They've done a bunch of casual Roxy (also in the swimwear shot from the last thread), their latest cosplay being from july and their latest "serious" cosplay (fancy dreamer Dirk) from june. They've also done fancy dreamer Roxy (pic related) as well as Vriska, some sort of magical boy Dave with Murtunacaptor, samurai Dirk (their Dirk wig is the most unfortunate attempt I've seen in a while) and standard Roxy.

They do have a few really good cosplays, but a lot of what they do is also very average or even mediocre so I do think they fit well on pretty-tier.

The lack of good photoshoots combined with the quality of her recent cosplays (Grandma Jade, the Aradia debacle) makes me think we should just take her off. She's the odd man out on the list, even on pretty tier, when it comes to quality photos. Everyone else has them but her. If there's really nothing nice for us to look at, what's the point? Selfies and hallway shots have held other cosplayers up in the past from getting on the list. I don't see why it shouldn't count against SS too when that's really all that's in her arsenal.

I would honestly love to see some more creative takes on the sprites like this. I know a lot of Jadesprites use long skirts to create the illusion of a tail of sorts, but I would love to see this done with other characters too.

Also question, what do you guys like more? White + accent sprites or full colour sprites?

I vaguely remember an aradiasprite with a long bow type thing, as well as fefetasprite with feferi's skirt tails. What would be some interesting take on the other, not skirtwearing trolls?

it really depends on a lot of things with sprites. some are just really hard to pull off and look good. i've seen fully orange davesprites and green jadesprites that look fine, but some are just really hard to pull off. same with white, really. sprite makeup is a tricky art.
related, what are some HSG sprite design favorites? i'm thinking of doing aradiasprite, but i'm still unsure of what to do. i might take elements from a few designs and making them work together.

Why are anons so intent on keeping Saccharinesylph on anyhow? I can understand it with say, Ceriene, who have proved their quality a LOT of times, but Saccharinesylph doesn't really have that record as far as I can tell. A lot of their cosplays are good and I often enjoy their design choices, but as a cosplay blog on the list they're just not up to standard. Is it because they're a pleasant person or because of their IRL presence? I wouldn't know since I'm eurofag, but their blog does give off the impression that they would be.

I am still about the fence regarding including them on the list, since last time they haven't published any new Homestuck cosplays aside from a humanstuck Sollux (pic related). Though they have published more shots of their regular Sollux I can't say it's anything which particularly piques my interest. They still have Homestuck cosplay planned for the future, though.

I am all for a tier-less list because it doesn't really take in account the experience of following the bloggers as a whole. Really, I only try and help out with giving an as unbiased opinion as possible. If we want to drop the list entirely then that's really fine by me, but if we want a new way to judge bloggers and cosplayers then someone needs to give me that set of parameters because I don't want to actually shape the list myself.

The beta kids sprite colors are the alpha player colors. The same is true in reverse. Nanasprite - Jane; Jaspers - Roxy; Bec/Dream Jade - Jake and Crow - Dirk.

"Looks much better" isn't an excuse for some things, and the corresponding sprite colors is one of them. I don't think a lighter grey is synonymous to sprite colors because sprite colors have a reason behind them. Asking cosplayers to get the exact shade of troll grey is a little outrageous.
