Plus, it's a pretty well established fact that the human brain is not nearly fully developed at that age. But my edition of Lolita already has tons of footnotes (which are great because they explain a lot of allusions to books, culture, word play etc that you usully would not get), and a foreword / connotation and extra information from various experts and Nabokov himself. So I'd say it has it's own guide to Lolita for the reader already built in. The publishers decided to do this for every book from Nabokov, not as detailed as Lolita maybe but still very useful.
