I adore Misa on Wheels and her message is inspiring, but I can't help but feel that most of her fame and recognition is from pity. Anyone else feel this way? What other cosplayers do you think get their recognition from being pitied?

She kind of drives me crazy. Like I'm sorry but I didn't realize she was disabled and then she posted a rant because someone said that they hadn't noticed she was either. At that point I was like "you know what your ranting and constant posts about how your cosplays are enhanced due to being black, and your constant sj stuff... I personally don't have a problem with plus sized or black cosplayers, it's just the entitlement that drives me insane. I'm a cosplay photographer and people have called me out for not shooting the aforementioned groups of people. Maybe if they would stop thinking that they are entitled by writing all these whiny SJ articles and facebook posts I would actually shoot them as well as other "popular" photographers.

That's actually not a far off estimate at all. I'd say my body shape is pretty similar to hers; really short and stumpy without really any natural curves, but still carrying fat in really depressing places.

Anyone who had ever had the pleasure of meeting Misa on Wheels will agree that she is the most special woman on this planet. Her insight and love is ever present and her passion for love and life and all that is good is effervescent. I truly pity the souls that dare to belittle her...your energy in finding fault with her would surely be better spent working on your own faults. Merry Christmas to all!!

Anyone who thinks she wants or is popular because she's pitied doesn't know her in the least. She is less handicapped and more capable than some able bodied people I know. She works around every challenge that comes her way.
Safe to assume the OP doesn't have a clue that she can climb stairs, miniature paint better than most people with working hands, for example. The person who should be pitied is the OP for not having this ray of sunshine in their life.
