Latest Costume was Tsumugu from Kill la Kill. I really love this character and his super serious attitude. It was a lot of fun getting in character and messin' with other kill la kill cosplayers, huntin' down their Life Fibers. Construction wise this is something I am very proud of. Functional pockets, pouches, zipper fly, boot covers, and some armor that came out way better than I expected it to.

The vest itself is my favorite piece purely out of design.

All in all, I love this outfit and it is a lot of fun to wear!

i always dig a selfpost. i'm the leona in this pic (from league of legends) I threw the costume together in a week because i was asked to cohost an LCS finals screening event on the 20th. I'm hoping to remake some things, including fixing the headpiece to my head better, repainting the shield and sword to match my bodysuit, actually finishing the shoes, making the gauntlets more comfy to wear (i barely wore them for the whole event), and just going through and fixing my fuckups that were caused by rushing. I'm just glad I had it done in time to meet ironstylus!

I love that hair! How did you do the wig?

My latest is Valkyrie 1.1 from Wondercon, first time wearing it after the first rushed version last spring. I need to style my wig better and I made some major rookie mistakes on the armor, but hopefully version 1.2 will iron those out. That fucking sheepskin was hot as balls, though. I think characters with (partial) buzz cuts are the exception to the "always wear a wig" rule. Always ALWAYS looks better if it's actually real. Fake buzz cut wigs always look kinda gross.

I'll bite even though I'm still a newbie.
Latest was Youmu from Touhou. This was more than a month ago, but it's the first cosplay I sewed all by myself, so I'm pretty happy it didn't turn out to be a complete disaster even though it's not really a complicated cosplay in the first place.
Didn't really have time to learn how to make wood props from scratch though, so I just bought a cheap set of swords online and repainted them. The katana is actually too short and the paint job looks kinda wonky up close 'cause I'm dumb and I rushed but eh.

Me and boyfriend's most recent is Jojolion, Yasuho and Josuke. It was hella fun to wear because Jojo fans are some of the most excited and fun people to meet at cons. I made my entire costume and his shirt, and he made the belt, emblems, and hat.

The part that took the longest was making a bunch of ribbon and embroidered flowers on the skirt (the smallest ones are spiderweb roses, the rest are folded & glued).

The sailor short was the hardest because I basically had to make up the pattern from very little, and I've never done that before. I wanted it to have that distinctive wide neck opening though, so it was totally worth it.

Gonna bring it to Fanime to wear again and I'll practice posing harder because I never quite got them right, looking at the few pictures I have of us

I finished freelancer Faris (Final Fantasy V) way ahead of time for ACen so I'm going ahead and remaking the vest (something I was going to do afterwards but hey if i've got time). I'm making it longer and more like a sleeveless pirate coat this time, with suedecloth instead of that awful shiny shit. I'm also dying a floral pattern with a slightly different shade of blue along it, which is taking forever because i'm doing it via stencils and it's a lot of fabric (it's turning out rather well, though). I have to say I really enjoy doing cosplays from older games, where you can enjoy a nice amount of creative freedom. I'm also nearly finished with a freelancer Bartz cosplay for my sister. We found chocobo buttons for his cuffs.

I want to fix up Nausicaa more before posting it so I'm going to post Perona! I had a lot of fun with this cosplay. I need to fix up some stuff on it for next time but overall I'm pretty happy with it. Going to make the back curls better and do something about the hat. I made it to small and never got the chance to fix it, so definitely need to redo that.

I don't know what this is from but it looks pretty nice overall. Lots of attention to detail, like the pronto the cuffs and the triangles on the cape. My only bit of advice would be to put just a few bits of boning in the bodice, just to really clean up the fit, especially with those nice structured cups up top

The character is Meruru from Atelier Meruru.

I posted him in the last self post thread we had going but I'm still kind of excited about Vector even though I still have work to do before I wear him to a con (re-doing my sword mostly). This was my second time making armour and it's just craft foam because I'm too scared of spending money on materials I'm not familiar with at the moment. I'll get past the beginner stage with it eventually though.
The wig was a pain and a half, most time I've spent on one since I started. Thankfully it's rock solid though and doesn't get messed up when I wear the cape's hood up.
I had to make a top because the asshole goes shirtless and I need somewhere to hide my boobs. My need to cosplay him outweighed the need for having him 100% accurate if I did though so here we are, wearing a top.

And thank you! The neckpiece and bracers are craft foam, the small boob plates are cast resin, and the large boob plates are paperclay over craft foam. Oh, and googly eyes for rivets.

Haha yeah that was me. I fucking love panchams. They're one of my favorite Gen 6 mons. I won't lie. After a while throughout the day the repeated questioning/calling of "are you rufio?" slowly got to me. I've never been mistaken for a different character that much in a single day. It was surreal to keep it polite lol. But it's cool, at the end of the day, not everyone watches the same things and in some ways I could understand how people could think I'm Rufio, I just think the outfit differences are worlds apart.

To answer your question, with what I typed above. A ton of people kept calling me Rufio throughout the con and even during Cosplay Chess, where I said and had my name repeated multiple times, people came up to me afterwards asking if I was said character from Hook. And a good chunk of the people asking looked like they were too young to even know who Rufio was, let alone know the movie Hook. At the end of Saturday it was a bit much and it was the aggravating joke of the weekend lol. Next time it happens, I'm just gonna keep my cool and just set em straight.

The corset needs some fixing since it came out too high up for some reason, but that can be fixed. It was really heavy, but it actually was the wig that killed me. The legs made it really hard to run back to my hotel room when I felt like I was going to pass out, but they popped out so that helped.
I actually got called a bit when I rather aggressively ripped one out of its socket because I felt like I was going to puke and I couldn't make it through a crowd.
But hey, that's the risk you run when you make a ridiculous large costume, so I can't really whine about it.

I'll post the last costume I made, Maya Amano. After this weekend I should have a new costume!

He's Vector's Past Life version (mad Prince) from Zexal II. I used a bit of creative license details wise (the trim on the skirt is still black diamonds on silver/grey in the anime but incredibly plain and oversized which doesn't translate to real life well).

JUST finished my Stone Ocean Jotaro cosplay last weekend in time for CBF over in San Francisco (I really just needed an excuse to not last minute this cosplay for Fanime). The thing is hot as hell and can blind anyone within a two-meter radius.

I cosplayed Gilder from a webcomic called Teahouse. I debuted it at Sakura Con last week. I stayed up to 3am working on it the night before. The comic creator had a booth at the con and she thoroughly enjoyed it. She even posted it on her twitter. I still need to finish the sword for Fanime. I was pressed for time.

All of these cosplays in this thread are amazing, I kind of feel reluctant to post my shit-tier Fire Emblem cosplay now...

Natsuki, from Summer Wars, at Anime Boston last month. Finally made my first kimono -- though it's almost completely covered by my (bought) hakama. Ah well. I've wanted to make a kimono for cosplay for years now, so I'm glad I got the chance. And the recognition-by-others to cosplayed-by-others ratio was perfect for me. Feels good for my first time not cosplaying as a matched pair with my con-buddy.

Things I'm proud of:
>fully-lined sleeves
>finding knee-high boots that fit my fat calves
>accuracy (solid colors are great)

Things I need to work on:
>remaking the ears (currently just Sharpie on blue felt, glued onto pink felt. Looks pretty fake)
>lining the rest of the kimono (ran out of time to line more than the sleeves)
>actually remaking the kimono body since I somehow fucked up the measurements the first time around

My shirt ended up being too loose, and my wings were too heavy. Already taking the wings part to re-make them better and lighter. Also need to make sure my hearts don't turn around, so I'm going to put some hot glue in the snaps so they won't turn, but I can still take them off for washing.
Not the best, but it had a lot of 'firsts' while making this cosplay, so it could be worse.

I considered it for a while but in the end decided not to because (a) it would involve wings, and I have no prop experience yet; (b) it would probably be really bulky and make me look fat, what with all those layers of fancy formal fabric; and (c) it involves long hair, and I hate long-haired wigs because I overheat way too easily. To be honest I didn't do much to the wig other than cutting the bangs and trimming here and there. It is pretty thick, though I think what makes it look fluffy is that it's slightly curled in at the ends like your standard bob. Maybe a little too curled in though, cause it started curling under my chin and it was a bit annoying lol.

This is just some liquid latex work. both of the arm pics were first attempts. The skin for the SH nurse was like my 4th time reworking some things. I keep pushing to improve how it appears. I want it dark and gross but not burnt to a crisp. I was the Lulu that's also been in the Selfpost threads. Figured i'd at least give something other than that. I don't get alot of time to sew, or as much as i'd like. I adore liquid latex though.

Wore Nudist Beach Nonon to Wondercon. This was my first skimpy cosplay, and it certainly was an experience having people try to 'take selfies' with me (aka try to angle photos down my harness shirt thing) Kind of a last minute thing after other plans were bust; made it out of cloth I already had lying around and stuff I scrounged from around the house... It came out better than I expected, though. I already ordered a new wig to replace this one, since I fucked up on cutting the bangs. Still have to make boot covers, since I ran out of time, and remake the gloves because they were literally falling apart by the end of the day. I might rewear her for AX depending on whether or not I feel up to making the large cannon/guns she's shown with for a few minutes in the show.

I dropped this exact pic in the Fire Emblem thread that's slowly dying. This is SSB4 Marth. The only thing that really bugs me is his iconic and missing red jewel cape pin. The backing broke on the way to shooting this and I was too afraid of it falling in the lake to risk wearing it.

You might want to try more different make-up though. Longer, sparser lashes and less thick eyeliner. Also maybe some blusher and light lip gloss/lip tint. Thanks for the feedback! I'm definitely going to change makeup (I regret not doing a makeup test before hand), especially going lighter on the liner, the next time I do Nonon.
Actually, I only pinned the belt I was wearing to the top of the tights, so it pretty much blocked it all. They were still visible from certain angles, though, especially when I was sitting down.
I'm pretty flat to begin with, so I pretty much just fit the harness tightly onto myself and it doesn't really slip all that much off my boobs. I had some fashion tape ordered, but it didn't come in time, so I just used eyelash glue to glue it onto my shoulders and top of my chest area. I had pasties on, though, so I didn't have to be overly worried about nip slips, besides maybe re-positioning the harness every ten minutes or so. Sorry, I'm not much help...

Got the coat in on Monday, as a gift from my girlfriend. I don't even wanna think about the price. But anyway~

The Eleventh Doctor, from Doctor Who. Shirt and waistcoat are from Savers, bowtie from Garment District, fob watch and chain from Things Remembered. The colors for the waistcoat and shirt are a bit off, and the chain should be gold, but it's pretty passable as a whole.

Frankly, the only thing that bothers me is how I'm not wearing it right now. It's my absolute favourite Doctor outfit (Barring Tom Baker's Season 18 red one), and it's going to be my main cosplay for years to come.

My latest cosplay was twilight Princess Zelda but I'm not really happy with her right now so I'll share my black lady one. I procrastinated this one real bad, I finished the wig in my hotel room at Katsucon. The dress is lined, for the scallop details in the neckline I used a scallop lace but you can't see it in this picture, the dress is lined and I put florist wire in my shawl. It can be bent to change shapes like Black Lady's does in the anime. I'd like to touch up the wig and add blue under the dress but otherwise really happy with how things came out.

I really like doing burn make up and have a few suggestions for you, feel free to disregard them.
Here are my suggestions:
- use more colors. Red and yellows, and even purple and blue
- for a crispy look mix corn meal with the latex make that the darkest points on the burn and helps it to add depth
- add flecking to make the burn look more natural and blend in with the non burnt skin
-invest in something other then just latex to help build up the burn either gelatin or 3rd degree helps to cover lots of area and works good for exposed bone or deep gashes
-add fake blood. it looks cool and its fun to play with.
I think it looks pretty good with just liquid latex, but if you change any one thing add more colors it will look a whole lot more real.

I didn't cosplay for almost a year due to some major problems, but my latest one (back at an event at called C2AGE at my country last year) was a Cleric from the movie Equiblirium. Come to think of that, it kinda suck because of last minute preparation, fucked up tailor who suppose to re-sized my coat to my size but does not done it right, and the prop which is suppose to be a cleric M9 (and I'll bought some toy revolver instead.)

Just finished up Mugen, though I have to do his swords and I forgot to put on the tattoos for the small shoot.

It's not animu, but I am really proud of this costume. I had the dress itself commissioned, but I hand painted all the details and made a few adjustments. (the fabric is too thick to really make it fit snuggly) I made the crown and cut and styled the wig myself. I need to touch it up from wear at the con, but I am really proud of this costume. I've never really sewn before, and this was the first costume I put blood, sweat, and tears into.

Finished this back for Katsu so it's not really "new" but due to school I haven't been able to make much else. I plan on remaking the pauldrons and bracers. Staff was fun to make though, I made it so I can screw off the ends and put some twist LED lights in there so it lights up. Can't wait to start working on Battle Bunny Riven for MomoCon.

I went as Kimmy Howell from no more heroes to sakuracon this year but I really wish I had ran into more NMH cosplayers because NOBODY knew who I was lol. Really happy with how the costume turned out though.

I made everything except the beam katana which was made by my REALLY talented friend who actually built it out of a real recorder!

Im only a 32D :c Sometimes when I need to, I also use one of those sticky bras. If you wear them low enough, they stay hidden but seriously pull your boobs together! The bras help make them look bigger all around, while the sticky one pulls everything in to make them look fuller.

I'm gonna be cosplaying as Eren at this year's Comic Con, picked up this jacket rather cheapish this week and it's pretty excellent. Debating on whether I should make the leather strap system myself or grab some online, the main problem is most listings recycle the same stock photos so I can never be sure what crap I might end up with.

Blade Regalia MKIII from KLK. I made this in a week and the clear coat was literally drying in my trunk on the way to the con (2 days no sleep towards the con). And putting it on there was virtually my first time ever putting it on and walking. So yeah, it was a super rushed job/speed build, but I wanted to see if and what I can do in a week.

It needs tons of refinements; there's supposed to be no gap at all in the armor except for my arms, but for some reason on con-day, they appeared, and thus you can see my cheesy nylon straps and temporary duct tape that I even had no time to replace with something more permanent like hot glue. They weren't there during my test fits. Maybe something went loose. Oh well. Also, my chest piece is slacking and always aiming my stars downwards, I don't have much flexibility in my legs, there's a huge gap in my lower back, etc. etc. Also, all the paint is just one coat. Again, I was using every second towards the con, lol. The paint job is now cracking and crusting in my garage.

Will fix up everything for AX.

About to get started on a new big cosplay project, so here's my lastest one: a Rifleman from Aika Online. Ignoring the shitty gun, I was so proud of this because for the first time I managed to make everything so it attached properly with snaps and buckles, so I didn't have to worry about bits falling off over the day. First time making wonderflex armour (so much sanding, shit) and working with leather as well.

My latest one was my first official cosplay. I've since changed out the wig for a better one, and possibly more accurate in color (not so green but a more aqua blue color).

I did Bulma Briefs in the bunny outfit from Dragon Ball. I nearly had to buy each piece separate, (the only things that came together were the cuffs, bow, tail, and ears). The bow originally was a small black one, and it hardly constituted as a bow to begin with, so I cut up some plain red felt into three pieces, and sewed them together. I have no prior sewing experience either, so that was new.

The inside of the ears came white, so I took a brand new Sharpie to the inside. I had gotten a lot of props on that since it blended nicely together.

I guess my only thing is the tail. It's currently safety pinned to the back of the leotard, and I feel like it's not big or fluffy enough. Any suggestions for that would be helpful. Also, tips to make my boobs look bigger would be nice too.
