Can we please have a shoe thread?

Post links, reviews, sizing questions, etc.

I'm trying to find some good flat shoes for lolita that are comfortable to walk around in all day. Other than tea parties and ballet flats, does anybody have any suggestions? I plan to mostly wear toned down sweet lolita so I'd like to find some cute shoes in pink, white or purple. Thank you in advance for your help!

>> No.7799935

Anything with low wedges will be comfortable long long periods of time. The best thing I can recommend is breaking the shoes in well beforehand and gel insoles. Sweet, sweet gel insoles.

I will never find VW Anglomania 3 strap heels in gold. Ever.
But man I wish I would!

I also need comfy shoes, and good ones for more classic and elegant coords. Sometimes Mojo Moxy and Irregular Choice has something good...but it's been a while since I looked.

Also, gel insoles will definitely save your feet.

SO, long story short, a week ago I ordered melissa ballet flats from the melissa shop and I received an email saying they are in fact out of stock - a week after I ordered them.
This leaves me with exactly a week to get a pair of shoes for a big event.

Ladies, any ideas on what shoes I should go with?? Any place that ships super quickly? Pic very much related. I wear size 7.5 us or 23.5/24

Im sorry if this post doesn't belong here, but I figured I'd give it a go since this thread is dedicated to all shoes.

I don't think they are that dark. They look pretty bright.

From this customer picture, the shoes look bright. I have the dress that's pictured and that dress is a very, very dark blue. The shoes contrast quite a lot.

If you also look at the pic by reviewer Colleen, you can see how the laces and shoe contrast quite a lot. I don't think this will match that many navy coords unless you have various shades of blue.

I've seen these IRL and imo the color is lovely, but the ventilated material and the shape overall make them look sort of bowling or golf shoe-ish and not very flattering for lolita. The only pair that most lolitas want are the triple strap anglomania heels, gold being the most popular (gold shoes are now a hit regardless of the brand). I've seen maybe the triple strap flats being worn, but they were reminiscent of those bordello boots that were popular way back when.

I have these, too! Do you have any tips or suggestions for legwear to make it "match better" with pink pieces? I've found that it's slightly-lavender tint makes it look weird next to normal pinks, and absolutely impossible to wear with peaches.

So I lost the link to this site, but I believe it was EU (prices in Euros I think) and it sold secret shop shoes. I think it had a pink background but nothing I search brings it up. I remember someone posting in one of the FB sales groups looking for the ETC gold shoe replicas and someone linked this site that had all the secret shop models available, does anyone know which site I'm talking about?

Have been looking through the sales groups for the post and googling dozens of different keywords to try and pull it up.

They had tps, the etc knock offs, the ap engi boots, the VM short boots, etc.

Was not clobba, this place wasn't based in US.

That's both part of it and not part of it.

They do look a bit plastic and a bit like jelly. It's kind of cool to have shoes that are a bit see-through, or that aren't made of conventional materials like normal canvas or leather.

And yes, they do look a bit like Barbie shoes, and Barbie was a style icon. They're fun, they're not meant to be high end hand crafted heritage leather shoes to begin with, just fun shoes.

At the same time, for "plastic shoes", I really haven't found any other brand that is Melissa's equivalent. Other el cheapo jelly/plastic shoes tend to have shiny plastic and have ridges in weird places where the molds come together. Melissa is the one brand that consistently does GOOD plastic shoes.

I guess if you aren't into the plastic/jelly shoes look then it all looks the same to you, just take our word for it, the quality is definitely there.

Has anybody actually tried shoe stretching to trying to up the size a bit on shoes? I think it works depending on the shoe material.

Also I was passing by a Clarks shop in the mall the other day and noticed some really cute shoes in their window display. From what I can tell looking at their website, their Ciera line would work nicely with classic and goes up to at least a size 12.

From reading reviews, their shoes are suppose to be pretty damn comfy. If they're that comfortable and last nicely, might be worth the 100+ pricetag.

Oh yes, I do it all the time (same anon you replied to). It does, in deed, depend on the material. Real leather stretches very good, fabric not so much. PU leather is nearly impossible to stretch. In the case of these melissas there is nothign to stretch as it's plastic.
Thank you for sharing those shoes! Sadly I live nowhere close to the US, and each time I try to purchase shoes from USA or Europe, the shipping costs are ridiculous. Payless won't ship to my country, they do have stores here but they only carry shoes up to size 11 and refuse to order some in size 12 extra for me, even if I pay in advance (bloody bastards). I think I'm pretty fucked. I'm buying shoes fromChina now. It's risky, because in many cases the fit tsn't right either and they may be poorly made, but it's my only way to find pretty shoes.

I bought shoes kinda like RHS without straps. Unfortunately they are kind of too big for me, and this kind of insoles are doing nothing. I thought about getting the silicone insoles which you put inside the shoe to help the feet stay in place, but I still don't know if they are going to hold clothed skin.

Would sewing two straps in X shape help me with this problem?

Same here! I'm a US size 12-13 (depending on the brand) and pretty much the only thing stopping me from getting into J-fashion is lack of cute shoes in big sizes. The shoes in >>7839976 are adorable and come in a 12, but I've never worn Clarks before so I'm not sure of their sizing, and even then I'm quite tall already so I'm not too keen on wearing anything that'll make me taller.

The only site I can find that sells decent shoes for big feet is Barefoot Tess, but there don't seem to be many styles that catch my eye for the fashions I'm interested in (classic lolita and otome). If anyone has any links that'd be of use I'd appreciate it!
