>> No.7579018

>>7578027
Depends on the colors. It could be a little overwhelming. Lilacs and lavenders also range a lot in color- if it's a blue based purple versus a red/pinked based purple would depend on if it matched with your pink (which we'd also have to see if it was a blue based pink or a red based pink.)
You've gotta show us pictures, anon.

I don't particularly need help coording, but I was wondering how people choose coords to wear to meets. ILD is coming up, and I'm having a difficult time deciding what to wear. I have several new dresses and coords I could wear, but I also thought it'd be interesting to wear the same dress I wore last year on ILD because it would be interesting to have a direct comparison in my growth as a lolita over the past year (and it's been significant). Thoughts?

I'm new to wearing prints and I'm a little lost. I want to pull out the rose details in this coord, but I don't want to completely ignore the cookie element. Could I do two themes at once? If not, what's the best way to incorporate the rose theme alone without looking bad?

Critique and help picking items/changing items would be greatly appreciated!

>Could I do two themes at once?
It's perfectly fine to do multiple themes if they work with the dress. The only time if this is an issue is if you were adding say roses or cookies into a dress with none of those things on it, or trying to do both themes with a non-print, it wouldn't make sense.

Are the solid color tights a bad idea or should I invest in some printed socks/tights? I almost feel like there's too much black, but part of me likes all the slightly different shades.

Also, would you guys suggest jewelry or other knickknacks or should I leave the accessorizing as is? (I'm sorry for all the mirror pics...)

Maybe an off white pearl purse strap to add some light colored detail? Or add one or two cream flowers or details to your hair. Or blonde wig?

Solid tights look fine. You're bringing out the gold in the print with your purse, so it doesn't look bad. Make sure you wear plenty of gold jewelery, maybe with ivory accents?

Please excuse the crappy photo. I've been having a hard time with this dress. What blouse would work best with the neckline & ruffly straps/little sleeves of this Infanta dress I have? I bought AP's Cosmic JSK and OTKs in navy. Should I use navy or white shoes? I feel like the white might look a little odd against the dark socks, but if I get navy shoes then the white star bag I'm planning on using will seem out of place.

Opinions?

I really should've gotten the ivory OTKs now that I think about it, but they're sold out in the SF store and I already consolidated my order on Tenso.

If you really don't want to wear it blouseless I would say something with long sleeves and little to no poof in the shoulder. High neck would probably be best for the shape of the neckline, but it would need to be something light and feminine and not too stuff to fit with the style of the dress. Don't have any specific examples, but I hope this helped

Lace or sheer chiffon blouse with high neck would work well

>> No.7581502

>>7581389

I'm not sure that the ivory OTKs would have matched anyway, they look like they're white in the stock pics, but from experience AP's definition of ivory is more yellow-tinged cream. You can sort of see the difference in the ivory colourway of the sailor jsk, the collar is white while the jsk is ivory.

Anyway, there's a fair amount of white if you got the sailor jsk, so I don't think the white star bag would look out of place. If you got the other jsk or just want to add more white to balance things out, you could always try adding a white underskirt, a white blouse, white star clips (as brooch).

>> No.7581525

>>7581462
>>7581467

The three main colours in the set you picked out (assuming you got the blouse and the jsk), is the brown from the skirt, the cream from the dress and the darker brown from the blouse. So long as your socks, shoes, bag, jewellery, etc match one of these three colours you should look fairly cohesive. The hardest part is probably making sure the browns match, being a little bit off is okay, but if you introduce a cold brown to the outfit then it's going to look jarring.

For socks and shoes, the best look is cream socks with brown shoes. Cream socks with cream shoes might work if you can pull off pale colours, brown socks with brown shoes if you prefer darker colours. Brown socks with cream shoes probably don't work so well.

For the hair, anything in a warm tone would be fine. So if you have anything from blonde to brown to warm black (not blue black) wigs, that would work. If you're buying a new wig, look at your existing wardrobe and ask yourself what wig would work best with most of the stuff in your wardrobe.

Oh, anon...
That is a classic coord, not kuro or gothic.

If I were to wear the skirt, I would pick one color from the print that I really want to pop. Then I would look for leg wear that is black + whatever color I picked (tights more so than socks here). Same deal for head accessories--main color should remain black but you can add details for color.

With the blouse you have, I wouldnt suggest necklaces, but perhaps a brooch pinned on the jabot? Some similarly colored/themed bracelets or rings and you have a solid start. (If you want to go OTT I am absolutely no help, sorry!)

>> No.7582304

>>7582281
bringing out some of the colors featured in the skirt with a necklace/pendant and head wear is all you would need to keep the outfit as kuro as possible, yet still balanced.

I would actually love to see an elegant hat worn with this, with a long gold pendant of some sort. You could always embellish a black hat with ribbon or flowers etc too.

>> No.7582311

>>7582294
I second the idea of a large brooch on the jabot, since yes, as it is, a pendant would look awkward over it.

I think it's ok to give a kinda gothic spin on something more associated with classic; but hey, that's just me.

I'm not sure what type of weather you'll be wearing this in but the beret strikes me as a little warm for an otherwise summery/spring-like jsk? It goes well but unless you're trying to keep warm, something else may be more fitting? A summer hat embellished with flowers perhaps?

If you want to keep the head-wear that warm pink shade, then i would recommend shoes in the same shade to help balance it out. Failing that, have you considered looking for shoes and bag in tan leather/leatherette? Since the outside has a country sort of feel, it would be perfectly fitting, plus give you a lot more options regarding shoe sizing etc; not to mention you could probably shop in person on the highstreet for such items.

>> No.7582553

the blues don't match but they do kinda match the dress, which has various blue tones going on. the easiest way to 'fix' any awkwardness in my opinion, would be to add another small hair accessory in the same shade as the shoes, such as some little cute flowers, you could add cream too.

Having said that, I think it's the shoes throwing it off the most tbh, since they look slightly green toned, whereas the main fabric of the dress is more of a slightly purple toned blue.

ideally I would find shoes in a different shade of blue or consider using cream or country style tan leather/leatherette instead.

It'll be hard to tell if this looks ok. The problem is where the neckline on the jsk falls on the blouse, if the jsk neckline falls somewhere in the middle of the rose lace then it will look weird because the roses would be cut off by the top of the jsk. If you really don't feel like ripping out and resewing all those buttons, look for a bustier to wear over your blouse, and a pin-on jabot or ribbon to cover the top button that is above the bustier. You'll need something to cover up that really messy area between under your bra and the top of the high-waisted skirt anyhow.

It's a Phantom of the Opera-themed skirt, correct? If you DIY, you could get one of these Venetian masks, hotglue the mask and some black flowers onto a headband as a hairpiece. Add black lace tights and some music-themed accessories and a black handbag, and you're pretty much set.

Ditch the neck corset, it'll look weird with the jacket. Pick out a necklace instead.

I'd also switch the pink blouse for an ivory one that matches the hat, or alternatively switch to a pink hat, right now it's the only item in your entire coord that is ivory, and might just blend weirdly into your wig.

Beware that the tights may make your legs look "dirty" or bruised, the patterns kind of look like bruises.

This doesn't really work for me, the inner blouse is kind of a tan or beige-ish colour whereas traumerei is more a salmon pink. I think the headdress is all right, it seems a close enough match in colour.

Nitpick: I kind of feel like the socks go against the light, airy chiffony look you have going in all of the other pieces. Maybe lace tights or socks would work better?

I feel like this is going to be too busy, not only due to the intricacy of all the items but also because you're purples don't match. The shoes, skirt, neck corset (which you should ditch since your neck/bust area will already be busy with the jacket and blouse), and hair flower are all slightly different shades of eggplant/bordeaux, and then you have pale purples and pale pinks as well. Nix the hat, the hair clip, and the neck corset, and replace the shoes.

I think the purpose of a simple dress is to keep things simple.

If you would like to mix things up, I guess, try something with it that you've never tried before? eg if you normally wear blouses with this, try a bolero. If you normally wear kneesocks with this, try lace tights or print tights, if you normally coord around MaryJanes, try high heeled pumps. Start the coord with just the dress and the one different thing, then build up around it by adding other items that suit the look.

I think picking our the red jewels tones would be so pretty with this and really hep it to 'pop', such as elegant cream/gold semi-sheer tights/stockings and red shoes, possibly red and gold shoes with a matching red bag. Red/red x gold or gold for the hair accessories and a gold or red bolero.

I think you could also coordinate this with just gold too; for example, gold shoes, bag and hair accessories and bolero.

Gold jewelry or gold jewelry with subtle red accents would be so pretty with this too.

>> No.7590835

>>7589462
I think that bag, whilst not a bad or terrible match looks a little on the 'pop cute' almost cheap looking side compared to the elegance of the dress. I actually think an elegant bag in a neutral cool brown leather/leatherette would be preferable to the one in the collage. I think you might have better luck finding a bag like this, possibly even on the high street, rather than fretting about finding a fast ship bag in the correct shade of pink.

But hey, I'm not really from the school of thought that every addition to a jsk/op, particularly bags, must be of the same color.

I think to really complete this, a delicate pendant with a gem type or crystal embellishment in the same pale, soft classic pink would really help to pull the pink together. The pendant would need to sit above the neckline of the bolero, and preferably at a point that doesn't obscure the print awkwardly. To avoid this happening, the safe bet would be to choose something that sits on the exposed part of skin.

you may find this idea boring but I've always liked the simplistic elegance of pairing dresses like this with opaque white tights/stockings with everything else also in white - shoes, bag, hair accessories etc.

You could also do a similar thing but add dark navy shoes and/ or dark navy hair accessories if that's too much white for your tastes. I like the kinda clean, unfussy elegance of using block white and/or navy with dresses like this, rather than the obvious whitexnavy with lots of anchor embellishments etc.

For a simple more summery look, you could also try say, ruffle white ankle socks (not too lacy) with navy or white shoes and a straw boater hat with a navy or white ribbon and white bag.

If you're feeling brave you could try red as an accent color - white legwear with red shoes, and bag. A bit of white accent in with the red, particularly on the bag would help pull it all together, or even a redxnavyxwhite bag if you're concerned about it being too much of a contrast.

Even tan/brown leather/letherette shoes, bag etc can work with a dress like this, particularly when wearing with a natural straw boater hat.

Also check out quality normalfag co-ords for navyxwhite nautical looks, particularly those that have incorporated red into them - look at them with a 'lolita eye' ie, imagine them with lolita appropriate stuff rather than stiletto heels or whatever, and suddenly a whole world of ideas open up.

Actually, if you were going for an elegant, clean and unfussy look, I think semi-sheer gold shimmer tights/stockings would look so much better than a block of red color on your legs.

Definitely see where you were going with the goldxburgundy stockings - ideally dark red (ie correct matching red) with gold would be perfect, but those are too dominating imho and again, from your collage at least, don't look like the right color.

If you don't like the idea of adding red roses to the gold for the hair, have you considered say, tasteful use of red hair crystals? They look a bit tacky in the close-up, but when used sparingly and elegantly like the example pic, they can look quite lovely. Of course just the gold is fine if you like the more simple look.

Also, if you want to avoid the quack quack motherfucker effect, there are tonnes of more obviously swan-like gold pendants all over ebay that I think might look a little better. You could try 'bird wings' too if that appeals.

Oh and creamxgold stockings would look great if you're wearing a cream blouse with the dress. Perhaps not the diamond ones though since everyone seems to be sick of them (it was all I could find during a quick search).

looks like a nice semi-casual sweet coordinate to me anon. Some anons might rage on the lack of petticoat 'poof' but I think it looks ok as it is, there would certainly be no harm in adding a bit more fullness to the skirt however.

The hair bow is fine but it does have a slight 'plonked on top of your head' type look about it, possibly because of how far back it is. I'd probably prefer to see it as a side bow, with the accent clips on the other side but that's more of a personal preference thing. I'd prefer a pink(er?) slightly smaller bow too.

The shoes are fine too but (again personal preference) I would have chosen a slightly darker pink (like the shade in the center of your bag).

In summery, if I were to co-ord it, I'd use a slightly smaller, side pink hair bow in the darker pink like the shade in the center of your bag, then use that same shade for my shoes.

But hell anon, it's perfectly cute as it is.

Brown accents? Absolutely, think the use of brown leather in country type co-ords. I wouldn't go for plasticy, looking brown stuff though. Go for brown leather or leather look shoes and bag and keep the legwear white (ankle socks, sheer subtle design stockings, whatever).

Hey, respond anon here. I think you could successfully use tan, mid-brown or dark brown - just chose which you prefer and stick to it. The colors don't have to be 100% exact (plus there's more leeway when using leather shades) but the tones need to be the same; for example, don't mix dark with light or warm with cool. It is possible to successfully incorporate different brown tones but for this dress, I wouldn't try to complicate things too much.

The only browns i don't think would work so well, would be very reddish browns as it might look like you were trying to match the red in the dress and as a result, end up looking awkward. Pale peachy-biscuit brown might not work so well either in my opinion.

So, I admit, I'm very new to Lolita and this is me trying to create a chord for the very first time. [So yes, Babby's first chord.]

I know it's not brand, but I really loved Souffle's Song Seasonal Goddess dress in style 1 because of Mucha's art being on it. I'm really trying to keep it simple and highlight on gold and using brown as the neutral within.

I have an inverted bob [dark brown, below my chin by 2 inches] so I thought I could just do a nice job with my natural hair when I do get around to buying the chord. For tights I was just thinking simple white to tie it all together.

I'm really open to critique because I have no idea if I'd accidentally go ita. Also, I'd really love some recommendations for places to find cute patterned socks and tights. I wish to find rococo inspired tights [gold embellishment], but that just may be a never.

Personally I'd ditch the clutch and go with a gold purse instead, meta has a couple that might work. I like the blouse, but to make it fancy I'd add a gold necklace.
You can probably keep the headband thing you have right now, but I'd add a lacy headdress over it, so your head doesn't look so bare, and I'd switch the shoes out with something daintier.

Hey chord anon, I like where you're kinda going with this but it's slightly 'off' in my opinion - definitely not 'ita' though, so you can breathe a sigh of relief.

I kinda like the head chain/circlet but as well as needing a bit more 'oomph', it doesn't quite work in relation to the shoes. The circlet and the bag look like something more for evening wear, when you perhaps wouldn't want a large bag; it would work with say, daintier gold shoes and a chiffon shrug/bolero but again, the blouse also doesn't have the same posh evening vibe (although it's a beautiful match for the jsk).

I think the first thing in view of these nitpicks, is to establish what occasion you have in mind for your co-ord - is it a evening or ball type situation or is it for during the day? Warm or cooler weather? When you have that basic starting point, you may find it easier to work with.

Nothing wrong with coming up with several looks for a jsk of course, just try to keep the elements separate for each occasion.

I think the accessories, bag and shoes look great! - Really cute, but not ott cute.

Only thing I was thinking, as much as the beret goes, along with the tights and beret, it's starting to look a little 'wintery' or for cooler weather in general. If that's the kinda environment you'll be wearing in in then, go for it, otherwise I think a more summery vibe would be better, since it's a summery looking halterneck jsk.

I think a more summer-like look with this (if the weather permits of course) would be a cute cropped white bolero or cardigan, with white frill ankle socks (I'm sure there are some mostly white, cute strawberry motif socks out there too). You could even add strawberry embellishments to plain white socks (knee or ankle, whichever you prefer).

Did you not like the bow hairbands so much anon? I think a red bow hairband, such as in the collage examples, would really work for a summer look, you could then add little strawberry clips (or whatever you prefer) to the side of your hair - all whilst maintaining a cute, yet not super ott cute look.

I'm considering selling it to someone from the Facebook sales if I can't get any use out of it.

It's kind of an odd dress. I've never seen any really great coords with it, yet it's a pretty popular. I've made better coords with dresses a fraction of what I paid for Chat. I really like sugarypinkcupcake's otome-like take on the jsk, it also makes it great for more of a day outfit as well as cooler weather. You could try something similar with red, or in fact any of the shades featured in the jsk - using the same block color for cardigan and bag as she has.

You can use print tights of your choice in muted-ish colors and a off-white/cream/neutral beret - help tie your accent colors in with a brooch embellishment on the hat and cardigan, much like she has done.

Because you'll be choosing the items, it doesn't have to look copycat, use it as a sort of formula or template. You could swap out her cardigan and bag for ones in royal blue, green, gold or even a rich deep purple tone and it would be successful each time (provided you don't skimp on accessories, and creating a general polished look with your hair and make-up).

I really think it's the neutral/cream beret that makes this work, if it was red, the red accent idea would look so much more forced. You could exchange 'neutral beret' for a hat, or whatever items you like really, and add your own embellishments to them.

Honestly? I don't think that's really working at all, the cardigan being the most jarring thing. Cat ears mini hat is a cute idea but my god, you'd have to have a pretty spectacular hair arrangement to make that work. I also think it would be so much better without the cherries. It just seems far too 'theme costumey' for the relaxed vibe of the cardigan. I can see it working with a very cleverly arranged co-ord but not with your other choices at all.

The cardigan looks too generic and slouchy, possibly too long, and with a very deep 'v' neck. A round(er) collar that sits higher would be a much better bet. I may have got the wrong idea, but it's so difficult to picture.

Is the garment on the right a blouse? It looks so long, almost like a jacket, maybe I'm being dumb, but I can't quite make it out. Blouse + jsk + cardigan just seems like too much bulk and very unnecessary.
,
The red shoes aren't really a good fit for the jsk, they are just that bit too sweet/chunky looking imho. The black shoes are so much better.

Ultimately, there's too much bulk and a discordance between elegant formal/party elements and relaxed casual/semi-casual.

I didn't want to clog up the sweet lolita thread, so here's an outfit I'm considering on putting together for July 4th at Anime Midwest (considering that I have everything, but the socks, purse, and head bow).

I'm probably going to pick a similar satchel from F21 and make a different bow, however, it would still be a navy blue base with cotton lace. I'm not sure what I would do with my hair. It's pretty long and I'm only willing to wear wigs for cosplay. I don't know how it would all look with a chignon or not. Also, I'm going to keep an eye out for accessories. I have a pair of red rose earrings that I normally wear with this jsk, but I'm sure it would look better (in spite of a minor detail) with anchors or something.

The cat beret would be cute if it matched the color of the dress. But in my opinion it would be hard to pair something that cutesy with the elegant way the dress is designed and pull it off.

Both of those blouses don't have the right type of neckline and would look awkward layered under the JSK. If you want to keep it cute and casual, get a simple blouse with an open neckline that matches the ruffles/lace of the dress. If the blouse had a ruffle detail at the sleeves to echo the ones at the hem of the JSK, would look really nice. Print, balance and theme aren't the only ways to make an outfit look put together.

The tights don't match. Try and find something that goes with the theme of the print. Or at the very least, a basic pair of lace/crochet tights with a pattern that looks similar to the aesthetic of the frames in the print. It would be nice if they matched the color of the blouse.

If you want to bring a bit of 'pop' to the coord, try using colors that are in the print as an accent, but don't overdo it. The key word here is 'accent'. Maybe a red set of shoes and a matching bag? Jewelry with gold-tone hardware would really work well, too. A choker with a bow charm to match the kitten's would be adorable.

When in doubt use the KISS method. That's always my motto.

For the anons making Le Cadre du Chat coordinates in here, you need to know that the ruffles are antique white, not pure white. It's hard to tell because of the picture quality, but you might be right about at least the bag. I am personally not a big fan of those shoes in this outfit. While they'd probably be fine in plenty of others, I feel like you should be wearing something a bit nicer here. I also think low heels are always a better choice than flats.
While your coord isn't bad, you really need accessories, especially for a dress/print this OTT. It seems like you're trying to tone the dress down a bit, which is fine, but you still need bracelets or rings or something. Your hands look so bare compared to the rest of the outfit.

There's quite a few mismatched pinks which is a personal pet peeve of mine, I think this would look far better with a white bag as the pinks on the bag stand out the most, also it would balance out the socks and headbow. A poofier petticoat too so you dont have to hold your skirt out

Ok. I just hope I can find one. I have mixed feelings about this outfit because the jsk is too princess-like to be part of a typical sailor Lolita outfit. Here's an alternative option. I'm not a huge fan of skirts, but I own this and would like to make more use out of it. I'm sure it would also benefit from a navy bag,

I actually like the orange butterfly, your dress seems very sort of 'evening forest/nature princess' and it seems kinda like it just landed on your head, in the way a butterfly might land on you and not match your outfit. I know, I know, it's not a real butterfly but it's about the general feel of the outfit i guess.

What i think would look really pretty though, is if you added a second smaller butterfly slightly higher up, just past the second visible large flower cluster. This smaller butterfly could then be a lilac one. You may have better luck finding one if you search crafting supplies too.

Also, in attempt to strengthen my case, if you look, there are actually warmer, yellowish tones in the fabric design in the skirt too, not orange sure, but analogous warm tones.

I would probably go for slightly daintier, white heel evening sandals with this too, but that's more a personal taste thing I think. I quite like the matt-ish vinyl though, rather than something in satin that looks like a wedding shoe - it also syncs with the matt of the hair flowers too.

definitely no blouse, it's a beautiful and atypical design and just wouldn't lend itself to traditional lolita styling. It would also ruin the lines of the dress. On this occasion, sod the lolita rules and think more Parisian chic. I don't actually think black is boring at all, the key point is in the oriental fabric and too much fuss would distract from the whole dress's sort of restrained stylishness. If you really want a pop of color, do it with the bag and/or shoes and pick out a shade in the print. You could also add a subtle color accent to a say, a black hat too, maybe in the form of a brooch or small rosette. Gold could work as an accent color for the shoes and bag but the typically lolita type ones are going to look awkward I think.

I think the 'interest' in this outfit should ideally come from the quality of the shoes, bag etc and the hair and make-up styling, not from the addition of lots of pomp.

Just to add, if you're really uncomfortable with the bare arms, go with a sheer chiffony shawl. If you insist on a cardigan, make sure it's black and plain or with only a simple trim, one that falls at waist length and doesn't obscure too much of the upper bodice print design. A light jacket could still prove better than a cardigan.

Just to add, I know I said no to blouses (holy backtracking batman) but for the sake of variation and experimentation, I think the blouse in the image might just work, The material is very sheer, and the neck line is adjustable. It also has relatively narrow arm sleeves, whist not being too tight, so that it shouldn't look odd with the apparently snug looking armholes of the jsk. There is also just enough detail on it to add that bit of lolita elegance, without it being fussy in any way. Cheap as well, so if you don't like it, it's not a disaster investment and could be used with something else.

If you wanted something other than a beret or flower pieces for your hair, you could also try use of tasteful kushi kanzashi or similar.

That really should be it now for the info bombardment. Yup I do need to get out more.

I have this dress, and my advice is to keep it simple. It's such a dramatic piece already and has pretty clean/severe lines, you don't want to overwhelm it with too many ruffles.

I think the neckline works with both open-necked blouses and simple stand collared ones. I've worn it with Krad Lanrete's phantom blouse and the one in pic related, which is from Forever 21. You can also remove the front pleated panel and wear it over a bustle skirt or even a pair of kodona shorts.

>> No.7599754

>>7599643
It's a weird color, but I like this idea! I think ouji can get really boring sometimes with the exact same colorschemes/themes over and over. This is a nice way of making it interesting without making it costumey.

I think you should maybe add another small bit of teal into the outfit somewhere, perhaps see if you can find good quality teal ribbon at your local craftstore to lace your shoes with? I also think that hat looks a bit too casual compared to the rest of your coord, I would go with something a little more formal, or maybe just leave your head bare if you have good hair/wig to work with. While I feel a hair accessory is always a must in lolita, in boystyle I think it can go without sometimes.

I'm currently trying to settle on a color scheme to use with this dress. My first instinct is towards black blouse/black legwear/shoes/accessories in order to balance out how overwhelming the dress is.

However, the dress also has its own colors outside of the black in the pattern to work around, and I want to know if it would be best to use black, or if to use cream/white/navy as the colors for the background pieces instead. I am hesitant to go for those other colors simply because I'm worried that the tone in colored items will clash with the tone of the colors already in the dress, but I would like to know what my best option would be before starting to invest in other items.

You need a better blouse. The dress looks more of an offwhite/ivory and the blouse is too white. The shoes and the bag also doesn't look like the same shade, and the white lace on the bag might be too much of a contrast to the dress.

For a simpler coord, I would suggest removing the red bow on the dress and use mostly ivory or neutral tones items, like an ivory bag or just throw on a bolero (depending on its color, it can really spice up the coord!).

For a sweeter one, find a different red bag and add some more pops of red either in accessories (another small bow on the headbow, bracelets/necklaces, etc.) or patterned tights/socks.

Either way get a different blouse.

It's not that black would be bad but despite the fact there's a lot going on with the pattern, there's also a certain softness to it due to the slightly muted colors and cool tones; for this reason, I don't think black would necessarily be the most complimentary option, particularly if you go for block black blouse, leg wear, accessories etc. I actually think a deeper shade of analogous navy or even green - ie deeper, shade same tone (must also be cool and not warm) would be better if you like that contrasting 'color pop' effect that black has in conjunction with 'color and pattern' type jsks.
If you do go for black, make it a very sheer blouse so the black looks soft, and if you want additional black accessories, those should be a soft black too.

My gut when looking at this however, would be to pair it with a cool cream/ivory (don't go for the yellowish/buttery/orange looking creams, think 'on the cool side, rather than warm).

if you're still not feeling too confident about matching colors or using complimentary patterns and tones, cream/ivory lace tights or ankle socks (those are really cheap on ebay/ali btw, kinda good for variation) would probably be the safest bet. I think they would look very elegant too.

I haven't actually been that successful in my search for nice lace tights, so the collage examples aren't the best.

If any other anons have lace tights recommendations, that would be awesome.

I know anons tend to really hate mismatching creams etc but I don't think it looks that bad. I think the fact it's such a matt and opaque looking block of yellowish cream color that throws it a little. If you were pairing the skirt with more of a beige tone (like the shade on the chairs), it would really help to pull it all together.

It might be worth checking out ebay, aliexpress etc for say, peter pan blouses in beige shades to see if you can find anything (they do really pale pink-ish ones too). I also feel you can get away with colors that are more analogous than exact, if you choose something that's slightly sheer.

The beige and beige/peach blouse examples aren't ideal in terms of style, they are more color recommendations than anything.

If you want to wear the bolero still, a beige blouse with legwear in the same shade as the bolero should create enough balance to make it work.

Emily Temple Cute currently has a very pale cool pinkish blouse up at the moment but they are pretty expensive.
