Yes, shitty comm thread please.

My local comm is atrocious. It's filled with ita weeaboos that can barely dress themselves and they always go to the same cafe for every meet. The food isn't even that good there.

I'm not a lolita but I meet up with a seagull recently and she was telling me how horrific the NYC comm is. I knew they had bad drama but the shit she told me made me so embarrassed for them.

We don't have meets very often, which is kinda sucky I guess. And certain people occasionally post dumb shit on the main comm page, but aside from that, I got super lucky with my local comm.

My community really lacks in talent when it comes to dressing themselves. Most of them are fatty chans or skyscrapers who's skirts barely cover their butts and insist they wear AP. They aren't creative with their coordinates at all and some of them would rather waste their money on stupid shit over a lolita coat. I wouldn't mind so much, but some of the girls come to meets in coats that really don't go with their coords.

There's also this one girl who is so weeby, yet everyone in the comm seems to like her despite her obnoxious attitude.

I realise this might mean you are talking about me by process of elimination, but as I have been to a grand total of two meets and am not into anime I am pretty sure I'm safe.

I agree that everyone from the comm is pretty tall and perhaps should rethink their dress choices (i.e. not AP), but I think that we have quite a few well dressed people in amongst the poorly dressed weebs.

I think she does very pretty, understated sweet outfits with a high street fashion twist. Her overall presentation is very neat and she is always clean looking. I live on Long Island! I'm part of the common facebook, but I haven't attended a single meet up. If you know Sierra, she's really great and sweet. I did a photoshoot with her once because I was friends with her boyfriend (now possibly fiance?) And she was really cool about letting me use her accessories for the shoot.

Also, nicole, the leader of the group I guess? Nicole Oliva? She's super nice, not a fan of the way she does her hair and make up, but thats your typical "theatre" girl. I did the macabre fair with her, thinking I'd get to wear Lolita, but we ended up doing some horror fest. It was cool, she was nice and it was a really fun experience.

You'd think that NY would have at least semi-decent lolita communities but all the ones I've encountered are horrible.
I know a few girls from the LI comm. some are really nice and sweet. I've only encountered one girl who can put together really nice coords. Some are ok dresses, but there's lots of shitty dressers. The head of the comm, Nicole (The girl with the creepy baby doll) is a total sweetheart but is just so borderline ita it hurts. Most of their meets are around Suffolk since that's where she lives so I tend to stick more around the NYC lolitas. But that's a whole other shitfest. I just can't wait for the lone lolita meetup next month.

I just joined the comm a few months ago, but I haven't been able to go to any meets yet because of work, and the fact that I live like 2 hours away. It's just the closest comm to me.

I joined up with my community when it first started and at the time it was great! Good outfits, nice girls with interesting jobs and most importantly no weebs.

Fast forward two years and its weebs, teens, and ita's evvvvverrywere. One of our meetup pics ended up on cgl a while ago and while anons said my coord was good (thanks cgl) i had to agree with the person who posted it: Our comm looked like crap. Not to mention that we have SO MANY special snowflakes and everyone is being a whiny shit these days.

Can my comm be fixed /cgl/? I had hoped id meet people with a love for lolita and instead i found weebs and special snowflakes who wear lolita to be ~*Different*~

Suggestions for what to do when you're in a comm full of poorfags? I've been in the fashion for much less than pretty much all the members of the comm, but because I actually I have money to spend I feel like I'm outgrowing them. I don't want to abandon them for a "better" comm, but it's nice to be able to talk to other lolitas about their recent purchases, rather than having people tell you how their jealous of what you have.

They share a lot of aesthetics but they're also super different. Steampunk can have a variety of silhouettes- pants, long gowns, suits, and is based around a mix of technology and victorian turn of the century fashion. Lolita is a mix of various period fashions but with a unifying, poofy knee-length skirt silhouette (for the most part), much more based on cuteness, elegance and a bit of a princessy look.

Anything more than that and just read the board sticky, it's there for a reason.

My local comm used to have a lot of drama surrounding it. I knew the basics and was somewhat close through school to someone involved, so I didn't bother attending meets/getting involved in them. The drama seems to have died down though and I met a few of the members at a local event awhile ago and they seemed sweet, so I think I'll attend their next meetup.

Meanwhile, because of the drama I think they forbid their members from seagulling or something? Or at least keep a close eye on them. SO I guess if they knew I was here I wouldn't be welcome anyways LOL

I'm in one of the many SoCal comms, and for the most part people are pretty chill and dress relatively well. There are some chubby-chans, but they know how to dress themselves, and some newbie itas that are slowly learning, but the core group usually look really great.

We're also generally low on drama and quite a few people hang out here on cgl, so we're pretty good about avoiding shit-talking. It's nice.

Not terrible, but girl should tuck the blouse in and should save the harlequin socks and bow for a different coord. The makeup application could use some work.

The cut of the blouse makes her shoulders look wider, little top hat, cheap lace wristcuff?, and the socks with white lace on an otherwise all black and gray outfit.

Girl needs some make up and her hair done, otherwise she looks fine, though the cut of the blouse collar looks slightly odd paired with the jsk.

Then 2 days later I get banned. Victoria tells everyone I flipped out when I found out but honestly I didn't. I closed FB and never went back and to this day I don't attend any NYC meetups.

I think I should mention that I'm younger than all of the girls that participated, at the time I was 19. Nah, Tucson's not bad. Dominique is retarded by Candice is the nicest person on the planet and even though she gets roasted on here, her recent coords have all been boring-to-good tier. There are a few more in the Tuc-loli group that are consistently well-dressed and sweet too, but no one can stand Dominique. I used to knock Tucson too, until I got to know more than just it's most vocal members.

Phoenix comm as stated is super sweet, accepting of newcomers and transfers, and fairly active, the downside of which being (as already mentioned) that just due to the sheer size of the comm there is a large ratio of ita weeb:actual lolitas. No recent drama though, not really anything worth talking about for a couple years actually.

Northern AZ also has a small comm, but I can't speak to their activity levels and the one picture I've seen of them was pretty rachet.

You know, I made a point to schedule last year's skating meetup on a day *other* than Valentine's Day, and we haven't had our skating meetup on V-Day proper in the past 3 years. It's just called the Valentine's Skating meetup because it's in February and the hostesses usually give out Valentines and candy. Ugh I remember this. I was in the group that was with Cadney, and while we were waiting for the rain to pass and Amani called, she told them to put the youngest girl there on the phone and oh god. When the girl reported back to us she was kind of shaken up because she was basically interrogated about where certain people in the comm were and what 'actually' happened. She told Amani exactly what happened, and Amani was obviously not pleased. I bet she felt that since the girl was new-er to the comm she was easily impressionable and she just kept talking to her in this soft voice (the kind you use when you ask a little kid what's wrong) The girl's 17 not a five year old.
Basically, Amani interrogated a young girl (who could actually fucking dress herself) and I haven't seen her at a meet since.
