What product is used to draw eyeliner like this? Liquid, gel or pencil? Also, does anyone have a tutorial on drawing makeup for closed eye characters like Hazama from BlazBlue? Thanks in advance.

>> No.7488351

If anyone also has any tips on how to hide thick male eyebrows to draw on blonde ones that would also be very helpful.

>> No.7488354

looks like liquid to me, but you could achieve a similar look with gel and a very thin brush.

also look up "eyebrow covering tutorial." usually you put school glue over your eyebrows, followed by concealer, and paint the eyebrows over that.

>> No.7488356

There's a whole youtube channel about it, actually. I don't really know how functional it is, though, I mean sometimes it seems kind of weird.

It's possibly they used the pot ones with the eyeliner brushes. Unless they are that skilled with a liquid eyeliner.

By school glue you mean the white one? I tried it with some Vaseline but they're very dark which is what worries me. Is a lighter shade of concealer advised?

Thanks a bunch! It didn't occur to me to use white eyeshadow first thought what worries me is that the eyebrows don't really follow the hairs but are like those diagonal anime eyebrows. I will try this though!

Actually use a washable school glue stick that's colored purple. You'll have to use layers of it to get your eyebrows completely flat before you conceal. I've used powder and concealer between glue layers too.

Got it.
Thanks for the help!

Not OP but would like to know about the closed eye makeup as well. The girl from the youtube channel doesn't have a tutorial on it

It takes practice. I say two weeks before you do your cosplay, practice using the glue stick and drawing your eyebrows on. It's actually really hard to get each side to be symmetrical.

So I picked up a new liquid eyeliner from Urban Decay at Sephora on Tuesday and OMG it is amazing. It says it's water proof but I heard it can smudge if you get sweaty enough. I drew a line on my hand and immediately tried to smudge it with my finger and it did not budge. Super thin lines and super black. Doesn't smear in the creases. It's called Ink For Eyes by Urban Decay. I think it's worth the 20 bucks, especially if you seal it after you apply.

Specifically a video of a cosplayer doing Hazama's makeup. Not a tutorial, but I feel like they do it really well.

This stuff is pretty amazing; I've tried some out at work around 9 in the morning, and if I forgot to shower it's still there the next day.

That looks great! I'm using Stila's Stay All Day right now.
Do you think those would work ok on double eyelids?

I'm always dubious with felt tip liner pens because they always seem to dry out and become useless after maybe 2 uses... I'd be interested to know how long it lasts.

>> No.7488576

>>7488480
Do you store them upside down? I think you have to, to keep the liquid in the tip. otherwise it dries out.

You can use fine like markers too for eyeliner.

That's what I use for cosplay atleast.

I had this type of eyeliner from a Japanese brand and it lasted a pretty long time... maybe 6 months to a year? and I used it almost every day.

I have L'Oreal's Super Liner and it's quite advisable too, I have eyelids who can get really oily and it holds out pretty well regardless.
Mine is almost running out though, but it lasts really long.

I use L'Oreal as well, but with an even thinner felt tip. It's the best eyeliner I've ever used. On the topic of storing them, I just leave mine laying flat, and it's on it's third month or so now. My Elf one ran out in like two weeks, and I had stored it the same way. Never trusted Elf after that.

Go to the NYX section of target and buy the marker eyeliner. You're welcome.

>> No.7497499

When it comes to eyeliner, it doesnt hurt to invest in all three main types of the product. Pencil, liquid, and gel. For liquid, I suggest the Lorac Pro eyeliner. It has the nicest felt tip and undeniably the longest wear compared to other brands. For gel, skip high end and settle with Maybelline's Eyestudio gel liner, as it lasts months before an inkling of dryness, and it applies so flawlessly. This one tends to stray moreso than the Lorac, but with some eyelid primer applied before hand, you should be fine.

Funny, both my elf and dolly wink lasted for a long while.
