brown and black seldom look good with each other, loli or not loli. you don't look bad, but i'm nitpicking. i'd take out the black tie and black shoes and put in something creamier or brown...ier.. if you have those boots in brown it would be perfect. and lastly this is just me being biased, i don't like the collar. i think the sharp edges on the collar don't...hmm...i think a rounded-edge collar would look softer and cuter. Sorry can't tell if that's built into the onepiece.

if you don't want to stay so simple, i would one up by changing to some subtle textured/patterned socks or stockings. It will still look like a simplistic co-ord but changing the legwear will really make it pop imo.

They're a classic case of clashing neutrals.
Same goes for navy and black together, and cream/off-white and pure white together.
If the colors are close enough to each other, they just make each other look off. Your outfit ends up looking scruffy even if it's perfectly clean, and you end up looking colorblind.

Anon, let me give you some honest advice. I'm the same anon as >>7689867 so I'm really not just being a bitch like most of the other chicks in here are.

Your hairstyle is cute, and to control the frizz, I'd suggest straightening it before putting it up. Your bangs are a little bit greasy, so I'd keep some dry shampoo on hand if you tend to get an oily forehead which in turn makes your hair oily. Tresseme has a good dry shampoo and it's about $4

The dress is also very cute, however I'd suggest wearing it with either something with maybe a peter pan collar, or no blouse at all underneath.

I'd take the bag out and replace it with something a bit less... shoddy looking. It can still be Hello Kitty, just that bag looks a little worse for wear.

Finally, I think the socks would look better if they were either plain white knee socks or white ankle socks with some lace on top. Bodyline sells 'em for cheap. And if you do wear white socks with it, I'd invest in some pink or blue shoes. Those shoes look kinda orthopedic, I'm sorry to say.

I like the shoes but in general your fashion sense needs a lot of work. The undershirt looks like a yukata top, I don't know why that would go under a dress and if it it did it wouldn't be this casual light blue dress... in general nothing matches, you have all this pink sparkly hello kitty stuff and then a plain dress that looks like it came from aeropostale and a shirt that looks like something thrifted from the 80s. A lot of your accessories look too childish.. you can dress childish/child inspired without using literal child accessories. A nicer hair flower from claires, a plain pink belt instead of this glitter one. socks that don't look like kids socks with orange that doesn't match anything, a quilted hello kitty purse which is not uncommon for adults to carry.
Also, get rid of the cheap fake pearls. I could be wrong, but I think one of your problems is that you look like a thrifter or bargain hunter, but you don't have the style savvy to determine which "finds" are actually good. You would be a lot better off shopping at mainstream stores or brands (NOT department stores, stuff like f21) until you get a better idea of how to put together an outfit...

Thanks for the bit on the thrifter thing. That probably comes from I just need to seriously upgrade my wardrobe now. I only recently got a job so I'm waiting for that expendable income to come in. A lot of my accessories have been in my wardrobe too long so this outfit was a look for anything that matches colorwise thing. The fake pearls, you could retire them or maybe repurpose them into something new? I've done that. My mom gave me a nice long strand of glass pearls from the 70s, but they don't really work in modern outfits so I've used them for all sorts of things instead.

Anon, a good anti frizz spray is Joico's Humidity Blocker. TBH, it's more for combating any frizz that may occur after straightening, but it works. Do you live in a humid environment? It's like $18 or so and you can get it at most salons and places that sell the Joico brand.

I agree with what >>7697776 >>7699790 is getting at. It literally looks like she found a plaid skirt in the color of her ribbon (or vice versa), put it on, and called it a seifuku. Given the fact that she's standing up straight, its weird that its so flared out. Seifuku skirts are crisply pleated and only get that look if being pulled outward - more than that minor tug she's doing. Maybe she just didn't iron it but it looks wrong.

That ugly jacket doesn't help either.

Your outfit looks too plain and stark. You need more going on with your main pieces (skirt/blouse), either colour-wise or texture/material wise (or preferably, both). I don't think the hat, bag, or boots go well with one another; the boots in particular don't suit how white/plain your outfit is.
The flowers seem kind of random and sad just hanging there, like you threw them on because you felt like you needed something but didn't know what to do. They'd look better used as hair accessories or corsages/brooches. More/better accessories in general would really help this outfit.

The fit of the blouse plus dress/skirt (sorry, can't tell which it is) also seems off.
I know you're proud of it, but this doesn't look very good, in my opinion. It's a decent start, but you need to invest in more/better basics. Pic is of an outfit that does similar things to you but more successfully.

Thanks for the concrit anon. I'll take some things into consideration. Most of my my wardrobe is white and cotton so I'll be on the lookout for other colors and textures when I go thrifting. I personally think the boots are plain enough to go with the outfit (no shoe laces or patterns on it) although I mainly chose it cause I thought the color matches best with white. Most of my other shoes fall along the dark brown and burgundy spectrum so their contrast is a bit stark but I can see how it kinda works in the picture you showed. I could probably swap out the purse for something with a lighter brown.

The flowers were on there from when I used the dress for a costume awhile ago. I was just too lazy to remove it. Not sure what you mean by adding more accessories since the pic you showed has the girl wearing the same or less amount. I personally prefer mori outfits to have less or subtler accessories.

It's a blouse worn over a dress. Not really sure what you meant by the fit of the blouse being off. I pulled the bottom up slightly so it would be at a more flattering part of my waist. Unless you meant I needed a looser-fitting shirt.

I'm fine with minimal accessories. I just think that here it looks unfinished/the accessories don't go so well. Right now, it looks like you tried to go for a more accessorized outfit (pin, necklace, hat, flowers) but didn't choose suitable ones (they look off, particularly the flowers and necklace).
The fit seems off to me because you can tell it's a two-piece combo that kind of has the same overall shape but doesn't. Unlike with the outfit I posted, where the bottom flows out from the top continuously, your outfit feels a bit too bulky/bulgy. I think you should either stick with a tighter top under and really play up the shawl or go with a looser overall top. I think you're mixing too many shades/tones of white and ivory.

I realize I wrote a lot and sounded a bit harsh. I don't mean to sound rude, but I think that the western mori community really needs to whip itself into shape.

Another big thing that I see a lot of mori girls lack is visual interest in the hems. Ruffles, lace and scallops will always look 10x better than three straight edged skirts (which is where I think most western mori girls go wrong). Also, it looks as though your skirt is slightly fitted then flared.
