I don't see how they could all look bad. I've seen some really elaborate ones with cute lace or pearls. It's literally just cloth covering your head so it can't take away form the outfit much, especially if it's fancy. Of course it'll look bad if the girls are ita like the ones in OP's pic.

While I think hijab is a very clear and pervasive philosophy, I'm not a fundamentalist about it. You can be a believer and simply not adhere to hijab. Then you have no problems about hijab vs. the visible luxury of loli.

Of course, this is impossible if the country has shari'a law. In this case, it's not really hijab, just a dress code of sorts. I've given up on trying to expect anything of countries like that.

Plenty of muslim women don't wear them, especially those living in Bosnia, Turkey or the muslim parts of Russia. There's been a huge increase in wearing them in the last ~15 years, because people started equating it with muslim identity, but older women in these regions often still wear what they used to wear - for example a scarf tied under the chin, or nothing.

If you believe that you have to wear certain clothes to follow your religion, susch as pants that hide the shape of your legs, don't wear a fashion with excplicit rules that forbids said pants. Just wear something else.

Lolita clothing doesn't go against the modesty side unless it's like, OTT. It hides the figure of the body quite well, which is a big plus for hijab modesty. Tbh, I've seen more bad ones than good ones, the good ones tend to wear leggings instead of pants, buuut wearing leggings goes against the hijab, so it's all very catch 22.

I think that the biggest problem with most coords with hijabs is the fact that the head just looks too small for the rest of the body. Lolita hair generally creates a great deal of volume around the head area that balances out the skirts. This is also probably why most hair accessories pinned onto hijabs look hella dumb, I mean it's basically a bald person wearing a headbow.
If you could find a way to compensate for the volume lost by tying all your hair back with a scarf, I feel like it could work.

I still don't get why covering the hair is that essential. You're already displaying your coord skills, posture, body shape and assorted items designed to look cute and impressive. At that point, a visible lock of hair won't make you any more immodest.

I think you can wear hijab in lolita if you wear a hat or a bonnet. Hair is so important to balance an outfit with the lolita volume, you really have to wear something big to balance the coordinate. Or going for a more casual look with less poof and decorated hijab, which can be great if done well.
