Right? Like the big white box... There must at least be 5 main pieces in there. If she showed everything in the haul clearly we could at least guesstimate but the only piece I can pinpoint is the Labyrinth print and she pointed out Wrapping Ribbon.

I agree with that anon. She bought the stuff, said she doesn't know when she is unhappy with her stuff and when she's buying more, and further down feels bad about her other dress that she sold. Seems she's one of those people who both buys often and sells often -- which is fine but I wouldn't feel very fulfilled doing that. Still, I'm jelly of her disposable income!

I'm also curious. I mean, I see people here post taobao hauls that are pretty impressive, but I figure all packed together it actually isn't that much space-wise, and price-wise probably isn't exorbitant either. But even if it was only cheap clothing that many boxes of clothing would cost quite a bit, and it's not, so either she's a collector with a high disposable income, or someone who just goes on sprees once or twice a year. Hard to tell.

Out of curiosity, what are all of your shopping habits? I'm trying to get a feel for what other people's shopping habits are like. How many pieces of clothing do you buy in a year (either of lolita or of just general clothing)? I hear the average for an American woman is 64 new pieces every year, which surprised me, but I suppose I may buy that much as well without realizing it.

>> No.7481092

>>7481085
I buy in an on/off pattern, a lot at once then little to nothing for a while. My wardrobe would likely be better and more consistent if I settled down, organized things, made a prioritized wish list and kept watch for my things on it, allowing for new release madness occasionally.
Sometimes I just see a lot of things I like at once and buy them up though so normal monthly budgeting doesn't usually work well for me. For the past 3 years I've set a $1500-$2000/year budget for Lolita though and that works, I've stayed under. Not counting makeup, regular jewelry or vintage things.

>> No.7481095

>>7481085
From the impression I got from her wardrobe posts and comments in the past, she is a collector. I wish she would have showed detailed shots of the items she bought because she has wonderful taste.
And I wish the package picture was with her wearing lolita because that would have made it so much better. Better yet a video of her opening all this. I want to live vicariously through her.

>> No.7481099

Yes, see, better photo, unblocking, reviews, that would be worthwhile. Just the box stack than clothes stack = boring. Does she have a YouTube channel?
A shame too because I like big haul unboxings. They don't make me jelly so much as they help justify when I overspend, haha! It's rarely this much at once for me though.

So I need a blouse to go under a JSK. The top of the JSK is mainly shirring so i can fit my fat boobs in there.

But I'm not exactly sure on what blouse to go for. Since I have to get one custom ordered to be flattering, I was thinking about going for anna house.

I love the lavender top because I think it would look best under a JSK, but I think the buttoned up peter pan collar will create much more of a double chin than I really want. Edmonton's alright.
It's not a shining jewel and they're a bit harsh with their "no drama" policies. (Leading to no criticism sometimes.)
They coddle the newbies way too much because of the above.

Meetups vary between one and three a month. Several girls chill outside meetups and it's actually quite easy to get into that "circle" if you're sociable and respectful.
Everybody's kind of bored because Alberta is boring; People have literally posted up "hey I'm going to West Ed" and they usually get a few folks last minute.

The only real issues we had actually left the community and things have been lax ever since.

So long as you can put up with the occasional ita and the moderation on the facebook page you're set to go.

We're having a small meet-up on Saturday.
I can poke our mod to accept the facebook group asap request if you want to come.

Peter Pan collars don't have a lot of effect, what you should be wary about are neck ruffles. Ruffles (eg on high-necked collars) and pussy bows especially have a tendency to make necks dissappear, so if you have a round face and a chubby body you'll look even fatter without a neck.

I don't think the black blouse will sit properly under jsks, so you're basically left with the lavender blouse.

You might also want to contact Qutieland and/or clobbao. Some taobao shops offer custom sizing, and they will both be able to tell you which ones can cater to your measurements, so you aren't just limited to Anna house or F+F.

get a blouse from The Floral Notebook, the Princess of the Rose blouse design is perfect for you. It's entirely custom sized so you can specify the length of the sleeves. She also offers custom colors, but I'd say be careful about specifying the exact color because I asked for a light pink and it was a little peachy (close to the btssb items in pink I own though) and my friends ordered lavender blouses and they were a little darker and less pastel. So I'd say just be specific. You can also get it made in cotton instead of chiffon.

They have have always had their own style that's one step to the left of other classic and gothic brands, but they're still doing a style of lolita. I was wondering if you guys could help with some inspo/ ideas.
For uni I had to choose a subject to research, write an essay and compile a illustrative journal with a final piece.
I decided on 3d printing, and would really love to design a headpiece to suit lolita.
At first I was thinking of big ship hairpiece like Marie Antoinette, but I'll probably have to end up doing the 3d modeling mostly by myself, because as a student I can't afford $75+ an hour for someone else to do the whole thing for me.
Pic related- something I drew a few years ago, I know it's not great, but I thought it might be cute for a gothic coord, perhaps if I added wings/ made it a dragon rather than a snake.
Any suggestions appreciated!

That for lolita? No. I could see it working maybe with some straight up gothic, like the stuff from alice auaa's runway shows, but not for lolita. It's much too hard and structural, sort of scifi maybe, there's no softer cute or elegant/feminine aspect to it that I think is important to make something suitable to lolita.

That and would that sort of design work for 3D printing? I was under the impression 3D printing worked better for single solid piece smaller objects.

tl;dr cool design, but not for lolita.

Get their omnipotent petti, order it a little longer than usual (so if your usual petti is ~44 cm, get it around 55-60 cm or so), and it works great. Well that response wasn't what I was expecting and I'm glad I've helped you get some data on price points. I feel the print in navy and possibly black are only going to stay steady (or creepy up slowly) in price so I'd snatch it up if you see it in the low 300 range. I doubt it'll climb much higher (unless it's a set of kc and otks) than high 300 for a main piece but you never know so buy it if you see it in that price range.

I need some advice, hopefully from multiple people.

I have two really cute, but plain salopettes. I want to spice them up by adding some cute buttons. (which buttons, I'm not sure yet, it depends on what I can find. But I like the idea of regular buttons sewn on as well as those cute detailed buttons in the shape of bows, bears, cats, hearts, etc.)

Question is, is this a good decision at all?

Unfortunately there are no known taobao brands for aristocrat. There is some boy-style but nothing like Atelier Boz or Moitie men's wear.

You may have to go with Fan plus friend and have the pieces custom made or buy the Japanese brands and have them altered to fit properly.

With Aristo, the fit and tailoring is what makes or breaks a good outfit.
There's not much information out there so the best thing I've found is to
look at the coords Atelier Boz does and mimic them until

So last night I finally dyed a cardigan I've had for.. 3 years? A simple heart knit pattern I got from F21 in ivory (which looks fug on me) so it was always my plan to dye it and I just never got around to it.
Finally I got fed up with the stupid cardigan and just started the dye up and went for it. As soon as it went in, I realized the color was WAY too saturated so I stirred it around quickly before pulling it out (using the hot water method with RIT dye)
Anyway, it's better than I thought, but the color is too light in some places. I'm trying to decide what to do. Right now, it doesn't match my wardrobe super well anyway, because the pink is too saturated. I think I'd still wear it sometimes, if I could fix the blotches. But if I try dying it again, I risk even more blotches and a less versatile color
The other option is to buy higher quality dye and dye it red. I don't really need a red cardigan, but it could be cute. I think I could still do this if I try redying it first and that fails so I think I'm going to do that.
Any input is really appreciated.

Hell, I'm disappointed too. Don't get me wrong. I've avoided buying anything from AP for a long time because 1) I hate 10%+ shopping service fees and having to trust they'll actually do the job, especially now that reservations are more limited than ever 2) I hate the price increase on the SF shop (I understand their reasons) and 3) I hate their limited stock on their old international shop and their over inflated shipping fees. Their reservation system has always felt unfair, and the leftover scraps for the international/SF stores weren't worth fighting over. At least I can do the shopping myself now without having to beg for ss slots, and I can actually participate in reservations.

The language issue bothered me at first because it really shouldn't be hard for them to include at least a few things in English like every other brand. But seriously, the colors are listed in the same order as the example pictures and those have the matching word under them. It really doesn't take that long, not enough to give a significant advantage to anyone.

Having to use a forwarding service is stupid. other brands have had international shipping figured out for a long time. AP really needs to pull out the stick from their asses over whatever issue that's preventing them from it.

But overall I'm happy to be able to participate in things like special sets and lucky packs and have the same chance at them as anyone else.
