Agreed, it's not as lifeless and straight out of the bag as a lot of Junko wigs but it's still pretty lazy looking. I'm glad she didn't tease it into a gigantic ratted mess either, but still, there's an ideal middle ground that only a few ever seem to reach.

Everyone's going to have a different opinion about this, and most people might think you don't suit her as much as a sharper-faced Junko, but for me it's not a deal-breaker. Getting Junko's look is more about nose/mouth proportioning and making your eyes 'pop' like a Gyaru model. moe moe Junko or mukuro Junko sound like a good idea if you're worried about looking too 'cutesy'.

You should at least go by the talksprites considering they make up the bulk of the game. Some of the reference material out there is just concept art - and you'd know because some of the details in the concept art didn't make it to the final game sprites. The anime is garbage and likely removing details due to the added burden of needing to animate them.

A few examples would be the lace vs ruffles on the bottom of Celes' dress, the number of rings on Leon's hand and what his belts look like. They design they went with the anime matches her official art, so I'd say that's her official design.

Basically this. It's all left up to interpretation and which design everyone likes the most. I personally like the Junkuro design with the plain black shirt, just to have another difference between her and the real Junko, but to each their own.
The cosplay in question has a lot of other issues than the 'missing' details, imo.

I think that if a cosplay matches at least one of the canon references or iterations, it's fine.

ahh okay I feel I need to chime in here now, I'm the Mukuro Junko up there. Thank you to those who like my cosplay, and to those who don't that's totally fine, you have valid points for saying so - I know I'm inaccurate to the game sprites since I used the anime and official artwork as my refs, the construction could be better (it was my first time making a jacket) and I did go for a more natural look with my wig. Also yeah I did make the stripes black on the skirt but you can't tell in that photo.
So yeah, I know my costume isn't perfect and has flaws. I'm not the best seamstress but I can only get better with practise. Can we move on now please...?

Press your seams. It looks like you didn't, or if you did, you didn't press them well enough. It's most obvious at the front darts/seams. Honestly though, I'd probably pick a different fabric (knit will probably be better than woven for the look you want) and start over. There's only so much you'll be able to do with the garment you have.

I'm the Ibuki amon who's posted her wips in some previous threads including the last one! the way I got mine to stay put was pretty ghetto tbh but basically I took one of those large elastic hairbands that's supposed to fit around your whole head and stuck it on the wig head so it was holding the bangs down how I wanted then hairsprayed it and let it sit that way for a while! the bangs on mine don't look crunchy or anything and it holds relatively well! I don't want it to look too hairsprayed but I might have to tbh to make sure the colors don't mix and the... bangs stay neat and uniform I guess? but that's just my neat little lifehack so you don't cover yours/a friends face with hairspray in your ibuki endeavors and doing that also helps the bangs curve to the shape of a forehead lmao! good luck and I...hope that helps???

Your default face looks most like her imo, but I think if you work hard at styling the wig and getting a good costume you'd be able to pull off Mikan really well! So @Factory's Junko set is out, and it's not absolutely terrible.

Maybe my standards for DR cosplay, especially Junko's has fallen very far, but for a no budget cosplay Gravure set, Love Saotome's costume doesn't look half bad. I mean she could have gone for the grey Circle Lenses, and the emblems on the side of her jacket could have easily been buttons, but it is still a lot better than most other Junko cosplayers.

Doesn't hurt that she is paid to look hot in costume, either.

They seem to be a tad big. Which is odd, since through out the set, the boots and her tie are the only articles of clothing that she keeps on. You would think if they were going through with that, they would at least have commissioned smaller boots for her.

The fact that the inside of the boot is hanging out and the photographer did nothing to fix it does bother me a tad. Even if you are doing a soft core porn shoot, you should notice something like that.

Those are not as sharp as Yu-Gi-Oh or super saiyan spikes. I wouldn't say it's perfect, but you're really going to call it terrible? Yes, it needs more volume at the top, and the curls could use a little more curl besides at the bottom, but it's not as awful as you're saying.

Yeah, it's definitely not terrible, and I give her plenty of credit for putting in some effort. The final result is just not spectacular. It's at maybe the 70th percentile on the Junko wig bell curve.
