Unpopular opinion: Yoko's first costume is terribly designed. It's like they put a mix of accessory junk and fetish fuel on a dartboard and played darts while drunk. It's very rare that I've seen anyone look good in this costume, particularly since it shows off areas where women are most likely to put on body fat (upper arms, stomach, upper thighs, boobs, ass, etc). There's absolutely nothing left to the imagination and no room to make it more flattering.

tl;dr everyone looks like shit in Yoko because her costume is pretty shit to begin with

Personally, I'm tired of seeing Yoko's with bright red wigs, but the belt is probably my biggest pet peeve. I hate that they go to so much effort in other areas and just say "fuck it" to the belt. It's not even that hard to make.

I saw a Yoko at Colossalcon a couple years ago who was wearing a zebra print belt...

I really like Yoko's default and Bounty Hunter outfits.
I don't think they're bad designs, they're just hard to pull off correctly. You need to have matching pinks, blacks, and reds, and everything has to be fitted, plus you need to have a cute face and toned body.
I also want to see a Yoko with a correct ponytail. It's supposed to go up a little, most Yoko cosplayers have it straight out of the bag where it just hangs down.

To be honest, she's not my type, but just because I don't think she's cute, doesn't mean that nobody does, and it still doesn't give me any reason to poke fun at her for liking herself.

I was like that too until recently, I spent my free time sniffing out attention whores and looked down on people who were too comfortable with themselves, because it made me uncomfortable to think that maybe all my pent up self hatred wasn't normal.
I can't say that I've worked on my self image, but I can say that I'm a lot less miserable now that I don't spend my time actively trying to tear people down.

At a Rochester con in 2011 that girl went as Yoko, and subsequently submitted one of her pictures to the Otaku House Cosplay Contest online. What she didn't tell people was that she (poorly) shooped her photo. Now that might not be so bad in itself, but she had the audacity to go on DA/other Yoko submissions and criticize the 'accuracy' of their costumes or pick at an aspect of their bodies.
It was enough to piss someone off so much that they leaked the unedited version of her photo, which cum girl then denied saying it had been "reversed photoshopped," maintaining that the original one was her 'natural waist' and that she had 'big boobs.' You could probably still find people telling her off in the old Otaku House albums (with her comments baleeted, of course).
So she submitted a second photo, which was even worse and showed off even less of the costume with more of her squished tits, claiming that her MS Paint eyes were not shooped either.
People called her out on this as well.
She whined on Otaku House's wall that she was being 'bullied,' and then her boyfriend chimed in and called everyone who labeled her a phony attention whore a bunch of 'cum dripping fuck sponges.'
