So, /cgl/, how do you get your money to pay for all the cosplay/lolita stuff?

Post your stories about that temporal job you got to pay that dress. Give each other ideas and advice to keep up with everything.

I remember the last time we had this thread, it was interesting enough. Someone posted a link to a guide to get into the business of writing short stories for kindles, does anyone still have it? I lost my job recently and I don't want to sell my panties yet (I admit some anons made that option sound very tempting last time though).

I have a part time job where I'm paid about 12$ an hour but some douches has been taking all the shifts these few weeks. I also get some money from the state and stuff but I was honestly thinking of starting on wig commissions or something when I'm good enough at styling wigs.
So far I'll stick to washing dishes

I work part-time at a 50's style diner making milkshakes, as well as studying full-time. All my lolita purchases come out of my earnings, because I'd feel strange about using my student loan for something so extravagant and that I can get along without.

I saved up all my rent money before moving out, so my expenses are low and if I save up then I have enough to make a brand purchase every two or three months as well as taobao shopping and looking out for second-hand items. It's working for me so far, I think.

I participate in random studies around my uni - I can get 10-30 per session depending on the length and type. A lot of it is from the business school kids who need survey participants for whatever business proposal they're working on.
Otherwise I just dip into the money my parents give me or sell old pieces when I get sick of them.

Right now I work at a coffee shop about 15 min from my house.
I make barely minimum wage, either work extremely early (4am) or to into ungodly hours at night (11pm) with no inbetween. The job is stressful, physically demanding, the customers are grating and rude, and my coworkers are constantly calling me on my few days off begging me to take their shifts because they're "sick" or have "a family emergency." But if I dare call in sick myself, I'll get a sigh, a grumble, and a passive aggressive comment from my manager before being hung up on.
Shit sucks but it buys me burando. So I guess it'll do for now.

Yeah, once they know you'll always be there, they shit all over you.

I work at Arby's, and I always take other's shifts, but I just got bitched the fuck out for calling off (I found someone to cover my shift, she agreed to take it the night before, and then didn't fucking show up) because I had the stomach flu.

God fucking forbid I need a day off when I'm taking 3-10 extra hours almost every week.

Plus the managers start being cunts all the time and not giving me hours in the first place because they figure I'll just take someone else's anyway.

I also work with my ex best friend, which makes things interesting. She tried to give me shit in a group facebook chat for calling off work, seeming proud that she had gone in to work when SHE was throwing up, and telling me that THIS is why I don't get hours, despite the fact that I've only called in sick 3 times in the 2 years that I've worked there.

I just called her a stupid cunt, because it's not only stupid and dangerous to go in to work sick like that (you could spread it to both staff AND customers, as she's often making the food) but it's also illegal, because it's knowingly endangering the health of others.

I fucking hate my job.

Plus all the people I work with are so fucking fake. Everyone talks shit on everyone, and not even the general manager seems capable of acting professionally unless the big bossman is around.

I went to Carnegie Mellon and for a pretty good deal for financial aid, but I still have about $80k to pay back, about a quarter of which my parents will shoulder for me. I'm currently making good money as a systems analyst while living at home, but I'm focusing on paying CMU, so all my money for loli stuff comes from tutoring computer science kids (none of whom seem to be able to look up tutorials on youtube) via the web. Mmm, plasma. Few things you should know before you go into a donation center.

1) When they ask if you've had any tattoos or piercings in the past year tell them no- you got them when you were a toddler.
2) Tell them you're a virgin. It makes the process go by faster.
3) Try to find a CSL plasma center since they pay the highest rates out of any of the other companies.
4) Wear heavy clothing. The more you weigh the more they pay. Bare the fatty logo with pride.
5) Bring something for entertainment. I, personally, bring my Nintendo 3DS; I've successfully bred many perfect IV Pogeymon whilst having saline pumped into my arms.

Other than that it's an easy $60 a week for just a few hours of your time. I don't know if they changed the starter rates but I got paid $50 each time I went in for my first five visits.

Totally for real. I know the minimum pay for someone's first five sessions was $35 each time when I was beginning to donate, so... yeah. Skinny girls get gypped hard by plasma donation centers.

Also, make sure you bring in your social security card and a piece of mail from your current mailing address. Find a site that isn't extremely popular, and the demand for your looks will be higher and it will be easier to sell. I /have/ a job, but I get paid $5.15/hr after taxes, and I only get 10-15 hours a week because my managers are cunts. I live in a rural area, and going anywhere more than 15 miles away to work for minimum wage would negate the money I was getting with the cost of gas to go the fuck to work. There's nowhere else hiring near me, and I don't really have anything to offer a company that pays more than minimum wage.

I've been looking for a better option for months, but there isn't anything. I hate my job more than anything and all the useless pieces of shit I work with, aside from maybe 3 people there, who are all also looking for other work.

I think you missed the point.

Why can't you just get a job? There's no way your cosplay costs as much as someone who throws it all into their car.

The main point here is: just get a job and then you could afford to pay for your hobbies like me. I could probably afford to cosplay like a pro even with my money leftover after spending it on all that shit. That's because I have a nice steady source of income and I work hard for it.

Quit being a bad waitress then. Even waitresses in low end restaurants can bring home $80 a night. We're talking eat n' park here. Move up to mid grade and we're looking at $120 cash every night.

Waitresses in high end restaurants easily take home $200 a night. Bartenders probably the same $200 a night.

If I worked nights, sure .... but every one wants to work night shifts because thats where the money is at so everyone whose been there longer than me has dibs. >> No.7397462

Work weekends then. If you can't get the shift you want, just go looking for another job and tell them you can't work mornings due to existing obligations (school, other job, you help the homeless).

Also, the most common misconception waitresses have is what their job is. You're also a salesman. Don't just do whatever the customer wants, try selling them the $18 steak over the $10 chicken fingers. Recommend that shit and sound like a commercial and tell them you have your best chef on right now and this would be the time to try the steak if he never has.

Also, if you get nights, sell the fuck out of drinks. It's easier to do that with the regulars who ask for you though. Have those guys skip their after dinner trip to the bar and get all the drinking done at the table instead.

Final secret tip: Kneel down at the table. For some reason waitresses don't do this, but I've always noticed that some male waiters do. It just makes everything feels personal and not like you're towering above them.

Source: I worked as a bus boy at a 5 star restaurant and as a waiter at a cheaper local joint for two years. Made bank, but I hated working until 12:00pm when I had school at 8:00am.

Fuck your shit, I'm the motherfucking holy spirit.

The feelings are strong with this. I got reported for being a lazy asshat and doing nothing when I was running around doing everyone else's job. You're an idiot.

I've worked part time retail, child care and food service since I've turned 18. I've also tried being in a relationship with an older guy that would pay for everything and anything I want and that was cool until he wanted kids and marriage after a couple of months of unprotected daddy/little girl sex and it was honestly more than I could give him becouse I just wanted to go to college and have a career. It wasn't that interesting or fun...we didn't have much to talk about after sex and we barely had anything in commen, it was pretty lonely to tell you the truth.
Going out anywhere was pretty awkward too. His favorite dresses of mine were of the super childish sort like pic related and I have about the body and face of a high school freshman while he clearly looked his age and with me being barely 5 feet tall and him being almost 6'3 we'd get a lot of stares and negative comments in public.
When I told him I can't marry him everything fell apart...
You always go in thinking these kind of relationships are harmless and they can't be more than sex but they really do get personal.
I advise anyone getting into a sugar daddy sort of relationship with someone to make sure that they want it to be impersonal or have multiple girls so that you don't get too close and it really could just be casual sex or company for gifts and money.

College freshmen. I worked as a "massage" girl for a year and raised enough money to open my own spa. Now I don't have to work anymore, have all the time in the world for school and collect $3000-$5000 a week from my spa to spend. I don't buy too much brand though, mostly wear Otome. Oh god hahaha, that SD/SB relationship sounds exactly like me and my husband except we have everything in common, he supports me in college, and he likes me in classic (Mozarabic Chant is his favourite dress). I hope you find someone nice and financially supportive you love hun, it's wonderful having college age youth and freedom and financial stability at the same time.

Husband makes moderate 60k a year, company pays for housing and some travel expenses as well as his health insurance. All school holidays off, and we live in Asia so we have a pretty good lifestyle. I can buy 1-2 full-price brand pieces a month, less if it's crazy expensive (500USD+) but I'm building a good collection. My hospitality course is hopefully going to be yielding some real profit soon, so I can get him some nice things like a good leather satchel or an oculus rift. Apart from lolita we don't have any other vices except for vidya and good food, but we like to cook at home so it's not that expensive either. Last 'big' purchase we made was a nice electrolux blender together, still riding the 'new stuff' high. I've considered camming and sex work for money in the past, obviously not anymore since I'm married now. We've toyed with the idea of selling my used panties or socks, he's fine as long as there's no direct contact. I don't really need to financially, so I'd rather spend my time playing games and painting my nails.

The only thing I could really see myself doing would be what your husband did, which is supporting someone I love through school, and buying them lovely dresses!

Haha no, I sometimes wish I did but I don't want to relinquish my freedom just yet. We'll do it when I've got a more stable career and can afford to take a month or two off and he's ready to retire and house-husband. I have 6 cats (all adopted strays) and feed a couple more in the neighbourhood so that and random medical plus lots of food and litter costs a lot. Then there's utilities and the such, we still have to pay for internet, water, gas, electricity, garbage collection and the maid. There's no established public transport in this country so gas and vehicle rent eats into it too. We like good food and fresh organic produce, and buy vidya pretty often too. All this boils down to about 800 a month for me to spend on lolita/cosmetics and other stuff that's exclusive to me, and 300 for him. It sounds unfair but he likes a small expensive wardrobe so like one new pair of shoes or some alcohol with a shooter keeps him happy. He also spends slightly more on games since he impulse buys cheap shit on xbox market a lot (like 1-5 dollar stuff), and I'm usually pretty happy with free stuff since PSN tends to have better subscriber content than XBOX Gold. We also put aside some for savings, his master's degree, and vacations. We went scuba diving and got our PADI certification at Christmas.

Sure. I started out here in Austin working for a spa. They were pretty selective and asked for a third split. I worked hard doing fbsm and Nuru, no sex. I established myself as a favorite among people who enjoy this hobby, mostly by working out, making sure I always looked cute and sexy and by keeping up with news, sports and such. Men enjoy stimulating conversation during massage. So I eventually saved up $5000 to start my own place. Leased out a studio and turned it into a small spa with only two rooms. Worked for another month solo while maintaining contact with my old coworkers. Offered them a slightly smaller split than the old place. Pocketing $20 per session may seem like chump change but at the end of the night it ads up. Now I have the 5 most popular girls in the area working for me, I make sure they're safe by hiring security. Now I'm looking into getting a small apartment building to rent out. Double my money and be able to concentrate on school. I went into it all wanting to make money for brand but now I'm looking at the long term. For girls interested in going this route, stick with massage. It's easy money, and you don't have to sell yourself. Just be pretty, fit and smart. Brains will help you stay safe and make the right moves so you can go solo. If you're good and you work hard, you can open your own spa in less than 3 months too. It's worth it.

Lately I've been using some of my leftover money from my student loans to help pay for a couple dresses. I think if people knew the truth about this they would call me a dumb bitch, but actually the leftover money was meant for food/misc supplies to begin with, and I'm not eating as much (which is good news for my scale since I'm overweight). The way I see it is at least with the dresses I have a bit of collateral to sell back. Whereas if I blew my money on food, booze, or other shit there's no hope to get any of that money back in the future if I need it.

I'm currently a grad student (one more year left if I can crank out my dissertation in time) but I live in a depressed college town where there's no real job opportunities that I can use my undergrad degree for. So I'm stuck in another (slightly less stressful) retail job where they give me one or two four hour shifts a week with a pay of $8/hr. I think my highest paycheck in the last month has been ~$60.
It pays my gas, but nothing else.

To tell you the truth I'm really fucking depressed about being in debt after grad school (and my parent's want to see me attend law school yet) and I know I'll have the debt no matter what I wind up spending it on. I've tried applying for assistantships to lessen the tuition, but profs usually take in people with teaching degrees/experience before others like myself. At least the dresses make me happier before my imminent doom. It feels incredibly limited and hopeless.

That's pretty awesome. How much (ballpark) did it cost to open your spa? Did you live off of your wages too or did you save the whole lot and put them towards the business?

I pay for my dresses with my student loan, and sometimes take bits out of my savings. I'm in the odd position of getting maximum financial aid from SFE, whilst not paying rent because I part-own my house. Basically, a few months after we did my loan application, my grandmother died and mother and I between us inherited enough to buy a small flat about an hour from uni. I'm generally able to save about £50-200 a month. I'm also looking at investing in some property of my own; when I finish my degree my mother wants to buy me out, and I still have a bit of my inheritance left over, so in total I'll have about £12,000 for a deposit. I'd like to buy somewhere in Cardiff, so I can live there for a bit.

He's very kinky. But he's generous.

>he paid 5k to take my virginity
>gives me 5k a month now

Rubber gloves also trigger it, since it makes my hands sweat. It's actually Pompholyx or Vesicular Eczema. Sometimes associated with the sweat glands, and can be triggered by stress and heat as well. It forms clusters of small pinprick blisters under the skin and causes swelling and intense itching. I really have to baby my hands, they can't be dry or wet for long periods of time, constantly moisturized, never scratch or in extreme temperatures, and can't grip things tightly. I have pills for if the itching gets really bad and steroid creams to reduce the blisters and special moisturizer. It's only in the palms of my hands and the base of my fingers so nail polish doesn't irritate it, but I have to be careful when using remover. I've done the dishes with gloves (and lots of talc inside) before, but it's a hassle and I can't do other housework.

That arrangement sounds great, what sort of stuff do you do together? Just dining and sex or vacations and stuff too? 56 is a fair bit older than my husband but I don't see why not, how's the sex? Gosh I'd love 5k in pure allowance, so much braannddd.

He throws parties to his close friends where he does things to me.

>he puts me in chains
>he slaps me around
>makes me eat out his asshole
>makes me suck him and his friends
>fucks me
>calls me names, "my shy nerd fuck toy" etc
All that in front of them. Once in a while he lets his freinds borrow me. They're all older too.

Oh god that sounds so hot. Husband and I talk about stuff like that but he's too possessive to actually do it. I know it turns him on thinking about fucking me while I suck someone else's cock. Good on you, very Eyes Wide Open.

I'm ok for everything except sharing. In fact, I do everything with my partner except sharing. But he is kind of a hygiene freack so we shower and wash deeply before having kiny sex.
