Where do you guys get your shoes? How many shoes do you have and what colors?

I saw that Dear Lenore finally has a real website. Though it looks like they're just Lenore now? I might spring. There are a lot of negative reviews, but it looks like that's about communication and shipping, not quality. I can deal with that. As long as the shoes aren't shit.

not sure if for here or general thread but if you're posting shoes to sell on the comm sales, you should probably remove the sale price tag first (or flip it over)... especially when you're charging over double the price you paid.

uh, the most uncomfortable shoes I own are original Liz Lisa shoes. They are just killer on the feet, wow. The most comfortable (heeled) shoes I own are probably those little suede triple bow t-strap shoes that people order off taobao all the time. I have 3 or 4 pairs?

I can't tell the different between my real AP TPs and my secret shop ones, it's embarrassing, I have to check the sole stamp. I also own a pair of the real AP engineer boots and they are much nicer than the secret shop knock offs. The pleather is... softer? like it's really nice, and the shoes don't squeak with air when you walk on them, like the secret shop ones do.

I really love my bordello whimsy boots, those are also really comfy if you're looking for a comfy shoe that can fit a range of styles.

Haven't heard anything other than my automatic order confirmation, but that seems to be par for the course with her. The order status on the website says "complete", but in all honesty, I'm not even sure what that's supposed to mean, it could mean my shoes are done, that they're shipped out, or just that the payment/order was successfully completed?

I'll review them once they arrive; if they turn out to actually fit and look good, then the worry will have been worth it. She reeeally needs to work on order status updates though if she wants to get past this reputation.

Lis Liza shoes always go for cheap on mbok if anyone is ever looking for some, and they always have a ton up for auction. I got those for about 50 bucks all together with fees and about 10-12 bucks for shipping.

I've just bought these, my 3-straps fit me really well and are incredibly comfortable despite the heel, so I'm hoping these are the same! The website doesn't have the best customer reviews in terms of speed, but I don't need them for a specific event so hopefully it won't be too bad for me.

I'm not sure about the current design of the 3-straps (with the added bows). They're the ones I have, but is sometimes feel that the bows are too much detail and that the plainer ones would be more versatile. I'd say that they're true to size - I'm an EU 39, and it fits perfectly with thin tights on (haven't worn it with thick socks).

In terms of other shoes, everything is offbrand Mary Janes or T-bar straps because I prefer to wear real leather. I'm thinking about getting shoe clips for them to make them a bit fancier, but I haven't found any I liked yet. I think my most worn pair is brown knee-high lace up boots, so much so that I'm searching for a pair in black.

I ordered from Dear Lenore in the beginning of February, and I still haven't received the shoes, though she said it would only take 2 weeks. On average, I had to send at least 3 messages for her to reply. There were two periods of time where she completely dropped off the face of earth and wasn't replying at all; the first time was for around 2-3 weeks, and she offered a free pair of of a new design of shoe in apology, which would "take a week longer", or she could send them out right away. Since I didn't need the shoes by a certain time, I accepted the offer. After replying to her and telling her what color/size I wanted for the extra pair, she went MIA for almost a month. Over the course of that time, I messaged her around five times, inquiring on the status of my shoes, with no reply. Finally, I posted an obviously unhappy post on her page, detailing my grievances and also clearly stating that I would probably be giving her negative reviews online. She replied to my post within the next day, saying that she had shipped the shoes and that the tracking number was on paypal, although she had never contacted me about it at all. I checked, and I did have a tracking number added to the transaction within the past couple of days. Apparently, though she did not reply to others who had been posting on her page and trying to get in contact with her (though she did reply to me).

I'll do a full review when the shoes actually come in.

I have terrible experience with both Secret Shop (dents, fraying and broken soles after a few months of wear) and Antaina (most uncomfortable heels ever, can barely reach the bus stop in them) and it seems Dear Lenore is basically out of commission.
At this point I'm considering just buying whatever comfy heels I can find locally and just spraying them... or are there any Taobao/aliexpress shop with confirmed quality? I'm not overly trusting of the short chinese reviews.

For me, If the only photos are stock photos I just kind of assume they bulk ordered knockoffs. If it looks like it was taken in someone's bedroom (you know what I mean...) then I tend to assume it's a genuine product and someone is cleaning out their closet. A lot of independent sellers (like, people like us) will say where they bought their shoes from and sometimes how much they were originally for proof. If they don't, ask them.

If it says "new without box," definitely ask for more photos. If they can't provide any non-stock photos, they are probably knockoffs from a factory bulk order. Most people selling genuine new shoes will have the box. Sometimes they bought them originally at a place like Ross or TJ Maxx or something (well, maybe not VW) or used but in that case they should still be able to take more photos.

If it is a US seller and from a city that isn't a main one like LA or San Fran or NYC, they are probably genuine. Usually those cities are used by Chinese sellers to give the image that they are shipping from the US. If it's shipping from Bumfuck, Virginia, they are probably real.

If the price is too good to be true, it probably is. Occasionally you get lucky because some noob lists all their designer stuff with a $.01 starting bid and no reserve price, but usually the cost will be pretty close to the original price unless they are significantly worn or damaged. Probably don't expect to spend less than $50 and that's if you're lucky or don't mind scratches.

I will only buy a shoe listed as genuine from a seller with stock photos only if they are connected to some larger company with a good return policy or they have 100% reviews (or at least very close).

there's always the chance that the seller was originally sold a knock off and just didn't know and presented it as if it were not one, but that's rare.

Usually I get cheapass shoes or ebay or aliexpress, but I've also had lots of luck with outlet stores and second hand/vintage.

If you have a Sears Outlet around that sells shoes, make sure you go right when the retail stores start putting out stock for the new season, as they get an influx of new stuff then to get rid of. I've seen knee-high leather boots for $30-$60 on sale regularly. For myself, I managed to snag two pairs of cute oxford heels, one navy suede, one wine, for $12 each.

Having pretty big feet (9W US) makes things kinda hard but I've had some luck in thrift stores. Managed to find cute mary janes, loafers, and oxfords as well.

I have a pair of real ones and a pair of the same ones but in knockoff form. They look virtually identical (dif colors) but the actual ones are obviously higher quality. The color is good/even throughout. The bow is fastened in the same or a similar way, it hasn't come off at all. The knockoffs had a chemical smell that took a while to get rid of at first. The knockoffs are kind of "hard" despite being jelly in comparison but aren't horrible. It's very subtle differences but noticeable when altogether.

They aren't terrible knockoffs. Neither shoe is all-day-wear level comfortable imo. To be honest, if I want any more of this type of shoe and can find replicas I will probably buy them. I know, I know.

FYI knockoffs seem to run true to size while the genuine ones run a little large in my experience. Others may have a differing opinion. I have only worn the slingback style heels and rainboots.

Yup, they're VW. However, if you wait for a sale they're not too bad - both pairs of mine cost me £50 including postage and packaging (both were brand new).

First pair was from Daniel Footwear, who were really good - lovely packaging, dispatched and arrived quickly. Second pair are from BrandAlley which seem to be a little more dubious. Their Facebook is full of people complaining about items not being sent, but then (as I said) I don't need them for a specific event so I decided to chance it! I can always claim back if they don't arrive. (Daniel Footwear had them on sale at some point for around the same price, but I missed them). I know BrandAlley still have some of the three-straps in and on sale if anyone wants to risk it!

>>7518656
I'm tempted by these but I don't like the little bow on the front of the shoe. They remind me a lot of rocking horse shoes, but without the heel!

That reminds me, I also have a pair of Mel by Melissa toffee apple wedges (pictured) that are also super comfortable. I just wish that they were closed toe though!

Try this, comparing "Big kids sizes" to "women's sizes" - you can see the overlap. Compare the size to your foot length in centimeters (when you're standing), and go from there.

You just have to make sure that the shoes you're getting are kid's or women's.

It depends; lots of things on Aliexpress are only a little bit more expensive than on Taobao and offer free shipping to overseas. However they do not have as much selection or shops as Taobao.

When ordering from Taobao you pay for a shopping service and for their shipping services so it is more, however if you're doing a large order it may be worth it.

It just depends on how much the shoes cost on Taobao combined with their weight (remember shoes are pretty heavy) vs. How much they cost on Aliexpress with their base fee & free shipping.

She did contact me; I went to sleep so I didn't update the review yet. At first she sent me this huge message basically saying "well you already published a review on them so you're not getting shit from us" in a relatively politer way, of course. Then maybe an hour later she contacted me again and said that I could send the shoes back for a refund. I refused for all but the light red shoes (seeing as I'd have no use for them since they're the wrong color) because honestly I did not spend all that time and stress to end up having to go find another place to get shoes. She replied that I could get a 10% refund on the pairs I was keeping, and get a full refund + shipping cost for the one I was sending back. I agreed to this, and she refunded the 10%. It seemed kinda like she was back pedaling fast from her first response, but at least I got some refund, I doubt I'll get the extra shoes, but I'll live.

I'm an idiot and bought these one size too big. Do you gulls have some tried-and-true methods to make too-big shoes fit a little better? Bonus points for making cheap shoes more comfy, too.

Anyone? I messaged them, but since I explained the problem by saying when you mouse over the beige picture it says pink they just responded "Yes we have pink."

fuck

When ordering shoes from Aliexpress, do you use your regular shoe size? I can't decide what to pick and on one seller's listing, they said to order a size up because asian shoe sizing runs small.

Shit mate. I'm hoping maybe since my order was only one pair of shoes that I won't have such terrible timing issues? Then again, by now I'm more concerned over whether I'll get them at all let alone how long I'll have to wait

Too big: get insoles
Uncomfortable: Dr. Scholl's inserts
Too small: Put a bag of water inside the shoe, put the whole thing in the freezer, remove bag of water after it's completely frozen. The water expands and slowly stretches the shoe. Some materials can't go in the freezer though so be careful.

Another method if they're too small is wearing them around the house wit big ass hiking socks.

Dunno when I'd get to wear them though.

Waiting on my first pair of Fluevogs. I've bought mostly only cheaper shoes before (60-100 price range), so I've been wearing mostly Mojo Moxy and Irregular Choice, which both have very pretty shoes, but which aren't great for comfort. I'm kind of stoked to finally be getting shoes that are meant to be comfy and last long.

Do they ship to Canada? The site it kind of confusing.

In particular, I'm looking for a pair of off-white or light brown mary jane heels. I actually had an order through Golden Ponies and after 3 weeks of waiting I was refunded without an explanation as to why. I had to e-mail the seller just to have her tell me that she forgot about my order.

Nothing with ankle straps or t straps (will just make your ankles and feet look shorter and fatter) and opt for heels or wedges over platforms when possible.
