overall I prefer classic but I also wear Gothic and Casual from time to time.
>Do you have any dream dresses?
JetJ dragon dress ;_;

Most dresses I currecntly own used to be dream dresses at some point.
>Are you part of a comm or are you a loner?
I used to be part of a comm but I left because I couldn't connect with anyone and I have more fun wearing lolita around my normalfag friends.
>What makes you happiest about lolita fashion?
That it made me discover my feminine side. Before lolita I used to be tomboyish. I only wore pants and ugly parkas 24/7, the less effort it took, the better. I used to be lazy and without any ambitions, not only regarding my appearance. Lolita really helped me getting my shit together and taking care of myself. I now value my feminine self and excursively wear dresses and skirts (I have one pair of pants left for physical work out, but that's it).

I put in an order through Baby SF to special order from Baby Japan and I still haven't been contacted about it being in/me needing to pay the final shipping. They say on the website to allow 4-8 weeks and this is the 8th week since I've ordered. I called 2 weeks ago and they told me it was probably going to come in "soon" with their October order, and my order is still in the system. However, I need this item particularly by the end of the month and I'm also starting to be stressed out over the fact that well, it's been 8 weeks. What should I do from here?
