Old but still cringe-worthy

I recently bought my first from Infanta, and I love it (pic related). I specifically went for that one because it was longer than what AP releases. I'm 5'8", and it is a few inches above my knees, but not inappropriately short. Still wouldn't recommend it to busty girls, but tall girls shouldn't completely dismiss them.

I'm 5'5, 85/72/90 and I was thinking of getting a Milky Planet salopette. I was leaning towards this one since a lot of people said it was larger than usual AP. Or should I just get the JSK?

Weight does matter, when it causes the things you're wearing to look horribly unflattering. You can be fat, dress to your body type/shape (up to a certain extent) and look great, but that's not what PT is doing. Like what many people have said, salopettes don't look good with massive boobs peaking from the sides.
That blouse is unflattering as Hell on her too.

As far as the face thing goes, at least PT isn't doing her stupid duck lips, which is legit horrible and ita.

Im 5"2 and most AP is somewhat long on me, but the salos are the perfect length! I think any shorter might be uncomfortable though..

I'm only 5'3" and my boobs are only 86-88 cm and salopettes are still too damn short and my bust is too big for them. I think it has to do more with the fact that a salopette's cut is more forgiving than an OP or a JSK in the sense you have more space to squeeze your rolls into. However, it still looks like shit if you're fat or your chest is too wide.

It's because fatties confuse clothing measurements for clothing size. Many of AP's salopettes them have a 100 cm waist, but that waist is meant to be loose and low on the hip. The wearer should have a 70 cm at the most. (and honestly, waist size is pretty meaningless with salopettes, it's more about bust/hip measurements)

Even though I really like it, I feel like a massive ageplayer in my candy sprinkle salopette. But my infanta one I think is pretty cute and a good length. I got the size medium and it's actually fairly long, despite me being relatively tall.

taobao brands, infanta does these especially. Also for cheap, AP and other brands have put out non print ones that are really cute but relatively cheap because they're not prints. Polkadot chocolate in particular is cheap, but there are others too.
I've also seen "salopettes" at Forever 21. They are perhaps not as cute and frilly as Japanese brands, but they are the same basic concept and could be accessorized very well.

I look really good with salopettes, well i'm petite and flat chested for this i fit them but i think even for someone who isn't that skinny salopettes are ok but they have to be short in height and not boobs more than a C or it would like look like your overgrown the dress.

Today i used my Dream Fantasy salopette in black with low heels, toned down stuff like a simple short cardigan with a flower, lavender tights and a simple bow bag. Most of the stuff was black. It looked really good and more mature!

So what's the deal with Salopettes? Are they just shorter than regular JSKs? Looks like also the cut for the bust area is a little more narrow, so if you have boobs they kind of just out or something.

I was looking at the AAtP Crown Salopette an intro to lolita since it has a nice, simple design, but the reviews for the dress weren't too favorable.. Is it just because it's a difficult fit? Pic related. Coord suggestions super appreciated (preferably something from Baby/AP/AAtP because I'm local to those stores and it'd be nice to try them on in person)

Most of the times are fairy kei or if brown or jewel tones, otome. But some salopettes are long enough to be lolita if you adjust the straps and there is room for a petticoat and they hit the knee or just a bit above the knee. I fit salopettes just about the knee a bit.
