Just got some more of my pics back. My friend likes to play around with the colors, remove unecessary objects, like boats and shit. We were out a state park and it was seriously the hottest fucking day. Also, inb4 fattychan. Yea, working on losing some weight. Slowly but surely. As much as i love this costume, the one regret i have with it, is that it does nothing for what little figure i have. Makes me look 30-40lbs heavier. I'm happy with the quality of this outfit. I did dirty everything up, it just doesn't come up in photos as well.

The idea of self post threads is to post things that you yourself have made. Those are TJack's lenses, and, assuming you are the same spiderman cosplayer from older threads, than it's safe to assume you didn't sew the suit, or design the subdye pattern.
Essentially, you are just modelling other peoples work.

I thought the idea of a self post thread is to... self post. Post yourself in your cosplays, even if you've bought them/bought pieces.

And if you want to show off stuff you've made, you'd take it to WIP threads or, if you must, specifically mention and talk about how you made them.

Hi there.
Those are actually not TJack lenses, they are lenses that I bought 3d Printed from a person off TheRPF. I moulded them myself and added fencing to it (painted it white).
But that is a good observation, they do look really similar.

And as for the self-post thread, I always thought it was a self-post thread.
I did not know it was a self-made thread. OP didnt clarify. But thanks for the concern

The shoes aren't just for your feet, they are also needed so the costume doesn't get fucked up and torn to shreds when walking around.

Also, you don't need any fabric in your lenses. I did mine with two kitchen splatter screens crossed at an angle, painted white, and I can see perfectly fine out of them with no trouble at all. And even close up, it's not easy for anyone to see inside, as you can see here.

Did you make your own Kyubey? He's a cutie. I'd suggest layering your wig a little around the sides of your face; you have a pretty, oval face but it's being obscured by the wig, and you may find that it's hard to get good lighting in photos like that, especially when your costume has a hat too.

Thanks, and yeah, wig work is definitely my weakest area. Jack's isn't actually that bad, but I had it stored poorly for weeks before I dug it out again for that shoot and it didn't spring back too well. Bridget was, and still is a horrid mess. I will absolutely redo that entire wig, as well as the shoes and handcuff before I wear it again.

Since it already has holes in it, I would recommend getting some cheap insoles and put them inside it, and then separate the soles from a pair of aqua shoes and use shoe goop to affix them to the bottom. Be sure to get some insoles in there though. You don't want that stuff touching any part of your skin, and most socks aren't thick enough to prevent that from happening.

>> No.7858666

To be fair this look like a yukata cosplay. The kimono is obviously handmade (see the volume of these flowers ?) with the wrong type of fabric and won't drape. It's obviously meant to be an hanhaba obi and you're not supposed to wear a obi-ita with it, since it's lounge wear. Yeah it's sloppy, for sure, but girl I've seen so much sloppily tied the wrong way with boobs hanging out yukata yesterday that this one looks ok for a cosplay.

>> No.7858667

>>7858661
well no shit it's a yukata, that doesn't really excuse bad kitsuke brah. It looks like your yukata is both too big and too short compared to the source material. Honestly it's not a terrible attempt but there's definitely room for some improvement.

Yeah, yukata still means proper kitsuke. Sorry to break your weaboo dreams and everything, but people still don't wear yukata all sloppy like that IRL. The only reason it's slightly crinkled in the figurine is because her arms are raised. No self respecting Japanese person would go into public wearing a kimono the way you're wearing yours. There is a difference between yukata worn at a hot springs (which basically amount to pajamas) and yukata worn as daily wear.

Nothign against you but guuuurl, have you even been to a matsuri ? Sloppy yukata everywhere ! I'm not speaking about girls who actually love kimono and wear it as often as possible, I'm talking about regular japanese people with their store bought sets with tsuke-obi. Not defending her either because it's obviously a default of her cosplay (althought thanks to the mask you get to understand that's supposed to be matsuri related) but don't put japanese people on a pedestal, I've seen some motherfucking uninmpressive kitsuke on youngsters.

>> No.7858678

>>7858672
That's not how a kimono works. Kimono have straight seams. You don't put darts into a kimono. You just need to learn how to fold it and wrap it around your body properly. If you take it in on the sides the entire fold line and hem is going to hang crooked and not fit together properly.

I'm also guessing with 100% accuracy that you don't have half of the accessories needed to do this, as before mentioned. If you don't have the appropriate undergarments and ties, it's going to look like shit as you walk around throughout the day from coming untied. You need a datjime and obi-ita, at the absolute bare minimum, to keep from looking like a total weaboo who has no idea what they're doing. Just being honest here.

>> No.7858685

>>7858678
Noted. The ties are there as well, and I took the easy route and sewed one long rectangle to connect it with velcro along with a detachable bow instead of a normal obi due to time constraints so thankfully I don't have to really worry about it coming undone. I followed all of the videos I saw, but I just wasn't able to tuck it in probably, though I'll definitely keep that in mind the next time I wear it. Thanks for all your help.

>> No.7858686

>>7858675
Oh, I totally agree. I must meant in terms of bare minimum tucking and folding. You see a lot of armpit gape and sloppy kitsuke, but nothing so horrible that it looks like it's been slept in and then tied on while bent over at a 90º angle. Most kids make an effort, even if it does mean that they're hiking their hems up to their shins and have bunching at centerline. At least, in my own observations.

>> No.7858688

>>7858686
honestly, there are a few really stupid online tutorials that tell you to put the kimono hem a few inches above your ankles so...

>> No.7858689

>>7858685
Yeah, a datejime is a belt that holds your kimono together in place so your kimono doesn't bunch up and look like shit, and an obi-ita is a board that goes underneath whatever obi you're wearing (how the obi constructed makes no different whatsover) that keeps the obi from crumpling in on itself and looking like shit. They also aren't expensive accessories and can be purchased on e-bay for a pittance, if not handmade for even less. So, look into kitsuke websites. There's a lot of information out there if you look.

>> No.7858691

Small towels, like a folded tea towel, can be used to pad out curves if you have an hourglass shape. If you are not built like a tube, you're going to need to use padding to help round out your shape for the obi to sit properly and hold it's shape. That's why an obi-ita is important, it provides an added base for the obi to sit on top of; it's why the obi is mostly flat in nearly every picture you've ever looked at. They make padding specifically for this, but towels work fine for people who aren't into collecting and wearing kimono. Do also note that this means you will need an extra datejime or extra koshi-himo to hold the towels in place too.

Another tip is to wear a sports bra or some other kind of flattening bra (short of binding, that much shouldn't be necessary) so that your boobs aren't so prominent. I'm only a b cup but I noticed my yukata and kimono sit a lot more neatly if I wear something to flatten my bust. Your boobs should never sit over the top of your obi if you can help it. I know this is hard if you've got big boobs but do what you can to minimise them and you'll look a lot more accurate to proper kitsuke

Honestly i'm not surprised it'd creep you out but i did it to match what i felt the character would have access to. To be fair, the only thing that phased me personally was the smell, and i'm a janitor so i've smelled some shit. I didn't gag or anything just damn. It's not for everyone though, i get it.

Great skull
Lovely photo
I'd work on the tears at the bottom of the fabric though. They look very artificial and scissor-cut.

you didnt have to be bursting at the seams of your chest. You did alright, your face suits the character and thats what sells it.
Love your taste in vidya.

the one in the middle is adorable, 10/10 would make her morning tea

This isn't tumblr, your fat is coming out of your dress. Next time make something that fits better.

Yeah I ran out of time so I cut it quickly in the hotel room with scissors. I'm definitely going to touch up the tears a bit. I also want to weather it to make it look more battle worn

Skull looks like it's made out of cartboard, not convincing at all. The shredding is atrocious, obviously cut with a scissor. That shade of Christmas tree green for the fabric. The photoshopping on this... where do I even begin: the awful blurring? The highlights that are very obviously DRAWN onto the hair?

Seriously compliments are great and I'm not one for pointless bitching but this is awful? Is someone samefagging here because otherwise it can't be explained

I know it's not. I'm honestly surprised it took over two weeks for someone to make a fat comment. It's okay though bc I'm confident in my body. I knew what I was getting into when I posted here. You're comments don't bother me. ^^

Aw someone's jelly bc I know everything you said isn't true. The skull is the best part, it's one of the best nelliel skulls on the internet. This cosplay cost next to nothing bc the fabric was left over from a previous project so that comment doesn't bother me. As for post production my photographer did a great job and the highlights were already in the wig.
