Thoughts about Girlie Stuff? I'm thinking about this dress in this color, but I'm a tall lolita at around 5'8"-5'9". Some ladies in my comm commented that I should show my legs more, but do you think this will look short on me?

Judging by the bodice to skirt ratio, that dress looks short as fuck. I'd probably skip it.

Aah. Wasn't sure if there were too many bows or something. But it came from this store:

I think its a little too craft store fabric-y. Also the hem really bothers me. I think with the hem replaced, maybe more lace details, and a chiffon overlay on the skirt or a piegnor (I know I know I don't usually like them either) It could be really pretty! Kind of a cheap alternative to that Baby snow queen dress lol.

Any tips on finding dresses for someone new to the community? I'd prefer to buy from sellers in Europe (so second hand) to avoid ridiculous customs on everything, so probably no Y!J or Closet Child. I've made a list and have looked at Lacemarket and egl_sales, as well as googling the names + DS, but any other tips? I wish my country didn't have customs.

I find the inclusion of the store's name (Aiyou Lolita) too forceful and cheap-looking. It's a pity though as the dress has potential but ruined by the brand logo.

Aiyou is like such a cheapskate name. It sounds tasteless and cheap. Imagine scribing "Walmart" all over a lolita dress.

Aiyou also sounds like Aiyo which means "Oh no" in a more country-bumpkin way (than refined/formal/dignified situation)

Just chillax and wait out for what-was-it infanta? or another shop? a reputable shop is actually going to do a frozen print.

Bad idea. I don't know about other european countries, but where I live, you have to present the invoice to the customs office, and proof of payment, so either you have to fake these, or just pray it doesn't get caught. You can lose your stuff and even be charged if they get you.

Thanks for the tips. I'd definitely be nervous of declaring a drastically lower price though, since there's so much risk. I've never lost a package before but it'd be just my luck to lose a dream dress that's marked down.

>>7587201
That's what I figured, thanks anyway! It'd probably have to be at least €150 cheaper on Japanese sites to be worth it, which I don't imagine happens that often. At least I'm not trying for extremely popular prints (at least, I don't see them mentioned very often).

We thank you for all your patients with our crowns and how we are never able to meet with the demand! We hope that you will continue to support the original Madonna crown, first posted online in 2011 and not turn to some of the copies that have been appearing. The reason we can't keep up with the demand is because Sophia is still in school at a private art school were she spends 13 hours plus at school and then usually pulls all nighters on homework leaving 0% time to craft. Just because we are unable to sell lots of our product doesn't give anyone else the right to do so. This wouldn't be okay with a dress and isn't okay with an accessory either. So I just purchased my first brand dress. I gave up on lolita after I realized at the time I was very young and it wasn't financially easy to just drop a couple hundred on a dress on impulse. Now I'm older and have a well-paying job so I'm gonna go all out! I saved and was able to just go and grab whatever I wanted with dream dresses in mind and it felt really great!

But.. I'm really nervous because I feel like pressure is on for a really good coord since I'll be wearing brand now and I don't wanna end up on a nitpick thread. It's in a colorway I'm not used to, so I have no idea where to really start. I may just wear it "casually" and wait to build up pieces for a really pretty, well done coord. Maybe going fairy kei with it? Ah, I don't know. I have some ideas in mind but I won't have the dress in hand until then and I want to get an idea of how busy the print is and how well it would translate in to the kinda looser, flowy, fluffy stuff I see in fairy kei. I can match it up with some shoes I have and I found some opaque tights that I think may match up to the dress's, but I've been hesitant to buy them until I get the dress. Other than this dress, I doubt I'd have a single thing to coord them with.. But I don't have a good blouse for the style of the JSK so I was thinking just wearing a cute styled jacket to match up... but.. Ahh I don't know this is like my dream dress but I feel like I'm missing the key elements to how I want to coord it.

My account on AP's website shows that it shipped to Tenso on the 9th (though I never got an email about it).

What gives? And who should I email about this?

I've made coords before that didn't really end up in the ita thread that I've ever seen, but I wasn't well known at all and really only posted privately to my friends, but since I only really had a bit of money back before, I only picked up 'basics' I would think I would use later and maybe a couple simple skirts from here and there. Some of their skirts look great for a casual coord though so I don't know.

Speaking of Bodyline, I ordered two pairs of shoes from them recently and it seems there's a problem with the package once it entered the country. I tried to contact the main EMS transporter but they don't have it and I can't have any information. I tried to contact Bodyline to ask them to ask the post office from their side but I don't have much hope. I looked up their (terrible) info pages and it's basically "If we do error you screwed, we don't care."
They say once it leaves Japan it isn't their responsibility anyway but I doubt it's legal (you can't make up rules about returns and exchanges).

Should I try a paypal dispute if the package get lost ? I checked the shipping address and I didn't enter any wrong info.

I own a couple of R-series items, and they are really hit or miss. The blouses generally are of decent quality (regarding fabric and construction). Except for the buttons, you eventually have to re-sew them. But considering you have the same problem with most japanese brands to some extent as well, so I don't think it's that much of an issue tbh..
Be careful with some other items though, I used to own a velveteen corset skirt and they used shittier quality plastic boning than Aatp or bodyline. I didn't lace it tightly, but the boning completely deformed and poked out of the top just after 1 time wearing it. The skirt couldn't be saved anymore, because the fabric already was damaged too much. The velveteen also felt kind of cheap compared to the impression it gives on the stock photos.
I've only heard positive rewies about the shoes, they seem to use real leather which makes them really sturdy.

Anyone ever have a package get lost in their own town? I ordered a cardigan from Meta last week, and it's been in my town since this Wednesday, the last tracking update. What I don't understand is that it went to an unrelated post office from me, on the other side of town. I'm really worried now, this has never happened to me before. How do you all feel about getting your dream dress but not in the colorway you really wanted?

There's an AP dress from 2012 I need in my life and I've seen it go up in colorways I don't really like, maybe four times since then, but I've never seen it for sale in the colorway I want. I'm starting to lose hope that I'll ever get it in that colorway, and in good condition since time is passing and all. The dress is up again right now in an okay color that I can definitely make a coord with, but I don't love it, and I'm worried it's gonna look shit with my skintone, but I'm considering just settling.

It's cheap(er), but the quality isn't quite up to the same level as btssb, AP, VM, etc. Quite a few of the designs are outdated and can be somewhat ita or sort of cosplay-lolita-looking (you know, like if someone tried to copy a brand dress from 7 years ago with cheaper materials). It's kind of like a beginner's brand, a bit above Bodyline but below most other brands.

Strangely enough, it's always worked out, but all three times they were colourways I didn't mind and worked well enough with my skin.

I'd say if you have enough money to buy both this dress and your favored colourway if it pops up directly after, go for it. If you don't, well, 2012 wasn't that long ago. Chess Chocolate is from 2011 and dresses in fairly decent condition are still popping up for sale every month.

I'll try to help, but this is the most unusual story I've heard yet, normally my credit card is charged immediately as soon as I purchase something from AP. When they ship an item, I will get an email. When Tenso receives it, I will also get an email. So many things are out of order in your instance that I can't imagine what went wrong.

I take it you've checked all of your mailboxes, including spam boxes, to see that you haven't missed an email somewhere?

Regardless, if you've tried logging into your AP online shop account and it says the item has shipped, and you've tried logging into your Tenso account and nothing has been received, send Tenso an email asking for help. Include your order email from Angelic Pretty. It's possible that the item went to a different address or something.

You could also try emailing Angelic Pretty and simply say you did not receive notification that your order has shipped out, and that Tenso has not received it. Ask if they have shipped it yet and whether there is a way to track where the parcel is if they have since Tenso has not received it.

Then see where things go from there.

Good luck anon, it's not that we're ignoring your plight, it's just not the way an order happens for the rest of us. I hope you get your package sorted out.

Yes, I have definitely checked all of my mailboxes and made sure there wasn't a shipment notification, but my account definitely shows that my order was processed through AP and it even reflects the points I earned from that purchase. I hadn't considered the item going to the wrong Tenso address, I mean I copy+pasted my Tenso information and triple-checked it so I know I didn't mistype it, but it's still possible.

Is everyone so afraid of scammers that every single person gets the scammer treatment? This is really off-putting. This latest sales post I've made I've mostly had flaky buyers, including one that claimed a bunch of items and a trade, only to drag things out, drop all of the items she would need to pay for and then pull out of the trade altogether. Another one gave me her paypal really quickly, then messaged me back asking why I included shipping (it's listed at the top of my page. Why would you ask that) and then simply didn't pay the invoice. All this on top of buyers asking about shipping (it's at the top of my sales page. Really) or random questions but never following things up, not even to say "not interested".

I don't recall my last sales post being quite this annoying. Was I just lucky all this while?

To top things off, the mods are kind of dragging their feet. I understand everyone's having exams but my friend's application for unmoderation posting got approved and mine didn't (she commented one day ahead of me, still annoying that I'm still waiting though).
