I just wanted to start a thread about this group because it makes me cringe even more than CoF. All the questions are itas asking "is cosplay lolita?" and "should I buy milan00b?", and the mentors talk out their fucking asses.

Anyone have any experience with the group? Also, are there any groups with the same kind of mission statement as LFM who do a better job of it?

>> No.7805930

I doubt there will be a similar-but-better page like this, anon. The way I see it, anyone who even bothers with a page like this will either be a lazy perma-ita expecting to get the style handed to them, snowflakes fishing for asspats, or Mother Hen types with a god complex, and you invariably end up with the blind leading the blind.

I was in the group when it first started up, when some of the more decent mentors were active. At the time, it was ok. It wasn't just the mentees asking questions, mentors were encouraged to ask questions as well, so you got to see more "advanced" questions and it also showed that even mentors had questions. Those questions helped me more than other beginners questions really. But then the group became too big, and the better mentors left either because it was too much to handle, or just life in general. And instead of posting on LJ or even here, the mod put up applications on the damn group itself, so you got a lot of Beginners leading slightly newer beginners. Couple that with that godawful mod laylette or whatever her name is, and you've got a recipe for disaster.

I don't know about that, I'm none of those things but I like the idea of helping new lolitas. Of course, if they're really bad I couldn't guarantee I'd stick with it, I imagine a lot of newbies who'd get involved would be super stubborn itas.

I was in this group for like a week thinking I could get help on my coords, but the kinds of questions the newbies were asking were waaaay below my level (like think "is a petticoat REALLY necessary???" type shit) and the way the mentors responded gave me a sense that they thought they were God's gift to lolita fashion. EX: Laelette once directed a newbie to "look over her [Laelette's] pictures" to "get a better understanding of how a lolita should look". Among other conceited things that were said that I took caps of at the time but have since deleted. So I never asked for coord help and left after a few days of seeing the same thing over and over.

Did those antidepressants get you up to a 130cm bust, though? Different anon and I understand that some circumstances lead to people gaining weight beyond their control, but if someone is so big they can't fit through a door and take up two airplane seats that is not purely a side effect of medication. Someone like >>7806510 might also have thyroid or other medical issues but you're seriously in denial if you think she didn't at least partially get that way due to bad lifestyle choices.
