Gonna try and see if I can get at least Ivy done since I've wanted to make her George Washington outfit since 2006

I thought I'd have more than one cosplay, but it looks like I'll only have Demande ready before Katsu. What's the weather usually like? I have another one I wouldn't mind using, but it has no sleeves and I don't want to freeze.

Holy shit. I only just today got my stuff for the wig and legs on this monster of a cosplay.
I thought I was going to be able to whip up a megara cosplay too, but meh no money no cosplay. And I don't think I have enough time. Guess I'll just eyewear princess Serenity.

Inside the convention area it's usually not too bad. I've seen people in not much more than a bra and panties before. I've worn a short strapless dress with tights before, and it's cold walking around but, hey, the things we do for cosplay, right?

Actually Friday was beautiful and sunny and warm, which of course I wore my winter coat cosplay. Saturday was freezing and wet and terrible which is when I had my tshirt cosplay.

Life.

But yeah unless you plan on staying inside the hotel the entire time (totally doable) stick with long sleeves. Pack long underwear for costumes where you might just have one or two layers.

I'm excited and dreading it all at the same time. It's a weird feeling. Honestly, At this point I don't know If I'll be able to get either costume done in time. Marie is priority since I've been working on her longer, but I'll be significantly more mobile in Emi so who knows. Marie probably won't be as lavish as I would have hoped either.

Last year wasn't terrible, just windy and sunny.
But it's really easy to stay inside the Gaylord unless you need to run for food or to the CVS for general supplies.

Are panel decisions even out yet? Haven't heard anything so far.

This will be my first time at Katsu since 2007 so I'm double excited to see the gaylord!!

Hajime (school uni) from Gatchman CROWDS
Talim SC2 (big maybe)

All I have left to make is my alpaca kigu and Hajimes skirt and order wigs..

Going to shave a bald spot in my head and do Trevor from GTA V, should have a Franklin with me. If I knew I could get away with it I'd get a Razr scooter and go around looking for "scooooter brothers."

Also doing Riot from Jem and the Holograms with my friend as Jem.

I'm wearing lolita all weekend. I'm too lazy to start a new cosplay.

Somehow I am going to get all three of these done in time:

-- Tachibana Kanade/Tenshi (Angel Beats)
-- Kiryuin Satsuki (KLK -- anyone know if someone's planning a meetup?)

Gonna be sweatshopping it this week while I'm at my parents' house, aww yeah. If I can get the main base garments done for each cosplay (save boot covers), I'll be in good shape.

Going to try my damnedest to make Nyanta from Log Horizon, and Pangoro from Pokemon for it.
Just ordered a head base for Nyanta, waiting on a sale to order the furs for both, and getting the rest of Nyanta's clothing fabric after MAGFest when that 25% off entire purchase Joanns coupon is in effect.
...Yeah, I'm thinking Nyanta's rapiers are going to be optional at this point.

Also bringing Mother's Rosario Kirito, and good ol' Renamon, hoping that we'll have the Tamers Trio this year. I should check in with our Guilmon.

So when do they announce panel acceptances? I applied to host a panel and I am wondering when I should start preparing for it...I need to assemble a full cast for it and while I don't want to get everything together only to have it shot down, I don't want to be given like a week or so to do all of the casting & prep work.

A group of us are going as Les Mis schoolboys. I've already pieced together Enjolras' vest and it's looking pretty good. For once in my life I actually have a costume mostly pieced together with time to spare before a convention.

Will also be a Templar in full armor to harass the assassin's again. That was fun last year.

Katsu has always been a target for out of state travelers, though, especially since it hit the Gaylord.

I doubt it. The Gazebo was only off-limits because of the idiots we had to share the con center with last year.

They aren't allowed back because they damaged the hotel far more than we ever did, so there shouldn't be any problems with the gazebo this year.

Finally finalized my plans, so I'll be at Katsu for the first time in years! Bringing Apollo & Milo, but I haven't decided which day I'm wearing which cosplay.

This will be my first year at Katsucon because I was recovering from Ohayocon last year. I didn't get a hotel since the drive isn't too bad, but I'm regretting that a little bit now...
I still haven't worked out what cosplays I will actually be wearing. So far it's looking like SH3 Heather, Black Butler Finnian, and maybe Ciel, Sakura (Street Fighter), or Angela (SH2)...

Nothing HAPPENED at the gazebo, there was just a Bahai youth convention going on at the same time. With the way the place works the Gazebo balcony was technically on their turf not Katsucon turf. Sicne there was enough concern they just ran a rope divider down the middle so people could still gather for photos and the Bahai kids could walk through without hassle. I imagine it will be the same this year as well.

It's my first time at Katsu and I'm getting really excited. However, I'm also getting really anxious because I'm afraid I won't get one of my costumes finished in time. I'm wearing Junko from Dangan Ronpa (done), Riven from League of Legends (finishing up a few things and working on the sword), and an iDOLM@STER cosplay which is barely started. This will be my first time at Katsucon. I've only ever been to a small local con before (which is in two weeks and I'm really excited about) so I'm sure it'll be quite the experience.

I'll be there as Kiki one day, if I can get it finished I'll be doing a bubblehead nurse another day, and then I'll either break out Kurogane or just go in lolita.

I've got a room at Red Roof 13 miles away reserved if anyone wants in. I currently have zero people to split it with and decided I maybe don't want to spend 150 bucks.
