I have two, and I really like both of them. One is white like that with a pendant on it, but without the extra pearls, and the other is black with the same sort of cameo-type center piece, but it's velvet ribbon instead of lace. I have a black lace bracelet with an attached ring as well. I think they can look nice, as long as the lace and metals / decorations used on them aren't cheap looking.

Still hoping I can find someone that has a bust measurement for this. It's constantly in re-release, but because it's a cut-sew lolibrary lists it as free-size. Which is less than helpful.

Not sure if this is a valid concern but do these look okay on those with flat chests? I imagine the pendant might draw the eye down to the bust.

It might be that you don't tend to see people wearing those because you'd need a low-necked blouse or OP to show it off, which I don't often see.

Honest opinions on malco modes 582 petti?

I placed an order for a CP petti about a month ago, but my agent says another client has been waiting 6+ months. I want the rest of my order before ILD, so I'm canceling the order for that petti. Only problem is I want a decent petti by ILD, so taobao is not an option.

I own one. It's very soft. I found it a bit too long, but you can take the waist elastic out and re-thread it to make it shorter... poof level is probably similar to the CP daily a-line.

I'm looking at the facebook mentoring group, does anyone else think they give bad advice just so that they can stay nice? Whenever anyone ask any questions about their weight, tattoos or piercings whatsoever they just post what the person asking wants to hear. I'm new to reserving items and I just wanted to clear up some questions I have. For customs, I was planning to avoid them by having the items sent to the Tokyo office of my mums work and have them send it to me via gift/marked down. However I just found this on the reserve item page:

>>Since it is treated as domestic online-shopping when the delivery address is in Japan, payment will be accepted only through the Japanese bank.
The payment through PAYPAL cannot be accepted.

Does this mean I can't do that without a japanese bank account?

Also the socks for the set say:

>>Please make reservation of the socks necklace, choker and clip by E-mail.

I managed to reserve something being within the UK and having it being sent to a Japanese address (yet to be sent though as I did this last month) but the only way possible is to do a bank transfer. It's very complicated and in terms of the cost of an international bank transfer it may be more worthwhile getting a SS to reserve the item for you who will mark down the item. I used Western Union Transfer as the fee was only just under £10, if I did an urgent bank transfer it would have been about £30, however WUT make their money by also giving you an exchange rate worse than what the banks would offer.

Just double over the pearl part so the necklace has two strands, then re-attatch the clasp at the back. If you need some extra length then some chain at the back would work well.

>> No.7556916

>>7556853
If it's a lobster clasp, all you'd have to do is to clip the end of the necklace in between two pearls to alter the length. Just let the extra length hang down in back (moving the bow to the other side if that's the bow end). This doesn't require you to alter the necklace in case you want to resell it. If not, you can always add on a lobster clasp that you could remove, which also wouldn't alter the resale value since you'd simply remove the extra clasp before selling it.

I think it's actually designed that way so it doesn't clash with anything that's on your blouse neckline, if you check out AP blouses they tend to make them with bows on the collar, pussy bows, pussy bows with fringes, lace everywhere, novelty buttons, and so on.

The necklaces that I have with their matching jsks always end up in the right place whenever I wear a high collar blouse with pussy bows. It's nice that it's long, I can clip a brooch to the pussy bow and still have the necklace be visible. Maybe try that look first and see if it works out for you. How bad is the damage? Take pictures and ask the seller for a 10-15% reduction.

Warm the pleather up with a hair dryer and let it hang down naturally until gravity pulls the creases out.

>paint chipped off.
You mean the outer layer of the pleather, right? There's nothing you can do about this, you can obtain a matte nail polish in a matching shade to patch up the flaked up areas and the chips, but it will still be somewhat noticeable.

Basics are anything that the outfit is incomplete without. So yes, blouses and petticoats, but also generic headdresses and accessories that you can use to finish multiple outfits, and super basic, simple skirts or JSKs that you can pair with multiple items for different looks.

Gothic is a great substyle to take advantage of layering with, so having plainer pieces to pair with fancy coats/printed skirts/whatever is always a plus.

When I first started, a friend put it this way: pick your core colours and buy items within those colours until you have cohesive outfits. Don't be tempted by others until you've got your staples built up. So I chose wine red, black, and ivory. Got blouses, in ivory and black, skirts and JSKs in black and wine, and accessories/shoes in all three. That way, by mixing things around, I could form a bunch of outfits without much effort.

After a while, started adding other colours in (navy, dark green), without having to spend an arm and a leg, because I already had basics that suited them.

Bodyline, taobao (qutieland if you insist, they just cost more), lacemarket. lacemarket is great because you can search it easily, just type in "white socks" or whatever and you'll see everything available. I personally don't think F+F has very nice basics.

You'll have to start looking at bodices that have a lot of break up in the design or an overall pattern to hide the loaf. The only way I can think this makes sense is if your friend had a replica, no longer wanted it and simply gave it to you, at no cost, for you to practice on. If that happens, then I guess you can use it for sewing practice, and if it ends badly you lose nothing tossing it in the garbage/goodwill bin.

The main reason using replicas to practice sewing on doesn't make sense is just the cost -- Oo Jia's fabric cost 35usd sans shipping. You could probably find much better fabric at less cost at your local fabric store, or even just order in something. If you bought a new jsk from her, prices are over 100usd. Secondhand prices, once you add in the shipping fees, aren't much lower. Look, this really isn't the cheapest material you can get to practice sewing on. If it goes badly, you'll have wasted all that money.

Add to that, you know that there's a stigma attached to replicas. So even if it goes well, you could put on the dress, go to your first meetup, and find out you don't like wearing replicas/other girls hate you for wearing a replica.

It's really more a question of why you would want to throw money at buying the fabric/dress, energy and time at sewing it up, when you could start with nicer fabric from a fabric store, and make something that doesn't have this negative stigma attached to it.

In terms of names being known, I'd say AP and Baby on the sweet side, and Moitie is very popular with gothics.

Mary Magdalene and Innocent World for Classic.

Metamorphose is less popular because they have a fair amount of trainwreck dresses, but they're my personal favorite, because when they get it right, they get it very right. They also have a lot of cute sailor dresses, which I love.

I've noticed a lot of lolitas have problems with health issues.

>I have an illness that makes it hard/impossible for me to work.
>I can't go to meets because I get exhausted easily.
>I'm too anxious to go out in lolita.

I personally don't have problems, but it seems common to havle a disability in the fashion. like, more so than other subcultures. Does that have anything to do with the kind of person who likes Lolita clothing? Does Lolita attract this kind of girl?

I've noticed this too. I think it's more a correlation between both things and special snowflakery, rather than illnesses themselves and lolita. Okay, here's my advice, but you're going to have to be willing to A.) work hard, and B.) sacrifice a lot of your morals/opinions or change things about yourself you might not want to change.
If you're willing enough and motivated enough, it might work out for you. The people who get far are the ones who are willing to make sacrifices and change. Just look at your example of Kota.
> 1. Do not exclusively go for Lolita. Branch into all 'kawaii' styles, specifically the most popular ones and the most forgotten ones. You don't have to do the popular ones well or even spectacularly, just enough to get a "pass". However, for the forgotten / overlooked styles, go all out and do them better than anybody else has. This will make you stand out and give you a distinctive image.
> 2. You will need a YouTube, Tumblr, Instagram, and Twitter. Don't worry about a Blogspot / Wordpress page - people don't use those anymore because it's too difficult to follow them nowadays. Set up a day of the week where you will always upload a YouTube video - this way people will know when to check your page. For your Tumblr, don't just reblog images - post outfit photos, photos from events you go to, and a witty text post now and then. Don't be afraid to leave funny captions on reblogs, but don't caption every single reblog and don't promo yourself. Use your Instagram to post mundane, everyday things from your life: a cute cupcake you made, redecorating your room, a new dress arrived in the mail, etc. It lets people feel like they're closer to you. Use your Twitter to interact with people, respond to questions, and link to updates on new Instagram and YouTube posts. Make sure all of your social media have a cohesive look, color palette, and imagery.

>> No.7561590

>>7561589
> 3. Do not have an opinion on anything. Do not talk about political / hot button topics. Do not talk about SJW things. If people send you Tumblr asks or Twitter messages about these things, do not respond to them. However, it's okay to be against replicas (but not adamantly) and be pro-LGBT (but not straying into SJW territory)
> 4. Make friends with popular people but try to keep them at a distance. With Tumblr-famous "kawaii-chans" it's difficult to tell whether they'll explode into a drama-bomb one day. Try to avoid telling them secrets or personal details. If they get into drama, DO NOT TAKE SIDES. Instead put on a happy face and pretend like it's not happening, you don't know these people, and you're not involved.
> 5. Avoid popular / overused styles or clothing articles. Try to find something "original" that is still pretty generic. (ie: don't wear ballet heels with your classic Loli just because 'omg zo originalzzz'). The reason is that you don't want to blend in with all the other "kawaii living dolls" that are prancing around online, but you don't want to be so different that you fall into the "this is barely qualifying as the fashion" zone.

>> No.7561591

>>7561590
> 6. Recognize that a majority of people in your fanbase will be itas who will admire anything you do, people looking to get into the styles who need guidance, and a combination of the two -- just read any comments on any related video: "OMG ur so kawaii ne~~ i luvs ur undercut hehe totes kawaii desu ne ^^", "I'm looking to get into Lolita so I'm wondering where you bought your dress?", "ugh i want to be a rorita so badly but theres nowhere where i live that sells it!! and all the stuff online is way too much!! im 12 btw" Try your best not to be bothered by these people, as these are the ones who are going to support you and get you more recognition. They will be your most loyal followers. Don't get annoyed or disgruntled with them, in fact I would recommend ignoring them completely spare for answering one or two newbie questions every now and again.
> 7. You want to maintain a 'close distance' with your followers - what I mean by that is that you want to make them feel welcome and a part of your life, but you don't want to get too personal or comfortable with them. Avoid telling personal details, such as stories about your exes or current relationships, issues you might have with mental health, your current living situation, etc. People like to be fans of others because they are supposed to be uplifting / motivating people - they never show the bad parts of their life or the bad sides of their personalities. Their life is "ideal" and "perfect" at all times in the eyes of the camera. Only reveal this personal information if you're going to display it in a motivating light -- for example talking about your suicidal / depressed past on Suicide Awareness Day, your journey from 500lbs to 100lbs, curing yourself of cystic acne, etc.

I agree completly, those are great advices though I would just add that blogs are great.

A lot of people still love blogs rather than twitter or tumblr because it's only your own content, and if you know a few seo things you can attract followers easily with google (ie: if you blog often enough with the right keywords, connect it to your G+, people searching for lolita, kawaii stuff might find your blog)

The good thing is brands kinda dig that, you might get free stuff to review or do give away. A friend of mine used to blog daily about video games, stopped and is still invited to Nintendo events or offered to make his followers win a wii u, stuff like that. A blog is a great way to be noticed in my opinion, but you need to blog often with nice pics.

Invest in a good camera.

I also forgot to add that you should provide links to all your accounts on every page. So your YouTube video description, YouTube page, Tumblr description, etc. Twitter and Instagram are difficult because they only allow one link and the descriptions have a character limit. I'd suggest linking to either your Blog or your YouTube.
If you want it to become a full-time thing, you should look into using Google Adsense. If you decide to set that up, I'd suggest then linking Twitter & Instagram to your YouTube, because Adsense pays per 5 seconds of advertisement viewed, whereas Adsense for blogs only pays for clicks on ads.

Never been hit by customs. USPS is extremely lax and in all my years of ordering from taobao and speaking to friends ordering from taobao, only one has ever been hit by customs from USPS for a pair of antaina shoes oddly enough. So if you're going EMS or SAL, you'll be fine, they go through USPS. If you are ordering directly from a taobao shop, they do not know what EMS is (which baffles me?) and will offer FedEX or DHL, in which case you'll want to go DHL, a slightly higher chance for customs with DHL, but FedEX is the one that does the most customs charges.

I thought about buying this, it looks really nice and to have a cheaper dress would be neat,.
How does the wait fall on you? I'm shoer (5'1'') and I don't want it to fall too short.

Can I rant about the sales comm for a moment?

I'm so sick of people not reading my terms of sale. I constantly have people asking me questions that would take them less time to answer if they just read my damn intro rather than messaging me.
Also, if a seller requests payment within a specific time frame, pay within the time frame, goddamn it.
I make it so clear that I am open to holds/payment plans/whatever so long as they're discussed with me beforehand. Don't "buy" my items and then ignore my messages for four days when you were supposed to pay for them shortly after I sent the invoice.

I wish I could go on a negative feedback spree.

If by your last point you mean you invoice people and they don't pay it in time, a mod told me you can leave negative for that. Honestly, each fucking mod has their own rules, it's ridiculous.

I put it on quickly without anything else on. I need to take it in, but I'm 5'8with a short torso and the torso length is great.

Wow, for a second I thought they had added an underbust JSK version of this! Now I really want that, the halter JSK wasn't very flattering on me and the skirt I mostly just use as an underskirt... I wonder if the OP could be modified to an underbust?
