We and my girlfriend are making Crocker Tiers versions of the Alpha Kids. We just gotta find someone to be our Dirk and Jake.

We would be attending FrostCon and DTAC, but we are going to New Zealand for the holidays. So our next convention will most likely be Anime North.

Anyway, that still isn't a bad idea, but inactivity was the whole reason Rookie Tier was removed in the first place.

Anyway, if enough interest can be drummed up, I say go for it. We agreed a thread or two ago that uncommon Ancestors and Beforus trolls with more complicated designs would be a good place to start.
So, I guess good Summoner/Rufioh, Redglare/Latula, Porrim (since there are already so many perfectly good Dolorosa cosplayers we know of), Psiioniic/Mituna, Condesce, Horrus?

That seems like a small enough pool to start from to me.

Also Rinachan/Kira Buckland makes for a good Vriska

A few threads ago someone had the suggestion to look for cosplayers with at least one excellent costume. Maybe start posting photos from the last few months (shouldn't be older than that or they may not be in HS anymore) and if everyone likes them, add the cosplayer to the list? Well, the idea was more craftsmanship AND execution. Cronus isn't particularly difficult, especially compared to costumes I listed that might use fabrics that are more difficult to work with or require more modification of existing garments or patterns. I'd probably say that Kankri is the only Beforus troll that would be easier than him, really. Maybe tied with Meenah and just slightly easier than Aranea and Damara.

Now that I'm back in Asia I'm slightly less concerned, since the local comm is still small since people here jumped on it late, so the general cosplay comm doesn't really have an opinion on Homestuck in general aside from "grey paint" and "candy corn horns"-- a couple of people have told me my cosplays have actually gotten them interested in the webcomic (even though I'm painfully average in quality).
That being said, the local comm has recently taken a really sharp drop into the shitter and I (and many of the early members) don't want to associate with it anymore-- I don't want to stop cosplaying Homestuck just yet but I'm not going to be doing them to any cons anytime soon. Or possibly ever, if the local comm continues this way.

Hey HSG, I'd like to buy a wig I can use for both Jane and Kankri (I'd be styling it differently to make it appropriate for each character, obviously). Jet black wigs look grossly harsh on my skin tone though, so I was leaning toward a natural black wig. How off would that look against troll grey? Use a wide headband under your wig with long (think 3 inch) screw mounts. (Either permanently mounting them on either side of the wig with glue or cutting gaps in your wig wefts) Make sure your wig fits nice and snugly, because that will do a lofnof the work of keeping the headband steady.
