How about a lolita winter fashion thread?

Hats, scarves, cozy ops, layering and even tips for what to wear underneath your winter coord to keep you extra warm.

More than coats but I'll admit...I'm going to start this off w/a photo of my dream coat.

I personally really like turtlenecks with lolita, so I'll do underarmor under a thick turtleneck under my dress, and it's cute and so warm that you may not even need a coat, depending on exactly how cold it is.

I can never seem to find even basic turtlenecks where I live right now.
They're all those massive saggy vagina neck ones.

They sold alpaca wool scarves, parkas, hats, gloves, etc. Part of the sales proceeds went to the university, but the rest (like 80%?) returned to the people who produced the products and were used to pay for improvements to local infrastructure, water supplies and schools for the kids of the people who ran the company.

If you can't find any you're probably stuck buying online. They're pretty cheap though so I can't imagine it'll be that much more? Usually I go with the super frilly taobao cutsews and layer thermals underneath for warmth rather than turtlenecks, mainly because most of my turtlenecks are quite well-worn.

>>7214122
>>7214147
Where are you looking and what price range?
I personally hate most boots that are designed for lolita, but the trend towards lace-up and victorian styled boots means that I can usually find something trawling through local stores. Still tossing up about a pair of fluevogs though...

Honestly I look just about everywhere for shoes, but I wear kids sizes so that cuts down on my choices a lot, at least in the west. Price range is around ~$50 preferably, but I'll pay more for something extremely nice that'll hold up to regular wear and actual snow/slush and walking.

How much into kids' sizes? Like, very definitely so or do you sometimes squeak into the smaller end of adult sizes? I'd probably look on zappos, amazon, and vivaladiva to see what comes in your sizes, also check out the Pleaser brand (and sub-brands, probably funtasma is your best bet) as they do a lot of their shoes into kids' sizes and can be found for fairly cheap online. Realistically though I think you'll be a bit stuck for choice under $50.

I can barely squeak into the smaller end of adult sizes, Pleaser's 5 is a bit big, but doable (My go-to black shoes right now are Pleaser actually). I just hadn't thought about them since I'm trying not to indulge my love of big stompy boots. As far as price goes, lets see what the shopping gods grant me as far as sales go.

I'll definitely check all those places out though, thanks a bunch!

Or $4 for a usually much cuter, much warmer ~homebrew~ turtleneck.

I do have a problem though, turtlenecks seem to be made for people with really fat necks, so they sag unless I get one that's too small but really stretchy.

It is very lovely! Came with the detachable bow & necktie, so you can vary.
It runs true to size, yes. The meausrements are accurate, but there's always corsett lacing.
It's very warm, so a perfect winter coat (winters here tend to be around 5°C to -10°C). The quality is nice, it's very well made as far as I can judge that. No loose threads, no buttons falling off or anything. It has (big) pockets!
Can hold a good amount of petticoat poof.

However, there are a few minor flaws:
-The sleeves are a little short (At least for me. I'm 168 and pretty big boobs, so this is not the first time I experienced this problem. Someone with the size S/XS or who is smaller might not have this problem).
-The buttons are made from plastic. It's a $70 dollar coat, guess they had to make some savings on the material somewhere.
I immedeatly broke one and had to use the only spare button... So you might wanna replace them for buttons with a nicer quality. (Unless you are a lazy fuck like me. But until now they're in alright condition)

Over all, I would definitley recommend it. Get one as long as you can, it is a very lovely doat and I'd never give it out of my hands anymore!

Seconding this. You really dont even need a pattern, its all rectangles. Just make the lining two inches narrower than the fur. You can even use fleece or something inside for extra warmth and add a neck strap for convienence. My mom has one made of shaggy wolf-like fur for her Victorian gowns and it has a small pocket inside for her phone.

>> No.7219727

I kinda wanna make some longer capes based on Victorian ones in fashion plates. Theyd be hem length or an inch shorter, with the slit sleeves or long bell sleeves. Would this be too much? I wear classic/goth with generally slightly longer than average hems (I'm tall and it balances me out)

I recently bought these two gobelin coats! They're dream items because I have the matching bag in black, which was the first brand item I ever purchased, and I hope to some day own the skirt or JSK in the same fabric! The black one has already arrived and the ivory one is on its way! Super excited because I never thought I'd find them (2004 release) and both popped up around the same time. It's a great coat, pretty thick and heavy.

I'm in the UK, thrush=candida on either skin or mucosal surface here - so we talk about getting thrush in skin folds (mainly fat people, but elderly or incontinent people get it in the folds of their groin due to the moisture), oropharyngeal thrush, oesophageal thrush, vulval/vaginal thrush, etc... yeah. You can probably tell I've seen a lot of it, unfortunately I've done my fair share of geri's and pall care and those are groups with a fairly high incidence of it. Thankfully I don't have to look at much vaginal thrush, I just take the little old ladies at their word and get the pharmacist to order pessaries.
