Trying to figure out whether or not I'd look like an idiot in gyaru/fairy kei/anything on the flashier side, since I'm about 5'8'' and painfully un-kawaii without heaps of makeup (which, while being fun, takes a lot of time to apply and makes me feel sort of dishonest).

This is a pretty average picture of myself but I'm too lazy to take a new one.

Measurements are as follows: 5'9 34/25/40 I also have pretty big thighs and size 10 feet.

For the most part I wear a sort of mature sweet and otomeish style. I really love chocolate print stuff and sweets in general. But in lolita I'm not much of a fan of pastel vomit.

I've been thinking about maybe branching out into fairy kei or perhaps mori but Im unsure. I really enjoy classic lolita but I don't think I really have the face to pull it off.

I've always been interested in J-fash, particularly mori and classic lolita. The only thing stopping me is my giant ass nose, which I feel like ruins my entire face to be honest. If you were up for getting blue contacts and getting make-up to create a light completion, I do think that you could pull something like cult party kei off. Here are my suggestions:

-A darker classic lolita style that's heavily influenced by historical periods would be really pretty on you. Or gothic. Mori would also be nice. Especially if it's a kid of witchy mori.
-I would save to get a more lolita-apprpriate style of frames, if you're going to wear glasses, though. Also, there are ways to make small eyes look bigger. You could always perfect those methods. If you're comfortable with it, you should also consider false lashes. They would help make your eyes stand out in photos more and certain types are flattering on small eyes. They don't have to be too dramatic, either.
-Also at the risk of sounding like a prison inmate, you've pretty lips. I would line and fill them with a nude colored pencil and top it off with a sheer lip balm with a hint of shine if I were you. Berry colors would look best.
-Your curly hair looks like it would be really pretty when it's down, so I would take steps to make it even curlier. There are curl-enhanching shampoos, conditioners and other products that you should look into if you already haven't. Blow-drying your hair with a diffuser also defines curls.

Ugh I want to participate but I'm nervous about showing my face.

I'm already immersed in a couple of styles, but I'd like to hear what you think without the visual cues so: generic summer bedwear. General makeup/grooming advices most definitely welcome, I'm stuck with what to do with my brows and hair especially. It's hip length now for that very reason.

I am still not sure in what style I would like to complete my wardrobe. I like Mori, Classic Lolita, Gothic Lolita and toned down sweet. Nothing to overly cutesy, but i am not sure what I can pull off, because I think I have a pretty round face, am fairly short and people guess who my age think I am around 16 most of the time, which is 4 years younger then I actually am. The left most one looks like it's all too short on you for the "look". In the right outfit it hangs down the sort of correct length for a comfy outfit like this. The left one seems like it's all too short for you, and the thickness of the scarf exagerates this. Also maybe a little too much layering that makes it look too bunched up.

Like another anon said, anything that cinches your waist would probably solved the problem pretty easily. A wide belt, vest, or layering in a different way would make your waist pretty small. For example, someone posted a mori coord with pants here and while it was one of their first mori coords, the general idea of the layers being more up top and having a more tapered waist and legs works well

My family has European back grounds on both sides and I have a disspointingly thin top lip like she does so that's probably why. Never heard that before though haha, if you saw a full body picture i don't think you would think the same way, I am a bit over weight, not obese or anything, and have fairly large curves, not very Venus-y. It's okay anon, I don't think I will ever be inticed to wear a bob haircut, but what about plaits that come from behind my ears? I wear my hair like that quite often because my hair is naturally wavy and frizzy and it's less damaging than having it up in a pony tail. And my hair depending on how much toner shampoo I use is more blonde or more grey in real life. And getting my hair so light took a lot of work! In order to get my hair this color without making it brittle it took a lot of visits to the hair place. Also if you're wanting white-ish hair you have to use violet shampoo or else it will turn yellow. If you leave it in too long your hair turns kind of grey/purple but I do that on purpose sometimes because I think it looks cool.

I didn't think to include my measurments at all oops. my mesurments fluctuates a lot though.
Bust 110-96cm Waist 75-78cm (usually sits at 76 though) and because I am over weight my hip mesurment always confuses me but at the top of pic related its 94cm and below its 104cm So I think thats 40,30,40 inches? And I am 160cm tall.

Hourglass. In western clothing, you can wear pretty much whatever the hell you want. J-fashion, you're going to have problems and have to order XL-2X. But, most importantly, you have a waist! This means you can wear OPs with back shirring and still have a figure in the end. Definitely keep to a lolita silhouette. The boobs will be a pain to deal with otherwise.

Western clothes are mostly so boring to me though. Yeah that's what I ussually have to order when I buy from taobao or anything alond that hines, I'n not terrible at sewwing however so I can take in the waist some times if it's needed. I have A few dresses with back shirring and when I have tried them of I have need to completed undo the top of the corset lacing over the shirring and then get some one to redo it up and tighted in at the bottom.

here's a rule of thumb: if you have a round face shape, get squarer frames
if you have a square face shape, get rounder frames

i believe you have an oval face shape, and while i don't know what style of glasses is deemed "right" for it, i know ovals can pull off almost any hairstyle in a flattering way, so perhaps the same can be said for glasses~

that being said, those thin silver-wire frame glasses never look good on anyone, so avoid those... try something namebrand~ IMO, non namebrand glasses look tacky, (trust me, I cringe at pictures of me from high school and my terrible cheap glasses) so try to go for Prada, Givenchy... I had a pair of Armani Exchange glasses that I really liked before I switched over to contacts.

You could definitely suit sweet and gothic lolita. Bitter sweet might suit you the best although it might be a bit tricky finding lolita skirts without shirring but otherwise your measurements are fine for most brands.
