So, who the fuck are these three? I saw them at Fanime, however they were at a private photoshoot that just so happened to coencide with the Jojo's gathering. But they didn't seem to pay any mind to any of the other cosplayers around there, like not even acknowledging that they're cosplaying from the same series.

Is there drama surrounding them? Are they assholes in the cosplay community? Are they even fans of the series proper or are they only doing Jojolion cosplays because it's the hip thing to do? I don't want to start any thing, I am mostly ignorant when it comes to /cgl/ culture and am just here for the Jojo's but I am just genuinely curious how 3 people can throw on costumes from a series and not interact with a single other cosplayer from the same series they are from.

The Daiya is a cosplayer known as mostflogged that has a bunch of drama surrounding her for various reasons. I personally don't have a lot of specifics, but I never hear her name attached to good things. And the Yasuho goes by, Tatto, I believe. Don't really know anything about them, good or bad.

What I did for my Dio Cosplay was just taking wooden shower rings and painting them gold. However I was able to just slide them on because I can dislocate and relocate my thumb on command. So for people who don't have that luxury just taking a hand saw, cutting them in half and putting in Neodymium magnets on the top and bottom of each ring should do the trick and be easy enough to take off and put back on while still holding together. There will be seam lines but they shouldn't be too noticeable

And for Johnny's hat, anything stiff would do with the right paint job. But if you want to go for authenticity, get pony/mini horse sized aluminum shoes. They are pretty cheap and sold in pairs in case you fuck up. And the aluminum ones are really light, so they won't weigh the hat down.

Alright, so, I do have one question, if I may.

Why skip to Jojolion? So far Jojolion has been nothing but call backs and mysteries, some of which even involve characters you haven't read the stories about. So, I'm really curious what about Lion was appealing to you over the other Parts.

Personally, so far it's the worst Part of Jojo in my opinion, so I guess I just can't get skipping to it when I'm reading it just because I know how good Jojo can be from reading all the rest.

Avdol's hair wouldn't be significantly hard if you found proper African-Haired wigs, preferrably an Afro. Most of it comes from styling the hair into cylinders, which can be done easily with the right hair gel, and then you put a band on the bottom to make sure they stick in one direction. The only hard part is finding a wig big enough to make sure your cyllinders are wide, full, and moderately tall, or it looks very stupid.

With as big as Jojo is over in Italy I am surprised we don't see more Jojo's cosplayers taking photos with the natural landamrks as a back drop. I mean with the amount of Avante Garde fashion they have over there I wouldn't think something like Joseph and Caeser or Lisa Lisa would even cause people to bat an eyelash. Especially if they chose more "Natural" wig colors and subdued color schemes.

I feel like a big part of it is a lot of cosplay photographers don't really know how to shoot outside of a convention scene. It's very limiting because they don't often go out of the confort zone of the hotel or convention center that they're taking photos at. Jojo's is really about the adventure, so if you're going to take photos they're going to probably have to be at least a little daring, unless you're doing Part 4, but even then outside of Japan there really aren't Japanese suburbs like Morioh has just readily available so you still have to search.

I have seen a few good Jojo's photoshoots state side though, in a lot of forest and coastal regions which really helped capture the adventure feeling of the series.

I'll keep this in mind when I make certain cosplays. I've always been curious about taking a shot near a prison or a structure with prison-like architecture at some point as a part 6 cosplayer, although the difficulties mostly come in finding the location and making sure we can have a costumed photoshoot there, and THEN making sure every single person can make it.

Once I am finished with my Giorno I am going to at least try my hardest to get photos in as much of an Italian setting as I possibly can. And who knows, maybe even book a trip on an empty passenger train to get some shots there too! It doesn't have to be perfect, because any step away from the generic Marriott, convention floors and Parking Garage is a step in the right direction for inspired photos IMO.

Honestly, a lot of older fans don't care about how you get into Jojos as long as you show that you appreciate the series. One of the best ways to do this is to do what you did and read the manga after your gateway in. As long as you know what you are cosplaying, and care passionately then you will fit right in with the older fans.

I need a little advice. I'm a very, very petite girl (5'2" and looking at 102 pounds now), but I really do want to cosplay from Jojo. I know most people do Part 1 Young Dio Brando but if I were to cosplay him, would I be validated in this choice? And seriously.. You have trouble following Battle Tendency and Phantom Blood? Even if the art does get better later on, and it does, you'd be fucking lost at the sheer amount of detail crammed into some of the later spreads and action sequences.

We could reenact scenes from the manga in the actual places, take natural, 'every day' pictures in the streets, or hell, just jojopose in front of the landscape with mt Vesuvius. Depending on how comfy they are I'm either going to wear them all day and hold them in with Fixident instead of the weird molding kit they give you or just pop them in for photos. Ehhh, making up schemes is doable if you've got some sense of what colors can work together - especially when you consider that there's some characters that have not had a lot of color art of them.

Generally, don't just throw a bunch of colors together. If you want to make a completely new color scheme and you're not good at them on your own, go find one of those color-wheel things that can make up palettes and play with it for a while.

If your hat is wool knit then you might be able to bobby pin it into place, but other than that I don't really know what to do... Mine fits pretty snug and I did Johnny's figure pose just to test how it stays on when I move around a bit and it works pretty well, so the only advice I have is if you can, pin it if not try to be careful so it doesn't fall off

JoJo Cosplayers will almost always do a pose their character did in the series for pictures. Seeing them not pose that way is weird. Plus the characters they're Cosplaying are still fairly new but have set poses. Daiya has a good amount excluding the fun bed scene. If they read they would have known that considering the length of JoJolion.

It's mostly because JJBA designs are fabulous enough that people usually don't feel the need unless they are cosplaying something that obviously wouldn't work in crossplay such as a pillarman.

I never expected to see this much nitpicking over the poses - yes, it'd be silly if someone cosplayed Joseph or Giorno and didn't have their main poses down (because come on) but a lot of the side characters either don't have poses that would look anywhere near good in pictures, or don't appear in enough panels to really *have* a pose
