Pinkyparadise is having a 50% sale off certain lenses so... contact lenses general?

I've been eyeing "Vassen Rainbow Eyes Grayish Blue" for some time, but the reviews seem to be a mixed bag. Has any 'gulls bought these and would be willing to share their thoughts on it?

I have dark eyes, actually, but I was looking for a subtle change rather than a dramatic one. Do these just not change the colour at all or something?

And how are they comfort-wise?

I found them to be extremely uncomfortable which was weird considering the water content is fairly high. I could only wear them a couple of hours before my eyes were straight bloodshot.

It made me sad because they're beautiful lenses otherwise and blended with my light eyes perfectly.

I just want some toasted honey brown lenses because I think it'd look kawaii as fuck with my skin, but I dont normally wear contact lenses as I wear glasses. Barely a prescription but just enough to require I need them on my driver's license, but I digress.

Probably a stupid question but do I need to go in and get measured or do they have like, non prescription lenses just for cosmetic purposes?

Also real talk, I really want those lenses that michelle phan wears. Just not in that color. I'd get them in the same brown I'm wanting in circle lenses. Has anyone tried them? I don't really trust just her word.

Yes. I can wear other circle lens brands 6+ hours with no issue. Not sure what the problem was.

Even if you're not wearing prescription, you still need to know your eyes' base curve before buying contacts. The one-size fit all thing doesn't apply unless you want to risk scratching your cornea.

I'm still looking for some natural blue lenses.

I tried Beaucon Shimmer Blues, but on blue eyes the green hues overpowers the blue.

I tried Geo Nudy Blue, which would be fantastic if it weren't for the shitty keyhole in the center which is painfully apparent in videos and up close.

Thinking of trying Beaucon Natural Blue next, third time lucky I suppose.

Does anybody have any suggestions for me?

I am in love with the colour, but yeah... there are a lot of complaints about comfort even if there are a lot of praise for it too. I'm not sure if I should risk it or hope some pale blue golden-center contacts will magically appear in the future.

Haha, this. I ended up buying a pair of circle lenses thinking "yeah, I'm sure it'll be totally fine and my BC will definitely work and I'll just wear these and be super kawaii with no issue!"
As soon as they arrived in the mail, I got nervous, never opened them, and then just gave them to a friend after a month or two of them sitting in my bathroom cabinet.

I wear glasses and asked to get fitted for lenses, but I ended up not getting any because my insurance doesn't cover contact lenses. I have no idea if what they did was even fitting me for lenses and not just a regular 'let's check your eyesight again' visit for just my glasses prescription.
If they have it, would I be able to just go in and ask for my BC and all that good stuff without an actual appointment?

If they have it you should be able to get the script for it without an appointment, just call them. Some optometrists will let you have a sample pair of lenses when you're first trying contacts, to make sure that the base curve and brand suits you and you don't have issues wearing contact lenses. Ichigoflavor, the person in the picture, likes to take photos of her eyes with lenses in and she shoops them. Sometimes she adds designs to the lenses, sometimes she doesn't. When she does sponsored reviews, I don't think she messes with the lens design, so she's not lying to anyone. She's just making pretty pictures.

Look up her FAQ if you're so interested. Maybe you found a repost of someone claiming to be her?

I don't see how a star on the pupil would even work with contact lenses since you need to leave that area uncovered in order to see. Unless, like, you would be half-blinded when wearing them?

>> No.7221727

>>7221709
Technically it would be possible to make ones you could see through by having the star in a mesh pattern with little holes, the same way they do white-out contacts. I very much doubt they actually make them though.

BC depends on lense material, right?

I mean, I have a pretty much median BC (8.5) but I wear 8.6 fine. There are GEO lenses I want though, but they're 8.7. Would wearing them be ok, or would they be too 'loose'?

>> No.7222724

It doesn't depend on the material, not to mention that all soft lens are just silicone anyways.

Dammit. I was asking because I know fit depends on BC AND materiel, not just BC exclusively.

>> No.7223469

>>7223298
Material for fit only matters in the hard lens vs soft lens way (i.e. hard lens should always be exactly your base curve), all soft lenses are much of a muchness and you shouldn't be wearing more than +/-0.1 regardless of the material their made of.

FUCK and my optometrist appointment is a month away, I still wanted to ask about what measurement I should get and if I'll die if I don't get a toric lense

>> No.7223542

>>7223521
Greetings, I have pretty bad astigmatism and I'm totally fine with the regular lenses. I just use the power written on my regular doctor prescribed toric lenses. I was able to wear the non toric prescription circle lenses all day actually. Though my Base Curve is nearly the same as the base curve on their contacts (I believe it's the cylinder that is messed up for me). So just check if you have daily wear toric lenses/ your prescription from last check up, to make sure the base curve is quite similar. I think if you're astigmatism is severe though, you probably should hold off on getting regular circle lenses, or wait to see your doctor, rather than consulting me or any anon for that matter. Sorry for being so wordy, hope I cleared some things up at least ^_^

Go get fitted for lenses. All of you who haven't, especially all of you who have astigmatism but "are fine" with regular lenses. Don't fuck your eyes up, being kawaii today may make you legally blind tomorrow and not everyone is eligible for LASIK.
Just because your aunt's uncle's friend's second cousin is fine with their lenses despite having fucked up eyes, doesn't mean they will in the future. Brands like acuvue sell circle lenses too, so if the brand fits you, you can order those.
