So people have been talking about making a lolita documentary over in >>7625675 and the topic deserves its own thread
There have been several documentaries but all of which were rather short and most of which are now outdated. I think Sugar coated (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W0QSyv8tEgg)) was a great short but something that encompassed even more of the lolita fashion history and culture would be great.

Kickstarter - if there was one, would you back it?

Producing/directing - as awesome as it would be to have a documentary, it wont happen unless we have people making it. Anyone know of anyone? Are you a film student? Can we get our idea somehow sponsored?

Please post ideas and thoughts!

how could you possibly get your film "out there"

Exactly why its up here for discussion.
As far as I could tell, Sugar Coated was directed by a group of students as an assignment.
Thats a possibility, but it seems like they would only be willing to work at short lengths.
Dont be such a downer, anon.

This, its only a matter of netwoking to get the news out there.
It's only a matter of knowing how much interest there is for this sort of thing. I think kickstarter would be the easiest way to accrue money.
The part I'm most concerned about would be the actual filming crew.

I love this idea. I'd contribute to it.

I would love to see a scene with pictures from various comms all over the world. Like each each comm could submit one, or something. It's be great to show how many girls love this fashion!

Any ideas for hosts/ directors?

One thing I can think of is SCAD in Atlanta. I'm a former student, and getting a film crew from there would be easy. SCAD loves Lolita. I'm not saying that someone from ATL comm has to host it, but I know people at SCAD that would love to help.

Showing all the comms would be great, but Yan hosting would be a horrible mistake IMO.
Hes kind of weird with his whole dresses for princesses thing.

That sounds pretty great!

It was supposed to be a joke. Poorly executed, though. Sorry.
