I always forget how old they are, but they were designed by the newer designers. I don't mind Divine Cross but after having owned the same one she's selling, I have to say that the quality is atrocious for the price.

Moitie's lace that they use on their headdresses (at least on the older ones) is amazing and extremely intricate/detailed. Baby often makes things for $80 nowdays that aren't as nice. And Moitie dresses typically retail for $400+. Not that they're really worth it anymore in my opinion.

Empire cut OPs are some of the most plus-size friendly dresses there are, they're great for bigger busts. This one looks like it has some give to it too. I'm not sure how tall you are but the cut/length of it would look fine unless you're almost 6". Underskirts help too!

Depends on your shape. They work great if you don't have a defined waist (apple shapes particularly). If you're more hourglass or pear, it'll make you look like a tent. I was terrified of them, but found them to be the most flattering on me.

That's probably due to your actual bust size not your body shape since empire waists are going to hit at the same spot on any body shape. And each shape is only based on the difference in measurements and not a default size. And unless you have the biggest hips I've ever seen (Excluding obesity) the petticoat is going to hide the rest of your body shape after the underbust.

So, I think it is almost always due to cup size. The bigger the difference between full bust and underbust, the more misshapen the dress with look.

Shoulders also factor into the fit. Broad shoulders and large busts tend to create a tent effect. Slimmer shoulders, even on a wider framed body drape the empire cut slimmer.

That's odd. I'm a 34DD with fairly broad shoulders (enough to create issues with some brand blouses and make straps sit funny on some jsks) and empire waists tend to visually minimize the bust area on me. Whereas lower waisted designs as well as skirt and blouse combos make me look really huge due to having side a wide frame and being busty. But that's probably because my arms and legs are fairly thin looking and my extra chub is in my gut/bust. So the tent-like effect hides that and makes me look slimmer than I actually am. I bought Sugar Hearts off a friend who had similar measurements and it looked entirely different on her. It's just strange how that shit works out. Bodies, man.

It depends a lot on the shape and material of the dress, too. I'm 30DD and curvy, and some empire waists make me look pregnant, some don't. I avoid stiffer fabrics with a lot of gathering right under the bust because that's prime preggo look. Flowier or more flared dresses don't have that effect.
