Has anyone found glasses that actually accurate yet? 99% of what I've found are too way big or the wrong shape.

I get all my wigs from Lucaille, the photos are very accurate to the actual product. I ordered the Mirai wig a week ago but I got a message it wouldn't be restocked for another 20 days. (I think it looks better than the cosplaywho version of the wig)

If you have a Daiso near you, check and see if you can find these. The only caveat is that there's glitter embedded in the frames, but it's not immediately obvious in photos or if you're more than talking distance away. That, and they're only 1.50

Pic related, there's also the official frames being released by Cospa next month. I was really tempted, but... 6500 jpy, ouch. I'll stick with my glittery Daiso frames.

I own a pair of red glasses (they're my everyday wear ones) but the frames aren't quite right. I'll check out Daiso's online store.

Would it be okay to wear glasses with the lenses in them for cosplay? I'm thinking about issues with lens glare in photos.

I keep seeing cosplayers with this wig, and it looks weird.
No one is as perfectly pale as an anime character, so the peach color of the wig looks too pink next to their skin tone.

Basically, you just need to be aware of your skin tone and also the color of your cardigan. The cardigan should be more pink, the wig more peach.

I would selfpost (since I think I have a good color balance) but I know I'll get ripped a new asshole for trying to give advice when my costume isn't perfect in some random person's eyes.

I can never be small and cute enough to cosplay Mirai...so I'm cosplaying Mitsuki instead.

I used this wig! It's actually pretty perfect, since it's a nice color and a bit bottom heavy like with Mirai's hair. I ordered it from Moemall, but they used the same stock picture and everything. I was going to write a review on my tumblr, but I got it right before the con so I just cut it and tried it out.

Also, for the glasses, I decided to use my actual pair of slightly big black glasses frames, only because they were the only pair I could find that looked natural on a human face. I painted it using nail polish and it came out alright. The cosplay came with the gigantic red ones while the wig surprisingly came with a pair with square frames and no lenses.

Also, the wig does come with a cowlick, it just doesn't show in these pictures. It has the wire thing built into it too so you can style it.

And here's a picture of the front and back of the wig. The bangs aren't perfect but it's my first time cutting a wig in a while and I'll probably go over it later. It's a bit messy as I just took it out of its ziploc and haven't really touched it since Sunday after the con.

So, I'm planning on making my winter uniform but I cannot for the life of me understand how the jackets are constructed. How does it open, how is the collar attached? Does anyone have a jacket they wouldn't mind taking photos of open so I can understand?

The jacket I got has two pairs of buttons but only the outside buttons are functional. It looks like the collar is sewn directly onto it, and the scrap of fabric above it is kept on with velcro. Here's a picture of the front and inside of it.

What makes the most sense from a uniform standpoint is that the collar is actually part of the blouse you see the girls wearing in the spring.

GIRLS
Summer: short sleeved blouse, skirt
Spring (+Fall?): long sleeved blouse, vest, skirt
Winter: long sleeved blouse, blazer, skirt

BOYS
Summer: short sleeved shirt, slacks
Spring (+Fall?): long sleeved shirt, slacks
Winter: long sleeved shirt, blazer, slacks

I always have a problem trying to find a pink to match my skin tone, do you have any suggestions?

I'm hoping to do Ayaka for AB this year, if I'm able to make it in time. I always saw her hair as being a dark grey, but can't find anything similar. Also, I've looked up kimono patterns and I can't follow it at all, no idea how I'm going to make it... lol.

And as far as kimono patterns go, it's a lot easier to understand when you've got your fabric for a mockup laid out.

Great base but I suggest hyper stylizing it as one of her defining physical traits (and constantly loved/hated traits) is her expressive poofy hair.
You don't have to go FULL-YUGIOH on that shit, just piece it out and spray dramatically for a cartoony effect.

I have a similar wig as the one posted above, and I'm gonna poof and texturize the shit out of it. Also I think really young, doll-like or young makeup is important for this cosplay. But not the creepy kind.

they have a lot of really good stuff for mirai on taobao if you're willing to find a good agent!! I've ordered all of my stuff for my mirai cosplay from there and the quality is really good!

Hollow or solid? I'm thinking of redoing my sword as a resin cast since I rushed through the making of my first.

My only reservation is that the current one weighs less than 6oz. It's fragile, but it's incredibly easy to pose with for the size.

Hrmm I got this sweater at Forever 21, they had this in a very light pink.

Wow putting on my trip for the first time in forever, because this is the point where I might selfpost.
I used this cardigan, and I dyed it. I used a combo of pink and tan RIT dye and then put it in the washing machine. It came out a pretty much perfect color, I was so happy!
The drape is really perfect, that's why I got it too. I agree tho, I wish it had the collar. I'm so torn about it haha.

If you want I can pull up a pic of my costume, or at least take a pic of the cardigan itself to show you how the color turned out.

Ok here is a badly cropped and too-dark pic of it together. I decided to cosplay Mirai too close to the con to buy anything from taobao (I had gotten the wig way in advance to see if I still felt like cosplaying her) so that's why I turned to the cardigan at Forever 21.

For my next con I'm definitely gonna try to tease the shit out of the wig, it has volume when I fluff it on the wighead but then like 10 minutes of being on my head makes it go flat ugh.

I cut them and then tried to hairspray them into sections, it's hard to see in the pic. It didn't work too well, but this was kind of the "test run" of the costume so I'm going to fix it before the next time I wear it.
(I also have a super super short forehead and really dark roots so separating bangs as much as hers looks awful on me)

I adore the cardigan, I'm just sad it got a little bit stretched out lengthwise after I hung it to dry (because I'm stupid and hung it). The fit and drape and all that is so good... It's super comfy too!

I got it in the cream color. I was especially excited because I'm a fatty and was worried Taobao cardigans would be too small, but this one fits really well!

Does anyone know of a pattern that would work for the uniform top? Most people I've seen have bought their uniforms.

They're just brown oxfords I got a few years ago from Steve Madden, but any kind of flat oxford would work. But yeah I love the drape and it has just the right amount of slouch in the sleeves. Which some of the ones from taobao don't seem so.
