I work in a very visible part of a large hospital, the same one I get treatment at, and when I pick up prescriptions on my days off I wear Lolita. I've had many people much higher ranking than me ask where I got my clothes because their teenage daughters would love them and they're so classy. Not that anon, but it's pretty much my daily wear:
>lolita skirt or JSK (either no print or a simpler one)
>petti with small poof
>jersey cutsew or plain turtleneck
>cute cardigan
>plain tights/OTKs with small motifs
>tea parties, oxfords or mary janes

Another happy story for the pile.

>be me, 24 and a sweet lolita
>live in tiny rural town famous for its ice cream and "Southern charm" whatever that means
>the only lolita in the entire town
>can wear whatever i want to work so i wear lolita when the weather's nice
>becoming well-known to the locals
>spreads knowledge and awareness of the fashion whenever possible
>local girl wants to be a lolita too
>I give her tips and show her where to shop, etc
>heckyea.jpg

I thought it was a pain at first, always clarifying that "noooo it's not a costume etc" but now I feel like telling people about the fashion is my mission. Maybe one day the "costume" questions and comments will stop completely.

My favorite reactions so far:
>"Your dress is absolutely fabulous."
>little boy in the 8-10 age range asks me to take selfie with him
>"Are you modeling nearby?"

Lolita, man. It's confidence-boosting armor.

>> No.7482132

>serious looking middle aged man stops me
>"why are you dressed like that?"
> I reply "they let me dress weird to work, so why not?"

I can't remember a negative experience so far, it seems to be a pretty positive thing even after 5+ years of wearing lolita. Bracing for the day something bad happens though...

I'm not even a lolita but I cringe so fucking much when I'm at the mall and see girls wearing lolita in public. It is never done right. They never have a petti and always are stretching the dress nearly to its limits. I was with my boyfriend there last weekend and saw a herd of overweight itas.

For what purpose? Have of these girls would look decent in street clothing that fits them. Why squeeze yourself into something that only a slender waif-like girl can pull off just to be random xDD?

The lady who runs the emporium I buy most of my trims, spray paint and such at has gotten to know me really well to the point where she'll give me twice as many buttons or throw an extra metre of bias tape on for free. She's really curious about what I do, she knows I make costumes and she has told me she really wants to see them. It's really nice and she laughs when I buy sequined trims because I've told her to tell me off when I buy them because I shouldn't be using them.

Stark contrast from one of the local fabric stores run by an old lady who asked me 3 times if I knew what I was doing and if I really wanted sports uniform fabric when I went in to grab fabric from an Inazuma Eleven cosplay. Generally when someone is buying sports knit and responds to your questions with "Yes, I'm making a soccer uniform" and "I'd hope I know what I'm doing, I've been making costumes for 6 years now", you don't put off your customers by being a cunt and repeating the question.

Two Innocent World-ish girls when I went to San Fransisco State, (one of my friends was like, "I keep seeing girls dressed like dolls" and seemed kind of in awe.) One girl in toned down gothic on the bus, and one girl in Moite on halloween. I really wanted to tell the last girl how much I liked her outfit, but I didn't really have a chance. She had this look on her face that I'm sure get when I'm wearing something weird, like I'm just going to be confident and hold my head up and not give a fuck and put on a bitch face. I actually made a mock up to combat clothes layer issues. There is a small slit that leads to the handle of the fire arm. The harsness would lay just below the outtermost layer and the channel would funnel your had straight to it. The second was a split along the ribs to a shoulder holster. This required the petticoat to be tacked into place or a set of clips to keep the channel clear and connected. Velcro attached at the very top and bottom of the slit kept things together

engaging in a conflict introduces a variable because you have no guarantee that you'll come out unscathed. drawing your weapon introduces a variable because you have no guarantee that you won't have it confiscated by the assailant. carrying a concealed weapon introduces a variable because you have no guarantee that the, given the initiative, the assailant won't discover the weapon and utilize it himself.

This just happened today. I'm still a little star-struck.

> Be dressed in really toned down classic lolita, just skirt, blouse and waist belt with cardigan for cold

>Just about to reach for door to lunch place

Oh man I have a story about that.

> Be in Lolita with friend
> I'm gothic she's sweet
>Almost finished for the day headed back to the car in parking garage when a group of snide teens yell out "Halloween was last month!"
> Friend turns without skipping a beat and yells back "Then why do you still have on those ugly masks?"
>Never been more proud in my life.

I tried to answer this earlier but phone got me flagged as spam.
Personally I would skip the under-clothes holster completely and go for a purse holster. They do make conceal-carrry specific handbags with built in easy to reach holsters, though they aren't very loliable (usually look like designer leather). You can get holsters that fit into your own bag though, which I think would be far easier and more practical than trying to reach through layers of fluff and fabric or trying to yank your blouse up in a situation. You can pretty easily switch it between bags too.
Granted I also prefer to carry a larger handgun than is recommended for conceal carry. I'm a better shot with a .9 than a .22 and if I'm in a situation where its necessary to shoot, it is shoot to kill.

Funniest shit I saw all day, took a picture, but it turned out really dark and grainy. I should have gotten closer to take a better picture, but I was too busy laughing.

Alternatively:
> At train station with in-laws, 100% normal clothes
> See two weeby-looking girls decked out in fishnet and rainbows
> One has a Pikachu hoodie, the other has a rainbow furry tail
> Confused, since there's no event nearby, but whatever, they weren't bothering anyone
> Train is super late, standing on platform forever, weebs are nearby but mostly quiet
> Suddenly one of the weebs has her phone out and is taking a picture of me
> She's trying to be sneaky, but failing miserably even if I wasnt able to smell shittalking and photo "sneaking" a mile away
> Be a coward and try subtly to hide behind in-laws because I don't want to cause a scene in front of them

>go to pandora to buy my stepmom a bracelet
