Alright
Whose ready for this awesome con?
What are you going as?
Where is the meet up this time?

>> No.7245860

I'm going as Morrigan from DA.
But last con was kind of lame (dat masquerade) so I hope it's going to be better this year. I doubt it though.

Anyone know if they are checking people's eyes before they go into the rave?
If so, after spending most of the weekend drinking, going to panels, taking pictures and spending all Saturday snorting coke of a hooker's asshole, how can I get in while trying to hide my bloodshot eyes, and hooker vomit all over me?

>> No.7248990

Only been to 2 cons this year, so I am starving for a good start to 2014. I hope this is it.

>> No.7250539

I'm struggling with whether to go or not at the moment. I haven't missed one for about 4 years, but with the fact that I've worn the same costumes at the past 3 or 4 of them for financial reasons and our entry for the masquerade being kind of stuck in administrative limbo, it's kind of looking bleak.

I would really like to go, but the reasons that usually draw me there are starting to crumble around me, which is a bummer considering that this is the only con I've been able to afford attending regularly

>>7253806
Yeah, Homestucks are easily the cockroaches of this con; absolutely everywhere and always underfoot. Some of the other cosplays in Summer were amazing though, like Ursula's giant tentacle dress, the red Heavy from TF2's gun, and MECHAGODZILLA to name a few

>> No.7255354

Looks like I'm gonna be skipping SacAnime this time in favor of Wizard World's Sacramento Comic Con. They have a BITCHIN' guestlist so far and it keeps growing.

>Stan Lee
>William Shatner
>Walking Dead Cast
>Billy Dee Williams
>Bruce Campbell

Besides, I think I've been more suited to a ComicCon than an Anime Con since day one. I've loved gathering with fellow nerds immensely, but the fact remains that I've never considered myself much of an Anime fan. Of course, I enjoyed some of them very much, but I'm definitely more of a western-oriented media guy. I mean my costumes so far should've been a hint:

>Abomination; World of Warcraft
>Heavy Weapons Guy; TF2
>Pyro; TF2
>Dr. Zoidberg; Futurama
>Wreck-It Ralph
>Plans in the works for Venture Bros. characters

I never intended to ruffle any feathers in the SacAnime cosplay scene, but it happened and at one point I did some stupid complaining that I shouldn't have and made things worse, so I think taking a break from this one will be good for everyone. Hopefully, WizardWorld will put together a Con half as great as the previous SacAnime's have been.

Kinda of a combination of that and the fact that the Masquerade confirmation came out just a couple days ago. I got front row seats to the masquerade last time and was right by the judges, seeing it walk out was so fucking cool, I did like 6 pictures of it slowly walking out and at first you only saw it's eyes glowing.

Winter is always a crappier con because all the great cosplayers usually hit up anime LA instead, but I heard that was later this time so maybe we'll see some good up here.

My line up is:
Friday: Mirai (Kyoukai)
Saturday: Hanji (AoT) and my Bannette kigu
Sunday: Junko (DR)
I hope the HS meet goes smoothly for them since others are running it this time.

It's not that bad anymore, if you're close by or at a hotel it's nice. Lots of great guests this time, panels are kinda meh though. Haven't seen if they've put up any of the anime viewing info, the game rooms got moved last time and were better, same goes for where they put meet ups. Theres food close by and overall it's a decent local con. If you get anything in the vendor room- look the whole thing over first. There are about 10 booths that have the same plushies and figures- and all their prices are different. There are 2 booths of stolen art on mugs, and a booth with people with insane prices "because this is official and straight from Japan!" bitch where the hell did the rest of the stuff come from?!

>>7263568
it's an okay way to kill a hour. The snacks aren't as good as they used to be though. The games are kinda fun and they're good at the dances they do. I haven't been since they move, but I heard it got better, but shitier food.
