I'm a bit burnt out on Deadpool, flavor of the month cosplay and cosplayers, Homestuck (The locals are really a big part of this hate. I left a con early because they were fagging up everything and causing trouble.), and other girls who think cosplay doesn't equal consent. You may not be a whore, but the "bikini costume" version of a cosplay you're wearing is obviously her whore outfit. Less can be so much more.

I'm getting kinda sick of Iron Man cosplays now.

I really hate the Deadpool cosplayers out there because I actually enjoy the character when he's well written but have to hide this fact due to the fuckwits who just saw an out of context panel of him and thought "LOL THAT IS SOOOOOOO ME!"

It's not got a Homestuck-level representation, it's just very popular. There's an inevitable backlash to said popularity (not helped by the people who refuse to acknowledge the work's flaws), but no, the SnK fandom isn't as bad as, say, Homestuck or MLP. You're right that at least it is an anime and has a manga, so it's fine as a pretty popular mainstream anime, but it's getting very popular and soon enough you may even see just as many of them as you would for Homestuck and MLP. I say this as a fan of all three things. Deadpool and Homestuck are specific characters with only 1 or 2 real outfits. The thing about Pokemon cosplay is that they're more of a concept than a specific outfit unless you're going with mascot. We've seen lots of Pikachu variations from sexy, lolita, casual, mascot and lots of things in between. If you were to mention a specific Pikachu cosplay (sexichu, bikini) then I would agree with you but to write something off just because its Pikachu theme is a bit too much.

Getting a bit bored of Jessica Rabbit cosplays. I liked Who Framed Roger Rabbit and Jessica was a fun character but it seems recently that maybe one or two girls did it as a novelty or something to make themselves feel sexy and it's spiraled to become a 'done thing'.

I went to see hunger games Catching Fire last Saturday and you could tell from reactions who the book readers were versus the movie only followers.

I've cosplayed Guts before and up until that con I had never seen one in person either. But there were 3 other Guts at this con amazingly enough. As well as one Griffith. Pic related, it's them.

I really get sick of all this Doctor Who, and it makes it worse when my friends are planning their own Doctor Who cosplays. Other than that, it's the generic complaints: Homestuck, MLP, Flavor of the Month, anything sponsored by Tumblr, etc.

A personal complaint is all the mediocre Hetalia cosplays still lurking around. I thought that, after all this time, there would be some improvement, but for the most part, no one has gotten better.

I've seen it fine well only about three to four times over the course of 2008-2009. Mainly katsucon or animeusa before it moved.

I'm not sick of it but each year there are less and less TF2 cosplays and I really miss the times when like, everyone was dressed up as TF2 characters.

I don't know why but I just love TF2 cosplays. The people who cosplay TF2 are usually really fun and energetic people and the costumes are just so much different from everyone. I guess it's because I'm young and when I started cosplaying was the same time the Orange Box came out so it was just exciting and cool to see all the people.

Mainly last con I was at it was nothing but SNK. So many legtoasters and bondage straps. So many. A bunch were really fantastically done, but there were some that were literally shoeboxes taped to the person's leggings.

My friend and I joked that the tactical gear was the new grey. A lineup of Titan cosplayers took up twice as much room. Only two could come into my booth at a time, and when they turned around they took out half the merchandise in the process.

As a Homestuck I'm kind of sad, but mostly relieved that the nutty, young part of our fanbase has mostly flown off for greener pastures.

Last year at NYCC 2012, me and my friend cosplay'd as TF2 characters (him as Heavy and me as Spy). We meet up with a huge group of other TF2 cosplayers, had alot of photo shoots and generally a fun ass time.

NYC 2013, my friend goes as Heavy again while I went as something else. There were barely any TF2 cosplays this year and the people that were TF2 characters didn't seem as hype and friendly as the ones from last year. It sucks because my friend improved his Heavy cosplay greatly this year and it almost feels like it was a waste.

I actually had to buy a 4-day pass and skipped out on going thursday. That crap is only a press day thing really, you'd probably only go if you want the potential chance for your cosplay to end up on TV.

This year NYCC didn't seem all that great, it was still enjoyable but didn't feel like it had the energy from last year. The previous year, me and my friends were hooking up with people and doing shit after the cons but this year it seemed like no one really wanted to talk or had anything planned to do afterwards.

I mean we did meet up with some cool people to hang out after the con on sunday. But still I hope next year will be better

I am beginning to agree with this but not doctor who in general. New Who. My first and favorite cosplay is the 11th doctor but I am trying to get more. (I don't have many only cosplayed this last year) But I don't see many old who. I don't count people tossing a scarf on and saying they are tom baker.

Next year at philly we were going to do AoT but is that already overdone? I feel like it just began and since it was the "popular" thing it is why it is why everyone is doing it. I think everything has its moment. Also building the maneuver gear for mine. Would never try just walking around in a brown jacket.

Sailor Moon, especially Princess Serenity ugh. So many people just buy cheap wedding dresses from charity shops and do crap mods to them to look vaguely like the dress. Saw one girl at my local con do it and use a gold moon sticker or foil paper cut-out on her symbol and she looked like a five year old playing dress-up, only not adorable. She didn't even bother to straighten up for photos and was slouching everywhere so the bodice kept looking like it was going to fall down.

I'm not tired of the League cosplayers yet (I am one myself), but I'm tired of the wave of League cosplayers who have never played the game. Back in 2011/12 wasn't bad at all, but this year I've met so many people who are just "oh I cosplayed League because my gf/bf plays." "I saw it while browsing the wikia and liked the design!" or "I just have the game installed, but I'll play it after the con~"

I don't get why this video game in particular has such a large amount of cosplayers who don't know anything about the source material. I've only ever considered cosplaying a character based on just design once, Neptune from Hyper Neptunia. But that was because I can't stand her as a character, but I love her design. I never cosplay something that I don't watch/game/read, so I hate almost everyone who saw a cosplay they liked and ordered it online (rarely hand made).
Like: I was cosplaying Booker DeWitt from Bioshock Infinite (which is gonna be the next big thing, mark my words) and I saw this Elizabeth so I start shouting her name. She clearly hears me, looks who's shouting and you can clearly tell she has no fucking clue who I am, or how my relationship to her.

Speaking of Doctor Who, my first cosplay was the 11th Doctor. But, not like most folks, I put a lot of time in it trying to find everything. I didn't take the first jacket I found, nor did I buy the official BBC one, I waslucky to find it after months in a second hand store.
Now, the last con I went to at that moment, I saw no Dr.Who cosplayers. Sick of Daenerys cosplayers. Theyre very rarely accurate and always have terrible wigs that don't look anything like her hair.

Also true. I remember my girlfriend jumped through a million hoops trying to get her Scout perfect because she knew it was so easy to mess up. All of that hunting for the perfect shade of shirt/pants, the perfect brand of shoes, a proper combat cap, and so on and so on.

If only we could go back though and tell our younger selves not to forget to bind and wear some basic makeup back then, it would have been even better. Luckily we've gotten a million times better about that since then.

I really want to cosplay Annie from AoT because I actually look like her- I've got her nose. I don't plan on half-assing it though; I'm making the maneauver gear and if it doesn't look fucking perfect I won't do it.

Same. Seeing them well done would be pretty cool, and it would definitely induce some nostalgia. At least where I am, there really aren't any cosplayers from Naruto, Bleach, etc. All the fans moved on to stuff like Homestuck.

I like OCs that have complicated designs or a lot of accessories, like the kind of outfits you'd see at LARPs or something. I thought about putting together a bunch of random elaborate pieces and not being any specific character simply because I like dressing up. It'd also be fun to completely make up a story and see how many people go "oh yeah I love that show!". But if your OC is just some school uniform then dont even bother, and dont complain when no one cares.

It's funny you mention that, because at Otakon I asked my friend (who's cosplay was something akin to a maid outfit) to hold my comically oversized weapon so I could look at something, and when I came back, apparently three or four people had come over and asked for her photo, saying they loved the series she was from.

Me either, man. I love T&B so much but Barnaby never fails to rub me the wrong way. I've cosplayed him before at the request of my girlfriend so her Kotetsu wouldn't be so lonely but meh. Ah, the things we do for love.
