She doesn't even look that pale. A lot of yellow and pink swirling around those cheeks. She isn't it's-necessary-to-mix-pure-white-foundation-with-my-makeup pale.

I'm biased, however, because I never understood the "She's so pale, she looks sick. So sallow. Gross." mindset. Lily white skin is elegant and ethereal in my eyes. I think angels much sooner than corpse. I'll think she's sick if she has deep purple around her eyes and she's so thin that even her face looks gaunt, but that has nothing to do with skin color.
Tanning looks unnatural to me. It's usually pretty apparent when someone is sitting in a sunbed or using spray versus their natural skin color.

Maybe since I live in a rainy area, it's more understandable if one is pale.

I'm planning on cosplaying Gamagoori at Anime Expo.

I'm around 5'10-5'11-ish, might be 6'0 if I check again. I've got dark skin, which is noticeably dark, but not like coal dark, a relatively bulky frame (although I'm not necessarily a block of muscle, I'm definitely not pure lard), and a strong jawline. Beyond obvious things like the cosplay itself and detail work, what are some tips that most other Gamagoori's fail to listen to? I've seen eyebrows here as one note.

Buy a military belt, becuase it is unreasonable to think that they don't have belts on, they do, it would be silly to not do so.
Anyway buy a military belt then purchase MOLLE cmmunition pouches, they are virtually exactly the thing that are on those nudist beach belts, grab as many as will suitably fit around your waist, people won't know the number so long as they are all the same the look will eb satisfied.
Then attach a bottle to the back, if you want to, and add whatever appendage to the cortch to make it work
Voila your nudist beach military belt is done.

Her belt is kinda busy looking in order to cover Nonon's no-no area.

That's actually a good idea to get a police belt from amazon or ebay. If I had the balls and budget I'd do that.

Get boots with the proper heel as a base, and make a cover (or maybe even use a sock and take the bottom off of it). Her heel definitely shows on the bottom, so don't do the type of cover that covers up the soles if you want it to be accurate. I personally wouldn't go for thigh highs unless they don't have a zipper. I guess I have seen some stretchy ones, I am not sure how common those are though.

I'd argue Nudist Beach Nonon as a pretty damn big spoiler, but I doubt anyone will get out alive without seeing her butt.

I think the main problem is that you don't look comfortable in hautiness. You've got Satsuki's general pose, but your body language reads you as a sweet girl, maybe modest and timid.

You're long, oval, or heart. Definitely not round or square. See how your face tapers down from your temples to your narrow chin? Round faces go nearly straight down or sometimes even out from the temples, and curve out to a little bit above jaw, inline with the temples, THEN curving into the chin. You just go straight to chin from temples.
Square and round faces are fairly equal in length and width and diagonal. The chin is shorter on the jaw, pretty much inline with the jaw. The jaw/chin is nearly parallel with the floor.
You have a much higher length than width. Where are people getting round?

Oh wow, I didn't realize it looked quite so obtrusive. The seam is actually in line with the shoulder seam of the top, even a bit further back than in pic. It adds a slope/dip in my shoulder area so that it sits a bit more snugly. I already tried making it one piece, and it draped over my shoulders like a stiff cape and was not kawaii at all.

How much work did you do on your eyebrows? It's a little hard to see them through the bangs (nbd, I'm assuming you don't have a dedicated wig for this cosplay yet). But perhaps you could thicken the inner brows a bit and/or bring them down to make you look angrier. Nice test shot though.
