Hahahahahhahahha. Lots and lots of luck. Constantly refresh the site and stat up all night because the international site may not even hold the traffic/decide to release when they feel like it. AP popular releases are a bloodbath. Getting releases on AP SF is slightly better. I'm almost certain that all the good SS are taken by now.

The first time I wanted to get in on a new release was for Melty Cream Donut (very similar cuts to Sweetie Violet, actually). I missed it when it went up on international but I was able to get it from AP USA. It wasn't that hard to order from the international site or the AP USA site, so I probably won't be using an SS.

You know, I had the biggest excitement when I saw this scroll by on my dash, I legit thought this was Meta a la Twinkle Journey or Masquerade Lady style. I was getting all hyped up to stalk Meta's site, and then realised it was Angelic Pretty. I would have preferred Meta, I managed to get most of my desired releases by emailing them. so what you'll look for is the background changing on the JP site to the print you are waiting on. Once that happens (usually near the beginning or middle of a week) you can be pretty sure (it's still not 100%, but very close) that it will be released that week's Saturday in Japan both in store and on the JP/Int site. If you are nervous about missing out on the release, you should look for an SS, yes.

AP Usa is a crap shoot because you won't know how long before they release the same print (could be the following week, could be three weeks from the actual release) and they usually only get 1-2 of every colorway. If they even do get all the colorways. And their checkout system is not paypal, but credit/debit card, which means if you're not used to it, you're going to get smoked by the girls who either have the screens macroed to auto fill out information, or are just really fast and filling out everything.

In short, for the violet one, get an SS. It's popular, but it's not a huge release. So even though it's not as popular as CDC or Melody toys, it's going to have a smaller amount of stock i believe, so it all ends up the same: things selling out on the websites within 20-30 seconds.

Probably not relevant for the release of Sweetie Violet, but if you ever desperately want a print the best thing you can do to assure you get it is contact an SS as soon as you see the scans of it otherwise getting a reliable SS can be incredibly difficult. I'm not sure where this information about their being less stock comes from as I've seen it mentioned a few times (though mostly girls were just hoping that there was less stock of Melody Toys because they all hated it but it still sold out) but I think Sweetie Violet will be popular and if it isn't it will do as a number of floral chiffon prints have done- which is if they hang around for a little while, you might find them expensive to find second hand (personally hoping this is not the case since I'm hoping to pick it up eventually, I can't right now or I definitely would!).

sorry, the stock guess on my part is because it's an all over print without only a couple of magazine shots, instead of a couple weeks of build up like other prints which have more stock. AP's releases kind of go in different stages. Each year they will do a couple of their archetypical releases: carousel, circus, chocolate, velvet with gold print. These types of releases are (normally) hyped in magazines and fashion shows for weeks ahead of the actual release dates. You'll see shots from tree parties, multiple sneak peeks, several kera spreads. These releases are always either more stock or extremely popular. The ones that you only know about for a week before release are less stock (despite popularity, look at Gloria for this). So when you see scans of any of those kinds of prints you can always expect either a huge release or an extremely popular release. Hope that helps.

Has it been confirmed the OP set with bonnet was in in-store release only? I've only read about it being more like an assumption because of the high price, similar to the 10th anniversary tea party reserve sets of RRL and Imai Kira collar. I haven't seen anywhere saying it won't be a normal release.

Yeah, how many releases do they usually have an OP, Bonnet, and choker sold together as a set? I'm not saying it won't be online, but based on previous 'sets' sold like that, it might be an in store only release.

Have they ever done a first release as an open order like they did for the re-release of DDC, where it was open preorder for a certain time period? Or just re-releases. I want the skirt but I haven't ever used a SS and I don't think I can scoop one fast enough online. I've never tried for a release that sells out super-fast. I'd like to avoid scalper prices though, DDC is still above retail, even with the re-release, sheesh.

I managed to get a spot a couple weeks ago for my preferred colorway for the JSk and accessories, but I won't know if it was a good move until release, since I won't be able to afford buying it off the international and paying my SS. In the end I probably should have tried my luck on the site, but eh, we will see I guess.

Depends on how each SS works. Some operate that as soon as they see a scan in a magazine they will accept orders for that release. So the one I use does that, so as soon as the kera issue with CDC was released, she took orders as an SS. This is a bit of a toss up for some releases since you might not know all the colorways or details of each cut. But you can usually guess pretty well if you're used to AP releases and the colorways they usually use

the GLB is released a month and a half or maybe 2 in fromt of the month when the dresses are actually released. So you only know about whats foretold by the GLB :o

How quick do Kera scans go up? I see the magazine is released on the 15th of each month for the issue date 2 months ahead.

You have to find a person who will scan them the day they are released. You'll always find scans on tumblr the day of the kera issue, but then you need to know an SS who will take the order based just off the scan. Maybe Tokyo Pirates does it? I know chibi_tenshi does, but she books up on releases in like, 5 mins if that, if it's going to be popular
