I get neetbucks as well as living at home. Not necessarily. I was a NEET when I immigrated because I didn't have a permit that allowed me to work. I came where I am now on the basis of family ties which takes a really long time to process, and in the meantime you just sit pretty.
Being a NEET doesn't necessarily mean you'll be one forever, doesn't mean that you're uneducated or that you don't want to work and/or are lazy.
I used to get shit all the time for being an immigrant and "mooching off the country" and people seriously thought I could afford Chanel bags and four Ferraris with the measly gubbamint money. Another problem is that lots of immigrant NEETs can't work because their qualifications from their home country can be only used as toilet paper in other countries and no one gives a rat's ass if you have a PhD because you lived in Bumfuckistan which in their opinion is pretty much a non-country. Not to mention that everyone requires you to know the language immediately after you arrive because "we speak x in y" or else you get beat up.

I don't know how it is for people with mental illnesses or other disfigurements but I do know that a lot of people aren't NEETs by choice. I have a great job now but it came to me out of sheer luck and many immigrants aren't that fortunate.

Also, "being forced to pay taxes" is hardly "generosity". No one is donating that money, you do realize that. Even NEETs pay taxes themselves, at least in the EU.

Hey Just so you guys know you can find a lot of these fainting couches/ fancyshit at estate sales for cheap.

I got a fainting couch for like $90 but more often then not I can get couches/headboards for like $5-$30.

A lot of the stuff can be repainted and made super pretty.

That dark brown cabinet is an eyesore, you need to repaint it a lighter color (maybe mint). The pink couch thing is also too obtuse and dark, maybe get a lighter pink cover for it or get dark pink frills around your shelves. You can make it yourself with some velcro strips and ruffles. Your room's a bit uncohesive color wise.

You could get a multiple clothes hanger, that way you can save up space on your closet? Also, organizer boxes. Stuff things in them and they can look cute cause you hide the clutter in them.

To make a room bigger, make sure to have the walls painted with a bright color. Pastel or white/cream would be good for example. If you have a small window, you can make it appear bigger by hanging curtains that are taller than it (for example, that go all the way down to the floor). That can also help give the room the illusion that it is bigger.

I'm thinking, posters and such would look a bit tacky - if you want to keep it classy, I would suggest getting some lolita art printed(or whatever is your hobby) in your room's colour scheme and frame them to hang on the walls.

Also, it could use to add some personal touches - buy a fancy mirror to put on that chest of drawers next to the bed - also put there some of your perfumes, a couple of candles and some cute makeup.

Plant a weeping willow with a flowerbed circle under it, put daffodils to naturalize in the lawn (they die back before it's time to mow) and put in some foundation plants that bloom (maybe hydrangeas) with seasonal plants and bulbs in front of them, I'd paint the house federal blue, white trim and shutters, change out or paint the railings for white, get a white wicker patio set and a porch swing. kotatsu anon here! I actually just received it in the mail yesterday. Fedex had beaten the box up pretty bad but everything was packed well enough that the actual kotatsu wasn't damaged at all. I ended up getting this floralxbrown futon because most of the choices were sold out but its super thick and comfy. Some items are damaged because of age/neglect but I knew one person who was going to these that would buy furniture, restore or repaint it and make ridiculous money off of reselling them. One of these days I might as well bring a good hundred dollars or so and see what I could get although when buyers or other auctioneers are there they almost always know to bid high on the good furniture.

I really want to make my room look nice, but every time I look at the shape of it I just give up. My room is shaped like a trapezoid and I I can't find anything that looks nice near the corners.. Do any other anons have oddly shaped rooms?

I think these are actual rooms. To me they're easily lived in compared to say, keeping all your dresses on the wall.

These threads have finally done it, yesterday I spent over three hours gutting out everything I didn't want or need that was still in my bedroom and I'm going to give it all to salvies or donation bins today. Old clothes, posters, anime VHS tapes, art supplies I never used, plushies and some cheap revoltechs. Also threw out a ton of old school artwork and notebooks. I'm trying to minimalize as much as possible before trying to move everything around but it's starting to look good.

Cleaning and moving stuff around is pretty fun, too.

I don't know if you'd be interested but I have a bunch of small unused polymer/sculpey clay packets. Probably around 25 unopened and a couple half-pieces. They're old but have been in a beareu drawer for years and haven't seen much for oxygen along with the majority of them in their original wrapping. I don't think they really go bad either but the halves might be a bit stiff. There was also a handful of prisma color markers, wood dowel rods and some pieces of felt, I also found a big set of regular colored pencils but I'm thinking about hanging on to those. I might have another set but I haven't gone through my art supplies tote yet.
