If I only want tights (cat/rabbit/fake thigh highs) from taobao, should I just go to ebay instead? If so which sellers did you use and how was the quality? Would shipping SAL or EMS make taobao'ing them not worth it?

>super eyeing the fleece ones anon chan posted from previous thread

eBay:
>$2-$10
>Free shipping

Taobao:
>$1-$7
>Domestic shipping
>Shopping service fees
>International shipping

I know everyone goes crazy over the low prices on Taobao but you're really paying for it through shipping. It'd be smart to just buy them off of eBay. I bought a pair of the bunny tights, cat tights, and those Grimore "blanc noir" cat tights off eBay and they're really nice quality. In the summer, I bought the bunny ones from Taobao. They were super thin and the ears started "cracking" whenever I walked. I thought it was because I have pretty large thighs so I didn't think much of it but the ones from eBay are so much thicker and the ears don't crack at all. I plan on buying all my tights from this seller.

Here's the link to the shop if you're interested anon:

DESPERATELY NEED ADVICE!

I'm trying to buy items that are used from sellers that are not on the second-hand (2.taobao.com or ershou.taobao.com) with Taobaoring. They are from real sellers and the listing looks like any other Taobao listing. However Taobaoring won't buy those for me, which I have no fucking idea why and I can't understand why.

I get that they don't buy from ershou or 2.taobao, but these are real listings by real sellers who aren't selling on the second-hand market.

Which shopping service do you best recommend now?
I only care for the cheapest and I only use SAL shipping. I'm thinking about using Taobaotrends but I'm worried about how "good" they are. I don't want them to scam me if I pay via gift in order to get the 6% fee. I'm just fucking sick of Taobaoring.

Sorry if this is bad manners, but I'm having issues finding specific shops that sell plain (no or minimal print design) a-line classic lolita dresses. Could someone give a noob some tips? I went through the list of shops and just had a hell of a time finding anything I wanted.

Should I just string those keywords into a big search and hope?

Does anyone know where I can find these socks? I assume they're sold on Taobao, mostly because this stock photo came from a Taobao reseller store (this isn't a stock photo for the socks though, they just happen to be in it). I almost bought them from someone on the comm sales page once, but didn't ever get a response from her so...

Since the details are a little small on this photo, the details on the socks are multicolor stars, and I believe the heel/toe areas are also turquoise, like the upper elastic.

I just submitted my order for shipping DHL on the 28th and it got here this morning. It was actually like 19 cents cheaper than EMS on yoybuy. I would only recommend it for smaller orders with mostly clothes. Always tell them to remove all boxes and pack it as small as possible without breaking anything, though. If the volume weight exceeds the actual weight, you'll suddenly have to pay a whole lot more.

If EMS is supposed to take at most a week or less, I'd say DHL is better than EMS (because apparently EMS takes 3+ weeks). My DHL package took a little under 2 weeks, but it couldn't be helped because it sat in customs for two weekends (and postal services don't work in weekends). It was shipped on a Friday and arrived on a Monday.

If you're browsing and not searching for one specific dress, I find it easier to go through other people's list of taobao shops, eg the one from hellolace:
http://hellolace.net/shopping/taobao-guide

Then I can also google the name of the shop for reviews on what quality to expect.

(You can also google "taobao lolita shops list" since the hellolace list is actually rather outdated.)

I also follow this girl's tumblr:
http://yetanotherjfashionblog.tumblr.com/
- She posts a lot of taobao indie brands, I've found new shops to check out and other nice things through her tumblr.

If you want to make sure you're not buying a replica, post here and ask, someone here will probably tell you whether it is.

Yeah, the top isn't as thick as the rest of the tights. It's a bit lighter but it also depends on how much your thighs stretch them. If you have small thighs, it won't be that much of a color difference.

What I changed on my own spreadsheet:
- changed first column from category to seller's name for easier grouping for domestic shipping purposes
- added SS fees column (is currently at 10% but easily changeable).
- changed conversion to the one on TBR's site for no particular reason but it is also easily changeable.

However the prices were a good bit higher, I wonder do stores there use Taobao as a wholesale source? It seems like the sellers are located in mainland china (tho I didn't find taobao things there as easily, in HK they are all together in malls). It was still worthwhile for me to buy things there and bring them home instead of shipping them from Taobao so I got a lot...just wondering would anyone be interested in reading a blog post on this? Most of the Taobao things were in the malls, tho, I don't think you could haggle there. The stores were super awesome, they had fairy kei, mori girl, spookycute...all of the fashions had a few stores with the same Taobao clothes (pic attached). We paid ~$100 a night for a pretty fancy hotel that was really central but I'm sure you can get cheaper than that. Food and transport were really cheap, like the boat across the harbour is 25 cent. Taxi rides start at $2 and we spent less than $10 on the subway for the whole trip (6 days). It's a lovely place, I'm big into japanese fashion...but now I prefer HK to even Tokyo, because it's the same things but soooo much cheaper. I saw a lot of the same things that were in harajuku but the prices were so much lower in HK.

I don't really know. I tried the one in the picture. It looked pretty cute, but the color combo was a little too sweet. That cut is nice, but one with a peter pan color would be cute, too. Updated the taobao budgeting spreadsheet with the SS fee column and column for seller's name.

If there's any problems, let me know.

If people are still using the old template, it's a bit difficult to explain how to change it from the old to new ones unless you understand the commands on Excel. If you do understand it, just add a column for the SS fees and make sure to add the price, domestic, shipping, and SS fees to the conversion column before they get multiplied by the conversion factor in the cell (use parenthesis for all the additions).

For those that aren't good with Excel commands, I suggest starting your wishlist fresh with the new template.

In the directions section of the template, I explained how to change the conversion rate and the SS fees depending on which percentage rate you get with the SS you go to. That is under the "About each section" title.

I find that except for a couple of items I've bought that were not true to the measurements listed, you're fine AS LONG AS you know your measurements and check the measurements of the item. My biggest problem as a big booty bitch is that even if the measurements would easily cover my ass as a thin-average person, the sheer girth of my ginormous butt is enough to make non-lolita dresses sit uncomfortably high.

Lots of places offer size L which I (and you) should fit, but again, this varies from item to item and I can't stress checking measurements enough.

If you can do that, then you too can wear cute j/k/a-fashion and feel pretty (although you won't look as good in it as someone say, 40 lbs smaller). Congrats on the weight loss, btw, keep it up :D

Harsh indeed, but there are dozens of girls and hundreds of pounds worth of money involved. If she can access FB, she needs to set the message straight, because more and more people are branding her a scammer. She hasn't been seen since the 18th August, but was disappearing for long periods of time as early as May.

She posted in June about the baby and troubles she was having. I wouldn't like to speculate what's gone on this time, but it's evident from her past disappearing acts that the SS was either becoming unmanageable, or she was deliberately letting it decline. Her post from June would suggest the former, as she was having trouble with the baby. If the SS has become unmanageable, she's needs to just admit it. There is NOTHING wrong with BuyChina. They're just like any other SS, they just add in their fees into the price you see. I ordered from them before I started using regular SS. No problems. IDK why people always freak out and say scam and shit when they've never even bought from them. Being honest, my first lolita purchase was from Milanoo and I ordered from Kidsyoyo (I didn't know the name back then), everything was fine and the tag said "Kidsyoyo." They're just a reseller.

I have that sweatshirt. If you're bigger than a 10 year old, I don't recommend it. It fits like a large kids' size. 30 inch max bust, fabric doesn't stretch. Waist is like 22 inches. I'm Asian and rail thin but this sweater is tight on me.

I'm hoping TBS isn't marking up their prices insanely high for the storeenvy.

you can get 10% off a purchase with some code they put out on their tumblr, and the shipping is already in the final price of 39.99

I was wondering if anyone could help me, I've been looking for shoes on taobao and whenever I find a pair I like they never go into a big enough size, like stop at a 24.5.

>> No.7231120

>>7231102
have any photos of boots you'd like for reference? also, there's a shoe size filter when you search for shoes. 26.5 is a 42 I think, so you can choose that to narrow down the results to only options that offer that size. also, if you never see a size filter, you probably haven't clicked through enough departments - if you search something like "lolita," you have to specify "fashion shoes," then "shoes" or "boots" or whatever to make the size filter appear

>>7231099
the search term is 精灵耳朵
it's hard to recommend a store when all the results look the same and very few have any reviews whatsoever, much less customer photos. pictured skin tone will probably be different from what you get as well. considering how cheap most of them are, you might want to buy a few different ones in case some end up way more peach/yellow-toned than you expected

just fyi, I'm not sure if you noticed, but those shoes you posted a pic of are already in the 6-8cm category, so they count as high heels. granted they might be barely at 6cm so they're on the lower end, but the camera angles definitely aren't making them look any taller than they actually are
in comparison, you can actually SEE the heel height of these bc they took a sort-of sideways view, and they're definitely kitten heels

I never moved in my life until I went to uni. It's good to let things go because they're just clutter in your life. You don't need all those things. You have to try and not think sentimentally. Everything can't be sentimental because that's just ridiculous.

If you keep everything, it is hoarding. Especially if you have tons of crap in your parents' or guardians' home.

Why don't you resell it? You can get a store on storenvy with no fees (except PayPal fees) and you'll have a built in audience of people overpaying for taobao shit. If you really think you're not going to use it.

I don't believe the stuff I have has any sentimental value. My issue is that I'm really cheap, so spending even the littlest bit of money is a lot to me. I used to collect plushies, figures, deco supplies, and lots of stuff. I never threw any of them any because I couldn't justify not being able to get my money in return. I just feel like everything was a waste of money.

I'm having a hard time figuring out if I should keep my old school work or not. I'm a sophomore now, and even though I completed my general ed, I'm just not sure if I'll need it again? I threw away all of my high school shit when I went to college, and then when I had to take Calculus again and Chemistry, I really regretted throwing away the coursework from the classes I took in high school (granted college-level was 100x harder and high school only taught the beginnings).

Should I keep my school work from freshman year? I have piles and piles of work and papers at my parents' house

I tried, but sales were very slow and I just don't want to fill up rooms in my parents' home while waiting for sales. I made a little bit of money, but just not "fast" enough. My parents wanted me to get rid of all of my shit too, so I figured I should just donate it. I mean not everyone is going to buy my shit, most of it I picked up in thrift stores anyways lol

Definitely listen to other anon and resell then. If that doesn't work out, at least donating will make someone else happy so you can try to think along those lines of someone less fortunate getting your items.

You should only keep old work if you plan to actually look through them and they are related to your proposed major(s)/minor. If you plan to go to grad school, keep only really good papers you got good grades on since they can be references to how well your writing is. But...you probably have copies of that on your computer so you really don't need to keep that actual paper in hand. Everything else can be thrown out.

if you're planning to go to grad school, keep your syllabi from the classes. for one school's application i had to list ALL my courses, including the book we used (i had sold many of the books back by then), how much time in lecture and lab we spent, and the professor's name. it was a pain but thankfully i still had my syllabi to refer to for most of the info.

Dif anon, question about college books.
Well two years ago I had to buy this calculus textbook and the access key which was around $160 (the school bookstore was trying to scalp to $250...) on Amazon. The used and new price were only a few dollars apart, so I opted for the new version. Math and science books are always the most expensive I've noticed.
Well, a year passes and now I'm all done with my math courses (I'm an engineering major, so it was required). Because a new edition of that textbook came out, the textbook I had to use dropped greatly in price. New textbooks in my edition are only $25 and used are ranging from $0.01. My issue is that this textbook has almost 2,000 pages and there's no way in fucking Hell I could even try to re-sell it without pretty much paying the person to buy it, because Amazon's default shipping price for books, no matter what size it is, is $3.99. While USPS's cheapest mail rate going first class is $2.07 (and I always ship with tracking, so +$0.90), there is no fucking way a book weighing 10+ pounds is going to cost anywhere near that.

This book is so huge I would only benefit from sending it in a flat rate box via USPS, but the large is like $17 or $18 (medium is too small, this textbook is fucking huge). Should I just donate it to Goodwill instead?

Try to sell locally at your college such as facebook sales page specifically for your school or donate it.

Depending on your engineering major, you might want to keep it if you need to relook up certain calculus concepts you might forget. I've done that with Pchem since I forgot some of the calculus I needed.

I made friends with the underclassmen and offered to sell my books to them. Most of them took my books so I have less of a load now.

I know a lot of colleges try to rip students off by requesting the newest edition. I know after I had to take my mathematics courses, they decided to use a new edition by a different author, so my book rendered useless. A lot of people were pissed. The two major publishers are Stewart and Rogawski; my school switched to using Stewart and I am stuck with a useless Rogawski book.

No, another anon asked this in the last thread. They mean the intelligible moonspeak sometimes written on shirts. Don't tell me you never stumbled across a nice t-shirt with something like 'So happy relax fanatic! <3 <3 <3'.

are you different from that other anon who is constantly on the hunt for engrish stuff? if not, you can search rebeccablacktech for "engrish" and it'll turn up the things we've found. if you're the same anon, I haven't found anything new

I definitely recall an anon asking after the LoTR tights a while back, and I was able to find one pair of the rings variation
http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=19793309158
found a few others, you might want to sift through this store
http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=36328488021
http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=36327436422
but unfortunately taobao doesn't tag them with anything remotely related to LoTR most of the time, so I'm not sure how much luck you would have finding anything else aside from picking through every individual item of a black milk replica specialty store (like I did)

>>7232592
I haven't seen any black milk skater dresses whatsoever on taobao, unfortunately

>>7232469
click on one of their other blouses, sizing info for S, M, L should be toward the bottom. it looks like it's the same for most blouses. otherwise you can ask your SS to ask them about sizing

and with this we should hit 300 posts
