Sometimes I'm worried my cosplays won't turn out well... then I see these people and I'm like nah I'll be fine. I should probably feel bad. But I don't.

So with me and my group's combined experience, we could construct a good dress and a rocking wig for Ragyo, but I lack the rack to pull it all off. Any suggestions for pulling off her main outfit without huge tits, or should I stick with one of the flatter females as planned? I love disco milf but there is enough bad cosplay of her out there.

I really wish people would stop making the "metal" pieces out of craft foam, it looks so tacky. Ragyo should be a couture goddess, at least if you can't do decent armor type stuff choose a snazzy fabric. This is probably the least believable part of every Ragyo costume to me, they all look like they rolled around in the bin at Fashion Bug instead of Dior like it should be.

Uh, majority not modern tactical gear is nylon, so you can start with nylon webbing straps. Ammo pouches and handgun holsters can be bought for cheap if they're made in China junk (more than enough for cosplay). They're modular so strap them wherever the fuck you want.

So I just got my Mako cosplay in the mail from Taobao (because I can't sew and it was both cheap and had great reviews); however, their sizes were a little wonky, so I got the biggest size in the hope that I could take it in if necessary.

Well, turns out it is incredibly small in the waistband, and sits directly on my waist, which in turn brings the back of the skirt up very high. This makes it so that if I bend over even an inch or two, it shows my butt.

I'm not too embarrassed as long as nobody tries to touch or points it out all the time, but do you think this would be problematic to wear at AX? What do you think I should do?

Depends on who you're cosplaying. I would use a nice lightweight woven fabric for the guys (if I remember right I used a light bottomweight for the lining of my nonon, her first uniform). For nonon though I feel like you could get away with some nicer material. I'm using Joann's casa crepe for the black 3star, I thought it would make it look a bit classier.

Hey guys, I don't know if anyone remembers me, I posted my Nonon WIP about a month ago--my skirt was too Lolita-esque. I got some great advice but I didn't pop back in with progress because I didn't have much time with con crunch and all. I just wanted to show you all the finished product, I'm pretty proud of how it turned out, especially for being my first major construction project!

I'm a dude, so I might not see some things most other see here/share their opinion, but I like Nonon's and I think they're charming/cute (both character and good cosplayers) and here's my take:
-I don't know shit about make up but maybe matching eyebrow colors with your hair?
-Eyeliner too strong--Nonon's traits are clean/simple, petite, and childlike. Reminds you of a elementary school girl's room before they start plastering it with boy bands once they hit middle/high school (stuffed toys, pink bed sheets, cutesy shit everywhere). I feel like eyeliner adds too strong of a maturity.
-I'm not sure but I think the background lighting shows your arms aren't shaved? Again with Nonon's petite/cleanliness.
-Need a dental job but that can't be helped for now, but noting it anyway.

Meh, maybe this is worthless coming from a guy. But hopefully an interesting perspective I hope?

I actually bought the boots from ebay (just search Nonon Jakuzure and they pop up)! I painted them and took out the shitty shoelaces and replaced them with pleather straps.

I knew the pleats were a little long, but I've got an awkward torso/hip proportion, and raising up where they started made it look less shitty for my body type. It looked much worse when I started them lower eugh. I might play around with it more when I do her Goku III.
I actually plan on making a small ruffled underskirt out of the inner pleat fabric thats sticks out below the main piece, because you can only see the petty from lower angles like my photog did here.

I came to say I like it and that it's really good for one of your firsts, with only those few handful gripes I listed. Now about your face. Try filling in your brows to match the wig. Smile with your lips closed, they have nice shape, also some nude lipstick with a bit of pink on the inner part and blend. A bit of blush may help, but it only works on certain people so experiment. You do have a larger nose so try contouring, i personally don't think it's that bad if you address everything else. Also try some pink circle lenses if you aren't already (can't really tell for some reason). I would go a little thinner on the top liner because your lid does crease a bit low. angle the liner wings a little higher.The lashes you have look good. Try some faint white eyeshadow at the inner corner of your eye/lid and maybe even a bit of white liner on the waterline, just don't go overboard it looks bad when you put too much.

Love the pattern overall, although what happened up at the collar? It looks like you chopped the top off your Goku star and the collar looks uneven and not particularly well pressed - that could be the angle though. I'm regretting making my pleats so flared now - yours sit really nicely, mine are going to have to be tacked into place - plus I went for 8 because I couldn't be bothered drafting from scratch. I do think you need a more obviously A-line petti as it's still looking a bit cupcakey, I wouldn't bother revising the pattern to be more flared at the hem, just getting a different petti or adding a layer of tulle at the bottom when you do the ruffled underskirt. With the pleats, you could create the illusion that they start below your natural waist (I think on Nonon it's about iliac crest/low waist height) by nipping the pattern in higher. I'm not a fan of the wrist cuffs - the proportions seem off to me, too wide and the heart buttons are too small.

In terms of the makeup, you really need to fully cover your brows before you turn them pink (and possibly trim/pluck them back a little more, use gluestick/foundation over the top before you go pink), do some shading with light neutral tones around your eyes to make them pop out as the eyeliner is kinda making them sink in at the moment, also have the outer wings of your liner higher and further out. Contouring wise, you generally want to make your chin and nose smaller so dark around the edges, lighter in the middle. Try blush really high up on the top outer edge of the cheekbones for a "cutesy" look (ymmv with this). Lip-wise, your lower lip appears noticeably bigger than the upper lip especially when smiling with an open mouth. Cover your lips with foundation and draw them back on evenly (so slightly inside the edge of your lower lip, and right to the edge of your upper lip)

Thanks for the makeup advice guys! I've screencapped your posts and I'll try out these techniques once my face is done breaking out from the sudden heat/humidity wave in my area.

I did have pink circle lenses, but with the lighting + hat shadows it's hard to see. I do want to get new ones because these ones are starting to get old.

The petti I ended up using was a cheap halloween store one I got for an old cosplay, so I might be able to play around and remove some layers to make it less poofy.

Not sure what you mean by 'nipping in the pattern higher'?? Do you mean making the angle between the 'blouse' area and 'skirt' area sharper so the skirt flares out more? I won't make any changes to this uniform, but I could use it for the Goku III down the road.

If doing one piece, They would need to be wide enough to slip over a hand, but using elastic would make the fabric bunchy.
Making them tight and using the seam would be ideal, but Velcro, snaps, ribbon, etc would all be noticeable, plus the possibility of bunching/moving where they meet.
