What are some good indie brands that have dresses or skirts for about $100 that would be easy to order from? I own a few dresses from lady sloth. With her you need to be specific on measurements. Also if it looks shady in pics it will be shady IRL. >> No.7868279

>>7867983
For that particular JSK release it's very much a "you get what you pay for" dress. The material is soft but thin, and the print itself looks like it might've been scanned at a resolution lower than 300dpi.

Anyone with experience with the wand and paint bucket tool in photoshop can see where the designer attempted to shortcut the background color change because lines aren't crisp, there are missing fills and overall it doesn't look cleaned up. You'd think that in designing the image they would've at least kept the background and elements on separate layers.

Generally looks like a pencil scan with color fills and a lot of sloppy mistakes. If things had been vectored or cleaned up more it'd be a very good and cute buy for the price because everything else is fine.

Look up narrow hemming. The stitching on that blouse is just serging. It will stop fraying, but looks rough. At least do a rolled hem, if you must serge.

Apparently they only do sales through personal weibo, they don't have a real sales community. So it's not really easy to find it that way... You might find stuff on ershou though (taobao's 2ndhand section)

really? There are many indie accessory shops selling these felt (or whatever the material is, i'm no expert) deers hairbands etc, no fur involved aha. I doubt anyone would fine real fur anything of good taste nowadays anyway, so i wouldn't worry about that

>>7886210
ooh glad i don't like this dress that much, I prefer animal prints like the red fox dress above. I guess that's saving me quite some money aha. Thanks for your reply, now I have some serious colour decisions to make

Looks like it is covered in rabbit fur. It's a cheap material anon's concern is real.

You'd be surprised anon. I bought a pair of pretty cheap wool gloves on taobao that had what looked like fake fur trim, turns out it was real rabbit fur and I feel horrible about it because buns and I'm a vegetarian. I havent even worn them or sold them because I am ashamed to have bought them, the listing didn't mention anything about it either.

Maybe donate the gloves to charity? I'm in the same boat as you wear I don't wear or buy fur and was gifted something with fur trim - I donated it to a program that gives warm items to the homeless.

What are the chances of someone making a big fuss over someone wearinf fur at a meet?
It's winter so I was thinking of busting one of my vintage stoles out(no head or paws attached).

I've never had a problem with my stoles or other real fur items.
If anyone gives you flak about it just ignore them.

The thing about vintage fur is that the animal would have been long dead anyways, so it's not like it makes much of a difference. It was already killed, might as well put its sacrifice to good use. Now, I can see not wanting to buy new fur in order to stop more animals from being killed going forward, but when its vintage it's different, as far as I'm concerned.

>> No.7888308

>>7887901
This exactly, no real vegetarian/vegan/animal rights activist/whatever is going to give you shit if it's vintage.
Throwing it out would be making their deaths meaningless, and donating it just means another person would have it.
If somebody is grossed out or uncomfortable touching it, then that's different, though they probably won't kick up a fuss just because you're in their general vicinity.

Damn. I swear Krad is like the Indy version of Aatp. Great quality, amazing designs as far as I'm concerned they are on the same level as the popular brands. Gotta love 'em.

If they make a fuss they be sandy cunts.
Seriously. I don't wear real fur (mostly because of allergies) but I wouldn't make a fuss if someone wore it, especially if it's vintage or secondhand.
Most people wear leather shoes (myself included) and almost never hear anyone complain about this yet it's not really any different.
You should do whatever you want anon.

Augh. I adore the side-lacing on this, but the boob area probably isn't going to play too nice with me.
I haven't bought any lolita in a while though, specifically waiting for this, so maybe I can get both versions and sell on whichever doesn't look so hot.

i'm so sorry this happened! I only buy from normal fashion stores that clearly state the item is made from artificial fur. Never know rabbit fur is cheap material....poor bunnies. I think donating is probably best?

i'm glad they announced on facebook they are not and will not use any real fur in their designs. Cant wait to get the brooches!!

Weeeelll...

I ordered a custom dress from her and she told me the lace would be different from the original but it would still be cotton lace. It WAS cotton lace, but the original had embroidered lace and this was that cluny lace that looks like crochet dyed to match, except not quite. Also she had my exact measurements, yet the shirring panel didn't pucker very much...if I want my shirring stretched completely out I'll wear AP thanks.

I have a Liz Lisa stole that turned out to really be rabbit fur. My bad for not reading the website carefully enough (they did mention it, but I am so not used to seeing even real leather on Japanese sites that I didn't think about it), but then I've eaten rabbit so my personal major concern is that rabbit fur sheds badly and looks like shit when it does. It is really not very good fur. It is also extremely common in China. If you think it's real fur and would be bothered by that (whether it's about animal rights or material quality), don't risk it.
