Does anyone own this wig?
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Cos-gold-light-blonde-mix-long-straight-cosplay-WIG-gift-/131215505212?pt=US_CSA_MWA_Wigs_Extensions&hash=item1e8d0db73c

I need a very thick, natural looking blonde wig to put up in a bun. So I was wondering how well would this one stand to be up in a bun.

I'd buy directly from Lucaille where this pic is taken from. I'm not sure if that ebay seller is actually Lucaille.

Posted in the Taobao thread, sorry for shitting up the board. Does anyone know of a good color wig for Utena? Arda's baby pink doesn't come in appropriate styles, and most pink wigs are either a dusty pink or red toned pink. Her hair is pretty variable but it's always cool toned, does anyone have suggestions? I've looked at Arda, Epic Cosplay, L'email, Lucaille, and a billion other taobao shops. Any help would be great. I'm hoping to keep it 35 USD or under.

Would eBay be an option for you? That's where I got my Utena wig, which is a nice sort of light pink, but I don't recall which store.

Can anyone recommend somewhere that I could buy a wig that is wefted backwards (for styling/spiking straight up) that isn't Arda? I've heard whispers that I might be able to buy one on taobao but I don't have any idea what to search.
>>7659374
Most wigs you buy are going to require a small bit of styling, but if you just go slow and take your time you'll probably be fine. I'd suggest searching for "magenta" wig to find that color.

>> No.7659430

>>7659271
Normal wigs like that can't be pulled into a bun. The wefts at the bottom hairline (what will be exposed when you pull it up) aren't meant for that and will look really terrible.
You'll need a wig that's been specially wefted to be pulled up. Those kind of wigs don't look very good when down though, so I hope you're not hoping for something that can go both ways.

Anyway, Arda and Epic have wigs like that.
Arda's Jasmine or Jeannie can work, depending on how you want to do the bun, but Arda's known for extremely thick wigs and larger wig-caps, so if you're small, it might not be the best option).
Epic's Phoebe wig does that too, but I don't have personal experience with their wigs very much, at the moment.
There's other wigs that do this too, as these kind of wigs are becoming more common, but I can't think of any at the moment.

There's also the option of having a short wig with a bun clip. It'll be much easier to manage, but it depends on how accurate you want to be with that "pulled up in a bun" look. It doesn't look all that realistic.

Has anyone ever bought / heard about this place before?
http://lovecosplay.com/goods-9-Haruhi+Suzumiya+Brown+Cosplay+Wig.html
I need a haruhi wig, but jesus most places are allergic to wigs just being right. Every one of them needs heavy styling, or cutting, or in most cases both. I cannot cut and can barely style my own hair so having at least the shape is mandatory. This place doesn't seem to have a terrible one, but for all I know the site could Milanoo part 2. Anyone any experience with them? Or better yet, anyone know a very reliable online place to commission a wig?

I think it was "long light pink wig" or maybe something like "cupcake" or "cotton candy" + pink. I own 3 Lucaille wigs, 2 from back when you had to order through email off their Taobao store. The quality is actually pretty good for cheap chinese wigs and the communication was always really good too, even with the Engrish. Never had a problem at all. A quick google will find you a lot of reviews of their wigs.

>> No.7660498

>>7660425
You'll need either a lacefront or a wig that has a hairline that's meant to be exposed. Or you can get a normal wig and add a hairline, but that's the most tedious option.
If you'd prefer it stiff, just make sure the hairspray doesn't leave drops. Spray a section then smooth it down, that's what I like doing.
For the little curl, I guess it depends on how accurate you want to be. The easy way is to twist the hair around your finger or something, coat it in gel or spray, and wait for it to dry. You can also try carving the little shape with foam and cover it in extra weft (following the curve, don't just wrap it around), and then have part of the wig gelled to the curl so it looks smooth. I can do a diagram for that if the explanation was weird.
Hope that helps?

>>7660437
They're pretty big so I don't think leaving them out is a good idea. Scaling down is fine, something that big would be ridiculously hard anyway.
Look up the Hetalia ahoge tutorial on deviantArt (filesize is too big to be posted here). You'll need to use a heavy-gauge wire, but I think it's doable.

All you need his hairspray and maybe a little gel. Just get the hair going in the direction you want it in,... use the gel or just the hairspray lightly on the tips and hold until they stay together... then hairspray the bejesus out of the entire spile. It's effectiveness depends on the fibers and how much hair you've got on the wig. If you don't gel all of the fibers, they won't get crunchy.

I got my Raven wig in Purple/Black fusion, but I notice they put more colors in stock and Royal Purple looks nicer depending on the lighting and which color you think looks more canon. You'll have to style the widow's peak yourself, but it's not too hard.

Working on Haru from Akuma no Riddle. I can't seem to tell if her hair is actually darker towards the bottom or if it's shadowing. (I apologize, I don't visual art.) Use the stick glue method.
Spread it on your eyebrows and let it dry.
Do this a couple of times and make sure it's dry each time you do it, if you can still feel the hairs then keep layering.
After that's done put on your primer, coverup, ect then draw them on with eyeshadow.

I'm just curious about everyone's opinion on Arda Wigs. I think they're great and I'm pretty decent at styling my wigs, so they're always my go-to. I talked to a few people about them and some people say they're overpriced for what they are, but they are the highest quality and thickest wigs I've ever bought.
My friend recently bought an Epic Cosplay wig and had it shipped to my house so I could style it for her before an event in a few days and I have to say, the fibers are very silky but the wigs aren't as thick and the fibers not as high-quality as Arda's. Just my opinion but I've only ever had my hands on one EC wig and about 5 Arda.
So what do you think? Is Arda too expensive or do you have any other issues with them?

Trying to suss out the best way to do this wig. The concept art height of it is quite a bit bigger than the in game model. The splash art isn't released yet.

Seen a bunch of pompadour tutorials which seem like they could work (styling it around some foam/wire) but I'm not sure if I'd need to do quite that. Tips?

Thinking either suzi or morpheus? Suzi has the widow's peak already but may be less thick than morpheus (which might be easier to style into that height without padding it out?) because it is longer?

But yeah, not super sure how to approach this

>> No.7712836

>>7712664
soak it in a solution of water and fabric softener for a few days.

After it dries, spray it with detangler. Brush it out from bottom to top.

Sometimes the fibers will be a little damaged - you'll be able to tell because they'll look frizzy. For that I take a hair straightener, set it to the lowest heat and straighten them. Go slowly small sections at a time. frizzy strands tangle more easily so that helps. Be careful to keep the heat low, you don't want to melt a non-heat resistant wig.

I've salvaged a wig that looked a little worse than this, and it's good as new.

To prevent it from tangling so badly again, try using a conditioning spray like Motions Oil Sheen Spray, or a silicone spray. Brush it after each time you wear it and then braid it to store it.

I'd definitely agree with >>7714044, the Derek is going to be too short. Get the Magnum if the Magnum Long is too long; it's always better to be too long and have to trim it than not long enough with nothing to do about it.

Keep in mind that wig heads are smaller than human heads so wigs will always look longer than they'll actually be on you - check out Arda's gallery (http://arda-wigs.com/pages/customer-gallery)) if you haven't already, to see what any style will look like (Wigs by Style is what you want, at the bottom of the page).

>>7715767
You could probably go darker, yes. Don't try to put in the black lines, it'll look stupid. And be careful getting a long wig like that because when you cut it, it's most likely not going to be thick enough in the back. too dark pink. Go for a very light lilac color.

I got this new wig, and it was supposed to have side bangs. Instead, I got this horrible, choppy straight fringe. Ive never cut hair before, and I need this wig for an upcoming event, (no time to get a new one if I fuck it up). Should I attempt to give it side bangs, or just fix the straight fringe? Tips on cutting side swept bangs, if thats a safe option?
Pic related, I don't know if you can see it very well. The fringe is cut too short in the middle so the sides are too long, and you can tell they didn't do it very well.

I need a good wig to Junko. Suggestion? Should I style it like a mad or let it be natural?

Does anyone know the quality of this wig? Thanks. :) http://i01.i.aliimg.com/wsphoto/v0/1832280903_1/Mix-Pink-and-Light-Purple-and-Light-Blue-Ladies-Cosplay-Wigs-Curly-Wigs-NWG0CP60950-LI2-.jpg_250x250.jpg

I just can't find a wig that is in the right color and isn't too expensive, since I need to get two and combine them to make the braid. I would have prefered to get it from Lucaille since we are making a group order from them, but these are the only ones that wasn't super orange or too dark

Pic related, I think it's too dark

Get an Arda wig in salmon + a pack of long wefts, it'd be about the same cost in the end. None of those colors are remotely close.

It will be very costly for me since I'm overseas, but since I can't find a good color at Lucaille's website it might be my only choice.

Do you think the Vegas wig and some long wefts would be enough to make the braid? (I'm planning to make a base out of foam and cover it in hair)

I got mine from ebay. I'll try to find the link, but it's a pretty good wig. The ponytail clips are a tad thinner than I'd like but after you style it they look fine. What I did was literally just shake them around, throw them, tease them, shove them in a bag for days, and repeat. Not the nicest way to treat a wig, but I've gotten lots of compliments on it.

I bought a medium length dark grey wig, similar to pic, for some reason and I'd like to find some use for it.

Could work for a Glad0s gijinka, or any number of Pokemon. Alternatively, try the Anime Character Database and see if anyone strikes your fancy, you can search by hair colour and length

What does it mean on Lucaille when it lists "restock may". Does that mean they're restocking or that it's just sold out?

>> No.7729035

i posted in the general help thread but i thought i'd try here as well.
i dyed my wig using alcohol and ink method. I used 50/50 so it would be dark enough but.
it won't stop running. what should i do??

It really depends on where you're getting it from, a lot of sellers use the same pictures

Hey guys. First-time cosplayer so I'm going for something simple (pic related). Does anyone know the name of this hairstyle? Then I can look for it in wig stores.

It looks like some odd sort of mullet (but I know it's not actually a mullet).

Anyone else cringing at these horrible wig colors that are coming out for this show?
Like, I guess they just don't realize that the hair looks different in every seen because of the lighting in it.

Seriously, the only one I would do any kind of gradient on would be shiro, and it would be subtle.
Also her hair is clearly fucking white.

>> No.7732404

>>7732355
Ehh. I like the Jibril one, the others not so much. She's the only character who consistently has different colours in her hair across different lighting conditions. I have seen that gradient on some official art for Steph, but it doesn't really show up in the show. Plus with the bright colours, it's really too much. Same with the Shiro wig.

I styled mine similarly to >>7728003.
My wig was also from eBay, I layered the fringe and the ponytails, and teased through out the lengths of the ponytails.
