This store is having an awesome clearance sale online. 2 dollars for tons of shit. 35+ free shipping

anyone ever buy stuff here?

>> No.7724385

The only thing I see worth buying is the pastel backpack for $5.

>> No.7724438

>>7724385
I wanted it too, but those measurements sound too small. It's most likely for little kids. I thought the doughnut keychain were cute. Otherwise nothing seems awesome about this sale

>> No.7725499

>Go to add a bunch of hair bows to my cart
>None of them show up as clearance because the BOGO 50% off sale nullifies it
Never mind I guess.

>> No.7726164

From a vendors perspective I took advantage of all the MLP bff necklaces and bracelets they had for $2 each ;) I also found an armband perfect for a Roxas cosplay.

>> No.7726194

We have a Claire's in my town. Shit's cheap but the quality is pretty terrible. Expect shit to fall apart after wearing it like once or twice.

>> No.7726199

Claires quality is terrible. Unless it's improved since I was last in the UK, which I highly doubt.

>> No.7726215

>>7726199
It's still shit. But the one where I live is a discount one so it's 30% off everything so it's quite handy when I want to buy big ugly jewellery to take apart and use for beads/charms

>> No.7726263

Every time I see little girls going and getting their ears pierced at Claire's I want to wave my arms at them and scream until they go somewhere better.

Needle piercing is best but even the fucking piercing pagoda is better than Claire's.

>> No.7726350

Why would I spend $35 dollars on shit?

>> No.7726355

The quality isn't great, but some of the little bows are good for extra fluff in OTT coords so I bought a few more from the sale. I also got a couple of cheap gifts for my toddler niece, so thanks for the heads up OP!
The free shipping is actually for orders over $25, fyi.

>> No.7726357

They had some cute pieces a couple years back when lacy victorian stuff was in style but lately everything they have is really ita. With the current neon-colored and moldy hippie trends it's a pain to find lolita stuff in normalfag stores.

I had two of my piercings done at Claire's because I didn't know any better (I've been lucky there, no infections and minimal scarring around the piercing). The second set, the woman got her finger in the way of the "gun" and the glove got pierced along with my ear, and caught between the stud and the stud back, so when she went to remove her hand, she almost ripped the stud out.

Hurt like hell.

>> No.7726377

>>7726375
claires should eliminate that...... piercing guns are so bad

>> No.7726379

Things I've bought at Claire's and actually used in (casual as hell) lolita outfits:

>Metal headband with a rose
>Metal headband with flat, pearl covered bow
>Fabric-covered headband with "Alice" style layered ribbon bow
>Random bits of jewelry that I took apart, reassembled with other items

I haven't been inside one in something like two years, though. You can find much of the same stuff on Taobao for even less, so I usually just toss a few cute pieces in with other orders.

And their "piercing solution" and advice to spin the studs. It's a wonder that the scarring I have is as slight as it is, to be honest.

I remember getting my ears done at Claire's, worst pain ever because they did both my ears at the same time with two piercing guns. Then on top of that, I got a shit awful infection on my left ear and discovered I was allergic to their shitty nickel earring. Never again with their earrings.

eh, I got my ears pierced at Claire's when I was like 13. They pierced with titanium studs and my ears are fine.. I know the needle guns aren't the best idea but for just your earlobe it isn't a big deal usually

I do, but not for lolita. Ever. Don't do it, unless it's tiny earrings or something. Put your big girl panties on and go to Icing if you must. Same company, same sales, not for 12 year olds.

Would you like two women ripping holes in your ears with a blunt needle and quite a bit of force. Yeah, I'd rather take the anesthesia shot I had to have in the webbing of my hand when I cut open my finger again then those guns.

>> No.7726741

>>7726723
You've got an unusually low pain tolerance then, anon and you shouldn't use that as a basis for shit-talking. I had my ears needle-pierced when I was young, but I let them close up a few years ago and decided to get them redone kinda spur-of-the-moment earlier this year. I popped into Claire's, got both lobes and a cartilage piercing done at the same time and walked out with no issues, especially with the minimal pain involved. I've also had local anesthetic in the webbing of my hand and it doesn't hurt nearly as as bad as it does in other places because there's no muscle there. Stop being a fucking baby.

>> No.7726750

>>7726741

Piercing guns are not recommended for cartilage because it could potentially shatter the cartilage in the ear. That's why needles are much preferred particularly for that area. I'm glad you didn't have that though, I know some people who did have that and it sucked for them.

I agree with you on the pain though. It was a weird feeling, like it just blew through my ear with no pain, and ached a bit afterwards.

>> No.7726776

>>7726703
Nope, that will just irritate the healing wound that is a piercing more.

>>7726710
Just because your personal experience was okay, doesnt mean the process is. You wouldnt recommend milannoo even for infanta stuff that we know they just resell right? Its the same thing, some people have had no issues with gun piercings but it still is more likely to give you an infection, irritate your ear and can scar.

>> No.7726790

>>7726710
>>7726741
I got my lobes gun pierced. They didn't heal very well and I can still (many years later) feel a nub of scar tissue in them when I pinch them.

I got a cartilage (helix) piercing there as well a couple years later. The cartilage didn't shatter thank goodness, but the stud earrings are too tight for that kind of piercing- my piercing swelled up, and, irritated by the stud backing it encountered, rapidly tried to engulf the back of the stud. I took them out (which you also shouldn't do if they're infected) but I still have really tiny bumps on both ear ridges.

A year back I went to a proper needle-piercing place and got helixs and traguses on both sides with proper captured ball rings, which healed with no trouble.

If nothing else, I'd rather have my piercings done by a professional who does it for a living than a teenager with a summer job and a needle gun.

Yeah, that happened to the girl I went with and I felt really bad for her. I got really lucky.
The worst pain I've ever had with any piercing was soreness after accidentally sleeping on it wrong (I'm a side-sleeper too and of course I got my cartilage done on the side I usually sleep on, I am a huge dumbass).
Even then, it was nothing like the local anesthetic. I had it in the webbing between my thumb and forefinger once and that sucked, and then another time I had it done in the thumb muscle (the abductor pollicis brevis if you wanna be technical, pic related) and that was absolutely excruciating...way worse than the initial injury and not in any way comparable to how dramatic anon was trying to make the piercing guns sound.

>> No.7726806

Holy shit.
That explains why my one ear has a nice hole in it's cartilage. I thought it just didn't heal right.

If it means I only have to pay $20 instead of the $90 the local piercing place charges then yes.
I'm usually not this cheap but fuck paying $90 for someone to stab me in the ear.
Any other piercings I get done by actual professionals, I got my cartilage and tragus done professionally, but for lobe piercings I've only ever gone to places like Claire's.

>> No.7726825

Pretty much everyone I know with pierced ears has gotten them done with a piercing gun, no one has had problems. In fact, I was the only one who ever had problems - my ears got infections because I was allergic to the shitty nickel used at piercing pagoda TWICE before I realized I needed to get titanium studs to start with. I got them done with titanium at Claire's because of convenience and the price.

When it costs at least $75 just for a crappy starter earring w/nickel at a piercing studio, yeah, I'll recommend people opt for the piercing gun as long as it's just their lobes they're getting done.

>> No.7726839

I got my ears pierced there when I was 10. I wore ear rings for a year, took them out and they closed overnight. ear got infected, the piercings did their best to "close" but got pretty messed up. My sister said it was one of the grossest things she's seen.

I'm almost 23 and my ear still hasn't healed.

I've had it done for about two and a half years now so it's been a while. All I remember was tapping it with something by accident when I got home and having it start gushing blood all over the side of my face.

I'm normally not one for piercings but I'm a sucker for ear piercings. I want conch piercings in both ears but I hear it hurts like a bitch and I'm a big baby.

I was the same way, I got my ears pierced at claires and got the titanium studs but still didn't know I got infections from the nickel in other earrings cause I was around 6 and didn't know any better, I'm 20 now and i still have weird bumps around where the piercing was.

Claire's is shit quality, but you can easily buy and then improve things (sewing bits down instead of the glue, etc.) and it';; last.

Uhh anon. That's not possible. After a while they won't close anymore. I haven't worn earrings in years and I still have my holes. I can put earrings through them with no effort. Once they're completely healed, they won't close up again/.

Not always anon, some piercings just never heal properly into the open position. If the piercing never fully heals, taking the earrings out will allow the piercing to finally heal closed.

Also some people's ears just close up.

It's extremely possible and it happens to a lot of people. My mom's ears are the same way and if either of us go for a couple of months without wearing earrings we have incomplete holes in our lobes that don't go all the way through to the other side. They start closing in the back first and I can't tell you how many times I had to repierce through the back of my earlobe, my mom has to do the same thing on occasion and she's in her 50's (she got her ears done when she was a preteen so it's not like they haven't had time to heal). On the other hand, I have friends like you who can go years without wearing them and have no issue.
It entirely depends on the person, anon. Google it.

this happened to me 5 times, one time I had them pierced at claire's and the other 4 were at the piercing pagota in the mall since it was always on a whim. I have extremely sensitive skin to boot and I believe I am at least mildly allergic to nickel.

I finally got them pierced at a piercing/tattoo shop 5 years ago and have had no problem. It took longer for them to heal than is typical but as I said I have extremely sensitive skin.

I can't get any more piercings there either...
well, maybe I can. I don't know. They're very sensitive now even if I apply pressure there.
It sucks. People still give me shit that I don't have my ear's pierced either.

I had my ear's pierced at claire's when I was in like 8th grade. One got embedded and then got infected, a doctor had to take it out.

really sucks.

Anon, why did you decide to cheap yourself out and get their nickel earrings when they had sterling silver and gold options. Jfc, yes, Claire's sells pretty shit merch, but their ear piercing service is not bad. Also, it sounds like you didn't clean around the piercing site daily like you're supposed to with that solution they provide you.

>> No.7726984

>>7726263
Ive gotten 3 piercings from them on each ear. All of them turned out fine except for my earlobes. The others were just slightly higher up, but not quite cartilage. I cant put rings in the right one at all while the left one works sometimes, it can be painful. Both still excrete puss from time to time.

>> No.7726993

Is it normal for my ears to still get like... I guess infected? 20 years later?

Like they'll get all sensitive and if I puck on the back with my nail, nasty shit comes out the front. They get really bad when I wear earrings, even my gold ones, but sometiems they do it when I haven't even touched my earrings in months.

>> No.7726998

>>7726993
no, this is not normal
How often do you shower? Wash your pillowcase? Clean the earpieces on your headphones? Clean your earrings and the piercings themselves? These are all things you should probably be doing much more regularly if you're still having infections. Also, how's your immune system? Have you seen a doctor about it?

>> No.7727004

>>7726993
You could have a chronic infection trapped in the piercing. Go see a doctor.
