I emailed them about making a plugsuit and they seemed to not want to make a Eva plugsuit, and when I asked about commissioning for another suit they said I would have to come to there shop in Japan to get measured and fitted.

I think Anatomic latex is the only ones making Plugsuits at the moment if you can afford them.

Is latex really the only acceptable looking material for a plugsuit? It looks cool but if you are going for versmilitude maybe something like neoprene? I'll admit I am confused by the difference between latex and pvc/vinyl or if one is more easy to sew than another.

A lot of people will argue for either latex or neoprene. I personally really dislike latex and think it has way too much shine; the suits always looked matte with a subtle sheen to me, at least in the original series, so I'd go more with neoprene or even a spandex over latex/vinyl.
