Fimo and Milliput? The shape is very simple, the only challenge is getting it smooth and some careful sanding will sort that out. Since they're just cones, you can easily get a uniform size if you make an armature from sheet styrene or something.

What I plan to do is take a basket ball, wrap it in Seran wrap and then apply 3 layers of plaster gauze to half of the ball, draw out the pattern and cut it. Then use cardboard or thick craft foam for the little flaps on the sides. Shouldn't be too hard. Then just some elastic on the inside to slide up onto my shoulder. I'm also contemplating a single hook and eye at the top of the shoulder so that it attaches to the armhole of the vest and lets me lift my arm up and down more freely without chaffing...

Hair chalk, eyeliner pencils or even paint all work. If you have dark eyebrows, just cover them up completely with the glue method or whatever and draw over them. If you're worried about fading, just keep checking and re-applying colour although if you use paint you won't have that problem.

Use thin craft foam like 3mm thick and glue it to the fabric with a thin layer of contact cement. Make sure the glue is evenly spread and there are no wrinkles otherwise it'll look terrible. It's what I used for Satsuki's Junketsu transformation shirt armor.

How would I make Sanageyama's sealed eyes? With a see-through and removable blindfold.

I can make a pattern around my eyes to show when the blindfold is on, but then I have to wear a blindfold all day or it looks weird.

I can make a full pattern across my eyes with the blindfold across my forehead, but then open eyes with a "seal" across makes no sense.

Just blindfold - bound across forehead or somewhere when not wearing, across and -hopefully- see-through when wearing it, but then I'm missing the makeup and he doesn't wear the cover without the seal across his eyes.

What i did was I got one of those plastic mardi gras masks from Jo Anns and I covered it in green bias tape. for the "eyes" i covered the holes with thin white fabric that i can see out of. Usually the masks come with elastic but i replaced it with glasses arms so I can take them off easier.

I hear people here recommend using craft foam to make the armor pieces for Gamagoori's outfit such as the gauntlet and boots and spikes, but whenever I go to places like Joann and Michaels they look at me like I'm crazy when I ask for "craft foam." All they seem to have are those sheets of very thin foam in the kids section and then various sorts of pillow/bed foam stuffings and the styrofoam shit.

What exactly are people talking about when they say craft foam and where do they tend to acquire it?

You guys effectively convinced me to cosplay Satsuki... up until the last episode. I'm obsessed with Final Form Ryuuko and I think I might want to do that instead.
I have no idea how to do the light panel things though. Any ideas for materials? I'm more concerned with the panels' material itself - I'll probably use wire to connect them but edge them a bit closer to each other so the wire isn't apparent. Might experiment with some clear plastic though.

That's what they mean, those kids section foam sheets. Joanns has slightly thicker sheets sometimes too. I know it looks sketchy as fuck but if you work with it correctly it can be pretty good. You have to look up how to seal it and paint it, a lot of really nice armors are made with it especially before Worbla.

Love seeing these KLK pics. It was a much rarer cosplay at AB14 than I thought. I myself went in Satsuki's original outfit (from 1 and 2), which I didn't see anyone else in but it's my favorite of hers (I can post a pic if anyone's curious but I made it p quickly).

OK for the anon here's the Satsuki pants cosplay... I don't really have a good picture of it yet, hence mirror photo. You can't really see the top in this picture but I messed up the collar part anyway. (I made this realllly fast; AB14 was kinda a last minute decision.)
