My little sisters want to cosplay from this with me so I need to make a Wy one for the youngest and Belgium possibly for the other. I want to fix up my Cuba cosplay. Since he doesn't have too many alt outfits, I wanted to make a baseball uniform for him. Also need to make Molossia to match my sister's Wy. I don't know how any of this is getting done by Hetalia Day.

I want to be Taiwan and get a Asian countries group together, but none of my cosplay friends are or were into it.

I've totally given up on my old Hetalia group, these days I just cosplay who I want when I want. Saves a lot of faffing, although getting a group together is so much fun it's sort of worth it. Why don't you just make the costume? You can always get a group together once you have it.

People still do hetalia day? How are the events now are they super weeby or pretty chill?

As a historian it kind of upsets me when I see a Hetalia cosplay because I feel as though I should be able to go up to one of them and talk about the nation on display in relatively easy terms, but then I remember the source material and cry.

Also, SS and Brown Shirt uniforms is not cosplay unless you're cosplaying a Nationalist Socialist. Even then, what?

I'm actually pretty excited for next year. I'm alone on this and hopefully some people recognize it but I'm planning to do chess China. It's been a long while since I've been wanting to do this design.

actually, back when the fad started there were plenty of people interested in history and politics that liked the series as light-hearted fun. i knew a lot of them, and some are still into it, but not nearly as much. you might still be able to find those types of fans but it's a baby's first anime/cosplay series now so there really won't be many if any at cons now.

My comm is half and half. There are a mix of ages, from 20-somethings to 12 yr olds (but why their parents trust us with their kids, no idea) so we get all sorts. However, everyone behaves themselves for Hetalia Day since we hold it in a place known for kicking out cosplayers. We just take pictures and play games with no incidents.

TBH, I don't have a real official group right now (just a bunch of friends), but a good friend took over control of the one I used to admin. And it seems to be going relatively okay. Most of the people seem to be young though. I'm sensing she's getting fed up with generalized whining, though. (I did too, when I was running everything on my own. And the kiddies wonder why I'm such a jerk.)

Man, just when I think I'm done cosplaying France I always see these wonderful France cosplays and it makes me want to bring him out again.

But a part of me realizes how shit my cosplay is compared to these ones. I need to step up my France game big time. Maybe I'll work on him in secret and break him out again brand-spankin-new next year or something.

If anything I'd say it's getting back to that stage? I have to confess I have a habit of not hanging out with other Hetalians at cons, but the corner of the fandom I have online is definitely more historically based. Our average age is also somewhere around 23/4 though so that could be it.

Look for those in historical outfits? It's not a sure fire method, but from experience it wields better results than aiming for those in the default world war costumes or even worse those in modern day/casual outfits.

I'm actually happy to see a Hetalia thread for once.
I also tend to not hang that much around with the hetalians at cons but that's mostly because they focus a lot on playing fanservice games and I'm not so into that.
I really want my cosplay group to cosplay hetalia again but we all kinda split into different fandoms

What are your guys opinions on all the ask bloggers?
Some of them seem good enough but others I've had to read their URL to figure out which character they were.
Generally I think some of the ask blogs are nice but a lot of them also focus too much on "preventing anon hate" and using lots of time to support the bloggers getting the hate when in reality they could just.... block the user and... delete the ask..

A friend and I run Hetalia history panels at every con we can and we get pretty good attendance; trust me, history-loving Hetalians are far from gone! Give it a shot next time you see someone.

I personally dislike them and think they're in line with the "Character Q&A panel" culture that's taken over at cons. I don't really care to see another person's take on a character's personality. I like seeing cosplay, but I've never really cared to read/follow someone's fan interpretation.

So she just chose for them. It's all planned out in these notes from an official meeting... Apparently, the group is being sorta divided into people doing meets in the north/south, an 18+ group, and the main group.

Afest in Dallas. The saddest part is that jelly was only responsible for 1 of those panels. I ran 2 of them, admittedly. But no need for 8 panels. There were 2 ask a nations outright, and 18+ ask! and a historical ask.

Nice cosplay! Haha this was version 2.0 actually. I had to remake the hat because I defied and Mae am icon 2 years ago when the drawing first came out. Remade as a more accurate tricorn but kept the late 18th and early 19th century feel.

I would love to get a whole group of pirate Nordics. I'd kill for a good group of plain Nordics. Took me 2 years to finally snag an Iceland.

Get a crepe hair wool braid for the beard, and apply with spirit gum. They sell online for about 10-12$ last I checked. It looks 100% better than the drawn lines.

I managed to get a group once, lasted one con before it descended into drama because the Denmark and Sweden were dating and couldn't cope with me taking pictures with the Sweden as Finland.

Might have another one, though, if it ever actually comes together. Although our Iceland will be the tallest of us, whoops.

Somehow I managed to find a pirate group that were complete aside from Finland once too, but I was hugely fat at the time and the pictures are just atrocious. Then afterwards I found out that they were hardcore SJWs and noped out of there.
