If it's a random hall gathering or mass photoshoot that's one thing, but is it that hard to communicate in your group and make things uniform and cohesive?

If you go with craft foam, weathering is ESSENTIAL!! I've seen so many well-assembled armour cosplays with +10 armour parts, but they look fake as a sack of dicks because the person didn't have time/didn't know how to weather.

I've also heard Worbla is good for armour, but I've never used it.

I've used worbla for non-homestuck and it's fantastic. It's incredibly easy to use and is way better with curves than wonderflex. I highly recommend it for armor. Resin-casting probably looks the best, but that's way more specialized and complicated whereas worbla is pretty easy to mess around with.

99 percent finished with my Gamzee godtier as of ten minutes ago, noting left to do but add details (Buttons, spots on the front) and add orn-holes! Everything was handsewn, and the first thing I'd sewn in 10+ years. Pretty proud of myself tbh.

Someone I was on a panel with last year made their Calliope horns from Model Magic, and they had broken by the end of the panel. Might I suggest a tinfoil or newspaper base wrapped in masking tape, then maybe covered with Model Magic? For stability, at least.

What kind of horns would you guys recommend for a troll Caliborn? Should I just stick with Makara horns like Calliope's?

Calliope only has that version because she engages in HS-fandom activities such as making fantrolls, cosplaying, etc. If you're doing troll Caliborn it's really entirely up to you what he'd look like (seems like an odd cosplay choice tbh.)

If you do go with model magic I have some tips.
Height with model magic is really tricky. I'd suggest what anon said and use tin foil and a structure then mold model magic around it but you might have to take drying them really carefully.

I feel bad constantly repeating my methods but, I found with model magic, if you control air control [by putting it in a plastic bin with the lid cracked] then the slow drying process makes it so there aren't any huge cracks. If cracking does happen, use super glue to fill in the gaps, hold it for about 30 seconds, then let continue to dry.

If you go with fur trim, I'd recommend something with a deep pile, so it looks super shaggy and mangy. Avoid the cheaper trims at JoAnn if you can - anything with a pile of less than two inches runs the risk of looking fake. The wig volume is...nice-ish, but it's kinda swallowing her face, also the bulk of the wig should be behind them (though i don't blame them for having it in front, since it would very likely start to slip otherwise). Trident prongs should be different, but i think that's just a painted halloween store trident.

Also, obviously, the crown, glasses and horns all need to be burned in a (mysterious and tragic) fire and be remade along with some visible fins (assuming she even has any).
