Hate to agree with a trip but while the costumes aren't shit, they're not that great either. I get that they're trying to do a simple style to match the art but the art still has some details that they just made look really cheap looking. Like Yuna's skirt or Riku's shoes.

Aside from picking an ugly design to make in the first place -

Rikku's hair is completely and entirely wrong. There's not nearly enough on top.

The skirts are both too long.

The fabric on Rikku's skirt and top is doing that wrinkly stretching, which would lead me to believe that she didn't size her clothing porperly, or has something swen unevenly.

The scarf is a train wreck.

The bows are hard to see, but they don't look so great either.

Yuna's isn't so bad, but that Rikku is pretty awful.

It just looks like they didn't want to put any effort at all into it so they chose the simplest designs, and then half-assed that.

Not sure what issue you have with me to be continuing this argument, but I'll humor you. The "obesechan cankles and mongoloid wrists" exist in the super-deformed versions of the characters due to the art style, while both features are not present in the "realistic" versions. Stocking's plumper characteristics, however, are present in both her super-deformed and realistic versions.
