they want you to make it large and able to repeat over and over again. the edges of that print lines up so that the print lines up when they need to print many yards

also give space for hem. if you are using photoshop you can change the resolution of your canvas by cm, instead of pixels.

>> No.7328782

>>7328764

Alrightly, let's see what we have here.

1. The striped border needs to repeat. IE, end with a cream stripe on the left and a brown stripe on the right.
2. The design apparently has to be extended by 8cm for the hem.
3. Too many colors?
4. Something about repeating.
5. The file name has to include the width and height in cm.

>> No.7328789

>>7328764
1. I think they want you to make sure the edges of the print match up
2. You have to leave 8cm of edge so they can hem it without compromising the border print
3. Colour format should be RGB (instead of CMYK or other formats)
4. Image resolution stuff (I'm surprised the dpi's so low, usually it's 300)
5. The file title should be the print name and then the dimensions

The purple I'd agree is much too saturated. Something like pic related?
This is looking great. I like what you did with the sweet and gothic.

How do you intend to have the image be around the skirt? Are you going to draw it to repeat in a loop around? Are you going to have it blocked in multiple sections around it? Are you going to have it just once in the middle of the front (I hope not)?

If you're not going to loop it, I think that you should get the grass on the righthand side to be more rounded. The left has a good curve to it, but the right is just boxed off.

The background also needs some interest. Perhaps an all over print of little clusters of flowers that are in a slightly darker/lighter shade than the block color?

If anybody was wondering what was in a bodyline lucky pack.

I hate to post while everyone's talking about "lucky" packs and stuff but i'm gonna be doing lolita for the first time in a bit and being the poor fuck I am i'm gonna be ordering off of Bodyline.

Any suggested stuff from bodyline that could fall under the sweet lolita tag?

They seem to earnestly be attempting to overcome that whole 'creepy mr. yan' aspect they've kept for years - I guess venus's antics to try and make money off it sort of made them put their foot down? I know they're cheap but at least they seem to be trying to listen to their customers - better than soe of the black listing I've heard btssb has been doing lately.

Yeah, but their attempts to overcome their reputation kind of dig them into deeper hole. Posted their version of the story with Venus telling she stinks - um, no, that's not what they should do to redeem themselves. Wait, y'all are doing this for a 'gift'!? Bodyline doesn't pay you to use the print or royalties? Seriously girls? You'll be much better off selling it to a Taobao brand. One brand pays 1500rmb initial payment for the rights to use the design, and 30 rmb off each dress sold. There's also a renewable payment of 2000 rmb if it's popular enough for a rerelease plus royalties again.

Still deciding on other supplementary motifs/patterns to go with the illustration. Oh god, I hope the colours are working... aauuughhh

Sadly, the design does not repeat. If my design doesn't get accepted I'm thinking about revising it and releasing a vectorised version of it later on spoonflower or something.

Guys, Error-Anon here.
Recap: After purchasing my BL order through paypal, I was redirected to BL site to confirm order. I got pic related when I hit confirm.
The order and receipt of all the items went through paypal and the money has been reduced from my bank.
I did not get a confirmation email nor tracking from Bodyline.

I put the order through at 1am-3am on January 24th
I sent an email asking about confirmation at 2pm later that day at the r@bodyline.co.jp email.

It is now five days later and I haven't gotten any emails from them. I am checking my spam folder every time I check my email.

Did I send my email to the wrong address? I was told that if it went through to paypal that it should be fine, but I've heard of bodyline shipment waits that extend past the paypal dispute cutoff.

Should I send more emails? How long should I wait between emails? How long should I wait before opening a paypal dispute?

>> No.7336046

>>7336035
Should I file the dispute right away? I'd prefer to confirm with Bodyline that the order did or didn't go through, and make a dispute if they never get back to me.
If it ends up that it went through just fine and my order is on the way, I wouldn't want to cancel it.

I just don't know how long I should wait or how annoying I should be with emails.
But you think I shouldn't wait at all?

Chess Story or KL I'm guessing, they make the most money and are the only ones who do reruns. KL's shop owner made 6 figures in rmb in her second year of business. It was posted on the Chinese equivalent of /cgl/, anonymous drama board. The OP was talking about questionable business practises and ridiculous profit margins of taobao brands. I know for a fact Jellyfish's designer didn't get royalties because the dress was only based on her concept art and KL's own designer drew the final print.

But it still is ridiculous you're all willing to give away all rights and no royalties for some shitty gift. Commercial designs should be selling for 4k rmb at least if they're buying it outright.

All the shops and dramacows have nicknames, it moves even slower than /cgl/, and Chinese web slang is rampant. So if you're not a native speaker and in touch with the Chinese community you won't understand anything. Everything is archived though, but threads aren't bumped with replies, just in order of posting. You're completely misunderstanding the point, it has nothing to do with what the artist themselves wants to do, but with building up the kind of expectations you see a LOT that anyone should be entitled to get free shit from an artist. "Because they can use it in their portfolio" isn't an excuse not to pay an artist you want work from.

Anyone sending prints in to Bodyline (should) already know that they're essentially doing charity work for the sake of other lolitas (or themselves) if they want something to get made on mass scale so they can buy it and don't care about the profits. Well, here's a photo of the jacket and blouse I got (not pictured the pants, since they're just black knee-length with blue satin ribbon at the legs, or the red fruits parlor replica bag that was there also.)
From what I gather after a bit of google image searching, it's apparently parts from what attempts to be a Ciel Phantomhive costume. The jacket lacks the chain, though (it has stisches in the spots where it's supposed to attach, but it wasn't present in the package) and the blouse is something entirely else.
Blouse's also stained at the collar, I wonder if this is one of them "defective products lucky bag"?
