Just wondering, what do you guys do to protect your body line shoes from scuffing? Do any of you guys ever put like a clear or a matching color coat of shoe polish or something like that?

>> No.7418542

>>7418533
Lightly brush them with oil before wearing them. If I scuff, it's my big toe bumping against the inside heel of the other shoe as I walk - the oil is unnoticeable and makes it just slip right past without rubbing off the surface onto the other shoe. I have heard people taking off scuffs with rubbing alcohol, and gasoline has worked for me with the shiny patent ones.

I use a bit of acetone nail polish remover and use it on the tougher scuffs on some of my bodyline shoes. If it doesn't come off with rubbing alcohol, I try the stronger stuff. But one quick wipe or dab with a qtip or cotton ball is all you need. Leave it on too long and it'll damage it.

I was thinking of getting either L479 or L310
But I'm really unsure about the sizing?
I have a really small bust (32A)
The bust on the M of 310 is especially big.
Do you guys think that will matter.

For reference my waist is 61cm and my hips are 79cm

Also thoughts on the dresses?
I was also looking at the one with clocks but I'm unsure.

So, I've never bought from Bodyline before, but because of the no-shipping thing I might dive in for some shoes.

A couple questions though.

I've heard that their shoe sizing is funky, but I don't remember in which direction. My feet are around 25.5cm/U.S. size 8; should I size up or down?

Second, a lot of their shoes, such as pic related, list off-white instead of white, but the stock photos look pretty white. Does anyone have experience buying shoes in off-white? Are they more ivory or more pure white like in the stock photos?

Shopping for some maid stuff for fun. Does anyone know if these are true to size?

http://www.bodyline.co.jp/bodyline/showProduct2.asp?id=6912&pageNumber=1&pageStop=stop_5&noSubType=N

I'm skeptical because the smallest size they have has an 80cm waist, and usually they have stuff smaller and bigger than that (for reference, I'm a 72cm waist). The measurements for that popular seifuku they sell are completely wrong, so I was wondering if maybe that's the case here too.

I appreciate any opinions, thanks!

Once you get your number, use http://www.17track.net/index_en.shtml

If you click "details" it'll give you actual information on where in the country your package is (specific cities and whatnot) instead of just "origin post is preparing shipment" or whatever generic shit they usually throw on it. It'll be in the country of origin's language, but just use chrome or translate it so you can read it.

Mine is currently on its way to New York, USJFKF is the JFK airport.

The things I've bought there have mostly all been plain black separates barring one print skirt so they don't shout 'oh hey look, Bodyline' quite as much as the printed pastels do.

They've been out of the 2 pairs of shoes I wanted most for a while though so that was a bust. Maybe they will do a big restock after the sale since it seems they did quite a good clear-out even though for most of us it was more about the free shipping as an excuse to buy more, haha!

I measure 25cm in foot length and I order my BL tea parties and other BL shoes 25.5 but my RHS 26 and they all fit without toe bumping the end when I walk. Both the leg strap and ankle spike RHS are quite a bit narrower than my other BL shoes but I have a narrower foot and my Tea Parties gap a bit, like most western one-width shoes do on me.

I got the RHS with ankle spikes in 25.5 first and they are short. But ymmv.

Long story short, I suddenly have a pile of cash and none of the things I intended to spend it on are available any more. I also needed some wardrobe basics, and Bodyline has this sale on. Do I just say "fuck it" and order a load of shoes, wigs and plain JSKs off Bodyline? Or do I save the money until the next brand piece I really want? Only buy things you want. If you want to buy some Bodyline shoes do it, but don't feel like you have to use all of your money at once on things you're not even sure you're going to enjoy. I'd save at least some of the money for future purchases that you're really excited about.
Also please go for blouses over wigs as 'wardrobe basics'.

>> No.7442227

>>7442078
Oh no, I already have blouses, I didn't mean to give the impression that I didn't. I have a fairly sizeable offbrand wardrobe but it's a lot of stuff like original prints from Taobao brands that can't really be dressed down at all, so I was hoping to pick up some plainer pieces from Bodyline so I'll be able to wear lolita more often. I don't have many wigs or a lot of legwear so it'd probably be sensible to buy some. Although I'm not technically lacking in shoes (the three pairs I have are all properly lolita and match pretty much everything I own), I still really like a lot of the shoes on the Bodyline site and I'd like to have a shoe collection that I can colour-match to my dresses in future instead of just having black, brown and cream pairs.

Thanks for the advice, I might set myself a "Bodyline budget" and then still keep at least half of the money I got aside in case anything else comes up on the secondhand market (I've seen different colourways/versions of Welcome to the Sweets Hexenhaus at least three times in the past couple weeks so hopefully I'll see some of the other dresses I wanted pop up again). It's just a pity about the reserved stuff.

>>7442015
I had some money set aside for potentially good spring brand releases but I ended up not liking what was offered so I did the Bodyline basics thing, plain OP, some non-print JSKs, shoes, etc with some of the money. It will let me wear Lolita much more often with wash and wear pieces. I only spent about 1/2 what I'd set aside though. I'm saving the rest for brand stuff.

But if you don't wear Lolita often, you might want to concentrate on better brand pieces for cons and meets. I rarely wear Bodyline to meets, I wear my brand.

Did anyone else receive tracking information for EMS instead of airmail recently? I bought some stuff on the last day of the sale (and used airmail) but I got an e-mail with a code and it says for EMS. When I click the link for japan post it says my item can't be found.

>> No.7442291

>>7442228
Part of the reason I only wear it to cons and meets is because I don't wanna wear delicate things around the house (solved by Bodyline because it's wash-and-wear) and can't wear printed things because of work and college dresscodes. It'd be nice to wear it more often. Ideally, I'd buy some more subtle Innocent World dresses secondhand, thus fulfilling both the brand and dresscode aspects, but nothing I can see at the moment really jumps out at me.

Then again, the girls in my comm might think IW is too boring to wear to a meet, even if it is brand...I'm struggling to remember the last time I saw someone in a non-print dress at a meetup. Either way, I suppose just spending a third to a half of the money on Bodyline is the way to go, and then keeping stalking the secondhand market.

Hmm. To me, the lace looks nice but I don't like the stripy ruffle at all. Hopefully if you had at it with a seam ripper, the fact that the material of the fabric is spotty not plain would distract the eye from any small marks left.

I'd chance it if I hated the lace. If it showed you could always replace it with prettier, smaller and less obnoxious trim to cover the needle holes. Just be sure to remove what you want to take off before you wash or wear it. Taking trim off of a new dress is often less noticeable than one that's been washed.

Most of the girls in my comm wear prints too but our meets are very infrequent so I don't wear my brand nearly as much. I have a few nice brand prints but all my Bodyline pieces save one are the solids. I think those are really worthwhile as basics and kind of overlooked.

Aww, such nostalgia. The black one was my first lolita dress. It didn't really work with my style, but it is pretty! The pattern is very vibrant and the fabric is quite thick and soft, for bodyline. I wore it with a pink blouse, but I think it would look better with a black one.
As far as fit goes, my measurements are B: 84 cm and W: 66 cm and it fit me like a glove in size M. make of that what you will I guess
